RageQuit
#106626
This troper'shas gone had a similar experiance. Fortunatly, most of the time it's without cursing. *Most* of the time...
#106627
This Troper has only done it once, in a random game of ''SuperSmashBros Brawl'', when it became clear that all three of the other players were exclusively attacking him, mainly because the Troper wanted to, you know, ''fight'' instead of stand around spamming taunts.
#106628
This troper does this all the time when someone steals a victory from him in anything, especially Stratego
#106629
This troper has ragequit two forums due to hostile moderators and the entire site being a case of SuffersNewbiesPoorly and InsufferableGenius.
#106630
This Troper will admit to that she never completed the third
Spyro game because those frustrating as hell mini games drove her to rage quit so many times that she finally just rage quit the game all together. She has picked the game up again in hopes of getting - ''son of a bitch!!'' - never mind, there is no way she'll be getting 100%+ completion.
#106631
Non-videogame example: This troper's done it with an online homework problem that he ran out of tries on. Okay, my setup for this problem's right, I have 2 tries remaining, I'm sure this is the correct ans--''GOD DAMMIT!''
#106632
And a video game example: The various times where he is doing badly at a RhythmGame, usually ''DJMAX Technika'' (not getting the alternate 4th stage on a Technical course) or ''pop'n music'' (having a worse Great-to-Good ratio than usual).
#106633
This troper has a TeamFortress2 playing policy: if the # of deaths for the day are about to exceed the # of kills, and things are going poorly enough that he has no reasonable expectation of reversing that trend, its time to log the hell off. Also, there are certain opposing players that will cause an immediate logoff if this troper so much as sees their name on the other team. Five exploded sentry guns inside of 90 seconds is enough, we don't need to make it six.
#106634
Just watch out for... him. Chrono, bringer of doom, shall usher in an era of headshots. Nor Heavy, nor Spy, nor Scout, shall stand in the way of his new world order. All those that resist shall be
made an example of. Highlights include:
#106635
Headshotting an enemy that's on fire
#106636
The simple act of sniping multiple scouts throughout the video
#106637
To top it off, this was all done in the same match. No editing here.
#106638
Good God, so ''very'' much. Left 4 Dead is my favourite offender, mostly because of how hard it is to find a good team when pubstomping. When I leave a match, it's usually so that I no longer have to put up with the mind-blowing incompetence of my teammates.
#106639
This particular troper rarely plays Versus mode in Left4Dead (and its sequel) and will almost refuse to do it in a public game. Why? The majority of my games have either my team being crushed by the other team for most of the game or thanks to little things like minor lag, my attacks never actually connected so the survivors kill me. At least an update gives the infected players bots to work with (Left 4 Dead 2 only) should the infected side be lacking players. This troper also rarely does VS in public games for the same reason as the above troper where it's difficult to get a good team that can work together instead of swearing at each other over every thing.
#106640
This troper has seen people literally leave VS games in rage whenever a Tank player does not incap or kill any survivors before it dies. In one VS game this troper played, we faced off with a Tank in the start of the map. We run back inside and get ourselves some baseball bats. When the Tank came into the room, we all beat the shit out of it with the bats and when it died, none of us were down. At least two people rage quitted immediately and the 3rd called the Tank player a fail Tank. Keep in mind this was only the second map!
#106641
This troper has played basketball with people in gym class who, in the last quarter of the game, ''walked off the court and out of class'' because they didn't want to lose. Guess what happened? That's right...they literally left me and one other person to just lose constantly to because it was ''two on five'' and the idiot coach didn't call the game off by default.
#106642
This troper just quits games because he's sick of listening to everyone.
#106643
This troper does this when thoroughly frustrated by Nitrome's more impossible creations. Burn in ''hell'', Nebula.
#106645
One
particularly hilarious example this troper has experienced was during a Bang vs. Bang match of BlazBlue. This troper was the first to get all four seals and activate the
Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan. The other Bang quit immediately.
#106646
I used to RageQuit in Diablo (the first game, Singleplayer mode) if I died and realized I forgot to
Save Scum for some time...
#106647
This troper was recently ''votekicked'' after preforming quite well as a Jockey in a Versus match of ''Left4Dead 2''.
#106648
That's not a rage quit. That's just people being retarded.
#106649
THis Troper was doing quite well and his teammates were impressed. All was good until this troper started talking, the teammates calling his voice gay and he got kicked out.
#106650
Somewhat averted for
This Troper during a childhood game of Monopoly. While playing with two others, and kicking their asses, they were on the verge of rage quiting, but instead decided to consolidate their money and property together, refusing to charge eachother and only charging This Troper, resulting in a very unbalanced game on my part. On their part it basically was reduced to ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney... This Troper was not very happy about it, but didn't rage quit on them as he should have....
#106652
This troper once saw people walk out of a junior high school basketball game in the final quarter because they couldn't catch up and "didn't want to lose". (Yeah well you lost anyways, geniuses!)
#106653
This troper was ''incredibly'' frustrated over the stupid training software for a computer science class. It told him to "add this table to the database". Okay, so I add it...incorrect action. Weird...maybe I have to use another shortcu-INCORRECT ACTION?! uh okay, lemme see the "hint" button...wait, it's telling me to double-click and add to the database...BUT IT TOLD ME IT WAS INCORRECT! Maybe I should just try it ag-Oh you have GOT to be kidding me. INCORRECT ACTION AGAIN?! Then another one, this time for the Microsoft Word software, said that I had to select the cells with the numbers in them, and then bold them. Problem? ''THERE WERE NO CELLS WITH WORDS IN THEM!!'' So how on ''earth'' was I supposed to be able to do that?! When the course evaluation is coming along, believe me there is ''definitely'' going to be a ''lot'' of annoyed ravings...
#106654
Super Paper Mario, Pit of 100 Trials, lost on the last one and turned off the console immediately, swearing he would never ever play that game again.
#106655
This troper doesn't rage quit. Instead, he taps quickly on the keyboard and inputs the invincibility cheat. Then he chases those bastards around, killing their fountain of health and generally making their life hell.
#106656
This troper is pretty prone to rage quitting, especially if her teammates are incompetent. If she's not playing online, and the other person is there, though, she literally CANNOT quit until she wins. She'll make them keep playing.
#106657
Oddly enough, this Troper has experienced this while playing Kingdom Hearts games. When trying to fight Xigbar in KHII, she was screeching his name in rage before realizing she kept dying because she was severely under-leveled for that world and realized it was a miracle she'd made it that far to start with. But she was too furious to go world-hopping to kill Heartless, so she just saved and quit. Also, while playing Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, there were a couple boss Heartless that I got so pissed with that I just withdrew from the mission, saved, and quit. Strangely, I beat them (mostly) with ease the next day.
#106658
This Troper's brother flipped the Scrabble board over when she told him that "laymans" isn't an acceptable word. The plural would be "laymen" and apostrophes are not allowed in Scrabble. He also nearly RageQuit when he answered a Trivia Pursuit question with "The Fucking Ninja Turtles!" and the reader said "No, the answer is The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." He got the wedge anyway.
#106659
This troper rage quit just a couple of minutes ago actually. It was while playing Okami, during one of those horrible digging/escort mission things, where no matter how much he drew the symbols the bloody actions wouldn't happen. What finally drove him to rage quit was the dumb wolf not responding to the jump button while in water.
#106660
{{All There In The Manual}}. Agreed completely with the brush strokes, though.
#106661
This troper RageQuit a High School science class after being told she would have to go against her religion and preform a dissection to pass the class, after trying for the entire previous half year to work with the teacher to get out of it, AND after
being disrespected and being told her opinon was worth jackshit. My parents AND THE SCHOOL were on my side thankfully.
#106662
My mom did the same thing, except she did it by calling the nun who taught the class (it was a Catholic high school) a bitch.
#106663
I did one better. I Rage Quit ALL of high school after my grades began to slip. Then I went to college a year earlier than my peers. As with your story, my parents AND THE SCHOOL were on my side thankfully (the school supported the decision, but tried didn't really like it).
#106664
Hmm, I wonder if I could say it's against my religious beliefs to do homework.
#106665
I'm ashamed to admit that I would often RageQuit in the online mode of PhantomHourglass when I called bullshit on the hitboxes.
#106666
My little sister tended to be a sore loser when it came to board games. Generally, you could tell who was winning depending on whether or not the pieces suddenly went flying across the room. She even rage quit Tic-Tac-Toe, usually by wadding up and pitching the paper or scribbling all over it so that we couldn't finish. Ironically, though, she generally ''doesn't'' rage quit video games. (Though that may just simply be my experience because I don't ''play'' competitive video games against her; I learned ''my'' lesson with Candyland and Chutes-And-Ladders, thank you very much!)
#106667
I usually do this when my brother has his friends over and we play Modern Warfare 2 since they usually play Free-for-all in "Rust" (the smallest map in the game with the least cover) and all 3 of them team up against me (which they then deny they do and say I just suck). To intensify my rage quit I will actually leave WITH THE GAME since I payed for it, not them (they once tried to stop me by saying that if they had more money they would've bought it before I could, which I countered with "yeah, but I actually did have enough AND I was old enough to buy it").
#106668
My usual team when I play
Halo Wars have taken to calling out, in unison, "RAGE QUIT" whenever someone quits the game, or just self-destructs their bases when we start to curbstomp them. This is, quite annoyingly, very common. For instance, if someone even thinks they are about to have the tide turned against them, they will Rage Quit.
#106669
This troper can quit games if hes doign badly, but is polite to message opponents saying that he beat them and congratulating them
#106671
On another note, this guy documents some ragequitters. His name is one hell of an ironic statement: http://www.youtube.com/user/RageQuitter87
#106672
This troper has rage quit several times in the past; it being more common when I was younger (Having a very, very short fuse back then). Here are a few examples:
#106673
One of the most noteworthy examples was with DonkeyKong64; where I did this multiple times throughout the duration of the game. Just to name a few: the DK arcade game,
Mad Jack, both races against the beetle (It's
laugh when it beats you makes me want to take an axe to the cartridge), any challenge that involves Diddy's jetpack, and Beaver Bother in general. I did somehow beat the game, though; I would find myself going back to it regardless of my frustration, because it was the only N64 game I owned that hadn't beaten yet.
#106674
Another example came when playing
Super Smash Bros. Melee, attempting to get to
Giga Bowser in Adventure mode (Which requires beating it in under 20 minutes on at least Normal mode without using any continues when you run out of lives). After many failed attempts before, I managed to get to the last fight before regular Bowser (Metal Mario Bros.) with 2 lives left. I lost one of the lives, but I managed to take out Mario in the process and dealt heavy damage to Luigi. However, I was pretty much screwed the moment Luigi picked up a Bomb-Omb and threw it at me; which because I was pretty heavily damaged by that point, was an instant knock-out. In rage over getting so cheaply defeated, I slammed my controller against the ground and gave up trying to get to Giga Bowser (I did at least get to Crazy Hand on Classic mode, which was good enough for me).
#106675
A more recent example came a few weeks ago as of writing this; with a topic series I used to frequent on {{GameFAQs}}. The people in the topic used to be cool and treated everybody equally, although one day they just up and decided I wasn't welcome in their topic anymore, despite being there since the beginning. Just overnight, one user whom I considered a friend began to attack me for no reason, and it only got worse when they decided one afternoon while I was at work that they where now an RP with unspoken rules set to screw me over (I shake hands with one of the ladies in another person's party after a successful quest? I'm punished by getting executed. Somebody else takes one of the ladies from my party and rapes her? It's not only perfectly ok,
but is seen as funny to those sick bastards). I did finally leave the topic series for good after they sunk to levels of trolling that likely make the original creator of the series feel ashamed (He left after the people whom he assigned as his assistants decided he wasn't welcome in the topic anymore, which should have been a red flag that they couldn't be trusted), as I never looked back.
#106676
Non-video game example: This troper was talked into playing a game of Warhammer40,000 with a guy I barely knew, who spent most of the setup bragging about how awesomely unbeatable his Dark Angels army was. Cue him attempting to pull lots of crap that was against the rules, forcing me to show him page-and-line references four times in one shooting phase to prove he was wrong. He quit in the middle of my second turn after I wiped out his "unkillable" super-unit by the "cheesy trick" of concentrating most of my army's firepower at it, as well as claiming that his dice were "completely screwing him" with "seventy-five percent ones" (his die rolls were average, he failed a bunch of rolls due to the sheer number I forced him to make). A rare case where rage quitting was actually relieving for the other player, as it ended the game prematurely.
#106678
I saw a very strange and infuriating case of ragequitting while playing Borderlands in co-op. I was doing some sort of arena mission with a lot of
Crimson Lance soldiers swarming out of every-flippin'-where, including their
Crimson Lancers that drive around the arena and kill you instantly if they bump into you. The guy playing with me was level 61, the highest possible level in the game; and had a
ridiculously powerful gun that shot litteral waves of trailing bullets everywhere that killed practically anyone in les than 2 seconds. Then, while I was fighting a group of Crimsons in a corner of the arena, I got crippled by a grenade that blew up after I killed everyone around me. So my guy was slowly dying, unable to get a second wind by killing an enemy because there was no one left to kill. So I thought my ally would run up to me and heal me. I mean, I have the Diehard skill maxed out, so even when I'm crippled, it still takes likes 30 seconds before I really die, and that's far enough for the other dude to plow through the arena with his badass gun to come and help me. But nooooo. He stayed at the complete opposite of where I was and just kept fighting whatever enemies were still in his area. He didn't even move towards my general direction. Then I died and the mission was failed. The dude took a few seconds to realise what happened and disconnected. The hell?!
#106679
This troper is ashamed to admit that he does do this when beaten by a gym leader in pokemon games. However, he never does this when playing with his friends (I might want to beat a gym leader badly, but I won't spoil someone else's fun).
#106680
Any time this troper plays ''{{Starcraft}}'' against someone else (often someone claiming to be not very good). %% My face turns beet red, I throw my laptop against the ground and start swearin, fuckin' alleged noobs. swear to never play an rts again.
#106681
Non-videogame example: this troper smacked all the cards off the table during a game of Phase 10 and screamed a string of expletives. To this very day, this troper feels bad about doing that, but it was a godawful day.
#106682
Videogame example: this troper cannot tell you how many times she has ragequit during Pokemon games (only against gym leaders or elite 4/champion.) She also cannot tell you how many times she ragequit Megaman 3 during the boss battle with Gemini Man.
#106683
This troper and friends were playing Modern Warfare 2 late one night and we were dominating everyone we were playing against. Four people running about mowing down folk while me and another just posted up in the back and just sniped anyone that attempted to flank. It got so bad that we made everyone but one person rage quit cause within 4 minutes the score was 6,300 (us) and 500 (them).
#106684
Hell, I ragequit single-player games! Fucking Ferris wheel mission...
#106686
I figured out how to get the dogs to help me... But I still got over run... [BLEEP] [BLEEP] [EXPLETIVE] [EXPLETIVE] >_<
#106687
This troper once managed to make someone ragequit ''checkers''.
#106689
In
Uncharted 2s multiplayer, a plunder match(CTF, but with a throwable gold idol instead of a flag) somehow got started that was three vs. five. The third guy ragequit immediately, leaving me and the other guy both dressed in the skeleton skins you get from earning the platinum trophy. We then proceeded to kill such ridiculous amounts of the enemy that I think one of them rage quited from a game that was FIVE ON TWO. They won the plunder match, but I don't think I'll ever have quite that much fun on Uncharted as when I was a badass skeleton commando.
#106690
Left4Dead. This troper generally resorts to griefing before ragequitting, because frankly any team that sucks THAT badly deserves to have their suck rubbed right in their faces.
#106691
I do it in single player games. Except it's sort of subverted as I don't do it until I've lost like more than 3 times or so. Boost Guardian in MetroidPrime 2:Echoes anyone? Averted completely with the final Dark Samus battle, because even though I lose lots of times, you have to not ragequit or you'll have to redo Emperor Ing again. So lame, couldn't it just have fully saved rather than a quick save?
#106692
For this troper, it's the Spider Guardian. He's not all that great with precise bombjumps, and having to do them ''under pressure'' makes it far worse. what should be a cakewalk in that it's more of a series of switches than a boss fight, turns into a stress-source for him.
#106693
For the longest time, I mained
Noel in ''{{BlazBlue}}''. I recently started playing as
Arakune instead, but because I've played as Noel so much, my player card still has her portrait on it. So, I go online for a quick match, and naturally I pick Arakune. But the other player must have been expecting me to use Noel or something, because they ended up ragequitting ''before the match even started''.
#106695
I happen to know another troper in Real Life who told me that they once RageQuit BREATHING on the Nintendo Wii Fit. Yes, breathing. And then proceeded to beat all of his other friends in the minigames.
#106697
This Troper was the victim of a RQ in MarioKart Wii once, as my brother turned the system off right before a race started, removing me from the final three races in the friend room. Needless to say, he was disqualified from our little "competition" and banned from both his clan and every MKW friend room for the next 4 months.
#106698
This troper's throat was sore after screaming at the TV while playing
Prototype. In fact, after a few unsuccessful attempts on a late game consume event he threw his controller so hard against the floor that in bounced, dented the wall and hit the ceiling. He hasn't played since.
#106700
This troper has been the victim of a ragequit several times. I was a member of a Mario Kart Wii group, and for cumulative tournaments one would need at least four people complete the series to have the points earned count. Well, two other members deliberately took advantage of this rule by ragequitting during a series, thus resulting in less than four racers and making the series played not count. Eventually I got sick of it and quit the group due to ragequitting not being punished. I'm prone to anger in Mario Kart Wii as well, but I don't ragequit. I just spam Moonview Highway or Sherbet Land because everyone I race with loathes those courses.
#106701
Devil Survivor brought it out in this troper; the game is set up in a way that makes you want to be a solid mage-build for the main character... untill you hit the first bossfight. At which point you end up getting shafted, because you can only harm Beldr with physical attacks from the main character. After everything up to that point leaving me bent on having a minmaxed spellcaster setup, hitting an insurmountable wall like that, ''which you have to face more than once, no less'', soured the game for me.
#106702
This troper INVERTED a RageQuit . After winnign 3 times ina row in ballonos, and killing 3 players at once (result from them getting clumped together and someone screwing up), he got Rage BOOTED. The Log went something like: Achiemvent Unlocked Triple kill! Me: Lulz Game: You have been booted Me: LOLZ!
#106703
This troper has seen various people bitch and complain in SecondLife within a FinalFantasyVII role playing sim for various reasons, such as their character not being allowed to have control over another character, complaining about how someone is playing a GodSue (always dodging attacks, auto blocking, never shows their character being weakened, etc.), whine how everyone has all the better materia while they can't get anything, or have out of character drama, just to name a few examples. Rather than either find another way to role play, ask advice on how to improve their role playing, talk to a admin or a game master to settle issues, or just plain sucking it up, most role players will rage quit and/or cause drama before doing so.
#106704
To clarify on the materia and HUD problem, new people only have access to the basic combat classes, which are Tier 6 to 4 (higher numbered tiers are weaker in stats) and can only get level 1 materia containing basic spells and commands. To get a higher tiered class (tiers 3 to 1), your character has to be in a major faction group, such as Shinra or AVALANCHE, AND get promoted in ranks. Stronger materia are obtained in the same way (although they can also be obtained via events, depending on who is running the event). To earn the better materia and classes, you have to be very active in the faciton you're in and prove that you are worthy of promotions. Too many people join a faction and then hardly do anything or parciptate in the faction and its events and then complain when they didn't get promoted, rage quitting from the community. What people fail to realize is that you have to have your character not just actively support the faction its in, but also can't be
constantly doing dumb things that put themselves, other people, or the faction itself in danger,
trying to attack a rival faction out of the blue without support, and the player also has to prove that they are in the community to role play and have fun and not role playing just for the sake of getting better gear. It took this troper 7 months to reach Elite rank in the AVALANCHE faction because he stuck with the group no matter how bad things gotten and was recongized for his efforts.
#106706
And he also Rage Quits if he is on the losing side of the battle, or if an Inspection is filled with a High Level Mook.
#106707
And keep in mind he remembers
"Proving Grounds" as he must get the medal for getting the Capital Ship's Hull above 50%. He Rage Quitted FS2 ''just because of that One Mission.''
#106708
this troper Rage Restarted Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team after losing in Wish Cave and losing the Wish Stone as a result (this was before she found out it was possible to get a new one)
#106709
This troper's older sister has a tendency to ragequit conversations. No, seriously. If anyone disagrees with her and doesn't immediately apologise for doing so, she yells at them for
attacking her and storms out of the room. Sigh.
#106710
I had a friend who'd do something similar, only instead of yelling he'd just glare before storming off.
#106711
I suck at Team Fortress 2. More than you'd ever imagine. I would get head-shotted by every sniper, backstabbed by every spy, burned to a crisp by every pyro, and blown into little chunks by every Soldier. You can imagine the frustration after roughly 10 minutes of constant "You are being dominated by Captain Phallus" messages. Eventually I did the ultimate ragequit: stop playing the game altogether.
#106712
This troper tries to put up with less-than-good players while online, knowing that there's no real quality control on public servers and that we were all that awful at one time. However, when three {{Killing Floor}} matches in a row end with the team
spread across the map only to be killed by low-level opponents, rage-quitting becomes more attractive.
#106714
This troper does this all the time. Especially in luck based games. Mostly because he has incredibly bad luck in them.
#106715
I am really fond of online substitutes for current games I can play with others, such as {{Pokemon}}, but I really, ''really'' hate Shoddy Battle which is a great game, but most of the players on there live and breathe this trope to a T so long as they're not the ones winning. A typical match I had before I eventually quit for good there went something like this (keep in mind too that I only make unrecorded challenges, which means win, lose or draw, it will never be added to either player's records. Why people ''still'' find the need to screw me over trying to have a decent battle with them is beyond me): #QUOTE#Troper's Gyarados used Dragon Dance. Attack and Speed rose! #QUOTE#'''Typical Player:''' Com on, aren't u goin 2 attack? #QUOTE# Troper's Gyarados used Dragon Dance. Attack and Speed rose! #QUOTE# '''Typical Player:'''
helooooooo, attack? #QUOTE# Troper's Gyarados used Waterfall. Typical Player's Mewtwo fainted! #QUOTE# Typical Player sent out Deoxys! #QUOTE# Troper's Gyarados used Waterfall. Typical Player's Deoxys fainted! #QUOTE# '''Typical Player:''' *RAGEQUITLOL* 2 strong
#106717
Another TeamFortress2 player here...made an enemy scout rage quit when ''he was the one killing me much of the time.'' This may have been because I spent half of setup scorning his SmallNameBigEgo and no one else was coming to his defense...
#106718
Jak II. 5 Hellcats. 3 guns. Cue the RageQuit and the {{Angrish}} and the
Cluster F Bombs. ''FUCK YOUR FUCKING HELLCAT CRUISERS, TORN.'' KAJDHFHDJAK. I've had this game for ''years'' and I ''still'' haven't fucking beaten it, I just get so fed up. jshfhfkskaksks
#106719
ThisTroper likes everything about Capcom fighting games except the gameplay. While I was renting SSF4, in an online match, my opponent was down to a sliver of health and I had a good chunk of life left. Then my opponent pulled an Ultra combo and inflicted unavoidable death upon me. From now on I only play the SNES versions of StreetFighter2.
Ultra combos or supers or whatever are for twats! Why should I have to memorize the button combination for the move AND practice it for hours so I don't accidentally use it when I'm trying to do a different move?! RageQuit!
#106720
Happened once to me in Metal Gear Online. I got vote-kicked out of a good match... for using the shotgun. Yes, how DARE I use the most gimped weapon in the game!? So MetalGearSolid4 got to sit in its box for a couple months. Also, Modern Warfare 2 whenever the commandoes and noob-tubers come out. "Piss off you @#$@#$@#$ing tube spammer!"
#106721
I'm sure I've done it more than twice, but these are the only examples I can remember at the moment:
#106722
Playing a DS game where you can't go to the next screen until you've completely cleared the one you're in. I hit a screen where I continually got killed by being backshot- from the area I'd just left. RAGEQUIT.
#106723
I'm an older student, and I have health issues. Asthma, almost-chronic tendonitis, cranky knees, etc. I took a water aerobics course for my PE requirement. The student instructor, whose parents really should have spanked her more often, decided that there was absolutely no reason why I couldn't keep up with kids half my age in perfect health, and if I couldn't, then I was stupid, lazy, and incompetent. Took me less than a month to RageQuit. This is my sixth year of college (filling requirements is easier when they offer classes that qualify) and I have NEVER done that before.
#106724
This toper constantly rage quits every time his crappy internet connection fails or his game freezes. BOTH OF WHICH HAPPEN EVERY 15 FREAKING MINUTES!!!
#106725
I ragequit
The Sims 2 before I even got it installed. If I don't patch it, it won't let me install the game on my OS, and if I don't install the game, it won't let me patch it.
#106726
This troper recently ragequit after playing Epic Mickey. She was in Lonesome Manor's Ballroom (the one with the pipe organ.) Now, there's a Gremlin on one of the pipes, which is might higher than the others. She checked her guide, and it said to use an anvil, so she did. After using up all of her anvil skteches trying (and failing) to get to the gremlin, she started using TV's. Once she got to the gremlin, she only had one TV sketch. The problem? This Troper is on an all paint path, and to defeat the Boss of Lonesome Manor with Paint, you have to have both anvil and TV sketches. She ragequitted after finding that out.
#106727
This Troper ragequitted from editing an internet forum that he is an admin on. It was such a mess that moving some categoried around somehow REMOVED THE "POST" BUTTON! GAH!

This she-Troper's boyfriend ragequits too much (Devil May Cry 4/Halo 3) to the point that he has broken a controller in three separate places and he now owes me a new one!
#106729
This Troper does this every. single. time.
#106730
This Troper does it so much he has his own philosophy based around it: "If at first you don't succeed, quit while you're ahead."

In one Lower Blackrock Spire group I was in, in WorldOfWarcraft, in which I was playing a druid healer (with a Balance DPS offspec), the tank left, and the group tried to get me to fill in in Bear Form. I refused, as I did not have a tank offspec and had not even trained Bear Form. When the group pulled anyway, I left the group after the first two members died to avoid suffering the same fate.

I'm guilty of it too, namely with Pokemon Gold. I was fed up with Whitney's Miltank wiping the floor with me, so I flung my Game Boy across the room. Surpised that it still works...

This troper was playing Pokemon Platinum, and for whatever reason was having a terrible time beating Riley in the battleground. After the third time this troper sent in the wrong pokemon by mistake and having it curbstomped, she turned off her DS.

Only girls and n00bs can't beat the Pokemon CAMPAIGN

She's only done it once, but we never let my mother live it down; she was losing in {{Scrabble}}, badly, and got so frustrated she blew the tiles off the board.

This female Troper has ragequitted while playing videogames quite often...an excellent case in point? Pokemon Soul Silver. Gym Leader? Claire. Pokemon? ''KINGDRA''. That mutant ''fucking'' seahorse seriously had me wanting to snap my DS in half. The thing spams Hydro Pump and Dragon Pulse, takes Nuetral damage from almost any attack you throw at it, and hits like a ''god damn train''.

It's always an odd moment when player Rage Quit joins the server.

I seem to attract Pokémon ragequitters like flies. Earned seven victories today, but I only was given one of them because the other six quit before the match was over. Once, it was three in a row. Strangely, the guys I know get ragequit on less than I do; sometimes I wonder if losing to a girl is some sort of issue among those people....

In the Global Pokedex Plus Battle Tower, your Pokemon can only know moves that match their type (e.g. a Water-type can only know Water-type moves), unless you give them a specific type of Gem, in which case your Pokemon can know a move that's the same type as the Gem (e.g. if you give a Bug Gem to a Water-type, it can learn a Bug-type move). The catch? If the Gem's type is super-effective against the Pokemon in question's type, it can't hold the Gem (e.g. a Water-type can't hold an Electric Gem). One of my opponents just had to be a
cheating bastard and put an Electric Gem on his Missingno, which, by the GPX BT rules, shouldn't be able to use it. Cue Rage Quit.

This Troper rage quits a lot on her SNES. TheJungleBook, TheLionKing, DonkeyKongCountry, and other platformers literally cause her to fling the controller across the room and beat the shit out of the console. Thank God those things are well-made.

This troper doesn't rage quit so much as suddenly-not-interested quit, but Super Mario Sunshine saw a lot of controllers flying around the room, especially on Gelato Beach's last level. She beat Bowser before she did the watermelon festival - two years ago (and she's had the game since it came out). Also, the no-FLUDD puzzles. The first few 'doo-doo's' of the theme used to be enough to send her into a controlled rage.

This troper used to be a ''very'' sore loser. He remembers having torn up the paper when he lost tic-tac-toe games with friends. But the instance that stands out in his mind happened some six/seven years ago when he was playing Need for Speed Underground. He had some 40% done with the campaign and was playing a Drag race. First time, he came out second in Hard mode. He tried again, crashing this time. After a few more crashes, he grew frustrated and switched to Medium difficulty mode. He again stood second. Seriously frustrated now, he switched to Easy mode. He 'again' stood second. This troper remembers he tried for an entire week to beat that single race and then just gave up. In fact, while he was a budding gamer then, he hasn't gamed in ages. That's a RAGE QUIT.

I ended up getting my brother to do this back when we were playing ''SuperSmashBrosMelee''. I played Marth, he played Ganondorf, and he quit halfway through our ten-stock match because Marth had just enough reach and I had just enough timing that he was three points behind me. He never played against me again, calling me a cheater and a kill-stealer (which is related to the fact that we usually play in teams and his characters were always too slow to get the final hit in).

Subverted with this Troper's brother. Years ago, he and I would be playing multiplayer on Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, and I would rack up about 30 wins, and each time I won, he would demand a rematch. Then when he finally gets a single win... he quits. He puts down the controller and leaves the room. And if that doesn't make sense on its own, he does it in a rather smug manner. He had done this about three times before he outright refused to play with me on that game.
#106747
This troper only rage quits on single player games. When it came to online gaming, people he faced usually do that to him. Recently, two people raged quitted out of volleyball on MarioSportsMix. One of them even quitted after the troper scored the first point!

I RageQuit whenever a game feels it's right to make me replay the last 10-30 minutes of fighting due to the kryptonite of modern games: checkpoints. Of course, there are many, many other examples. Another time, I subverted RageQuit by leaving an enemy on
Grand Pulse that you really aren't meant to defeat on the first pass through the dungeon in tears, because I ''thought'' that was the path through the dungeon.
It wasn't.
