Verbatim by a character of This Troper, who had fallen into a bottomless hole and later reappeared in a tavern.
#68231
This troper died at age 15 months. Needless to say...
#68234
Most likely heart and respiration failed, but they were resuscitated.
#68235
This Troper died In Utero, I got better.

My paternal grandad got the scarlet fever when he was an infant, and the doctors said he wouldn't live to see three. He was always proud of saying 'I outlived all those doctors!'.

During a paintball game, I was disoriented and fell down a hill, landing against a stump(hurt like hell, and I screamed a bit to). My crew had to leave me behind, being underfire and all. While my team and my opponents was squaring off, I "came out of no where" and tagged a few guys, making a very bad but unexpected pincer. When asked what happened to me, i told them "I fell down a hill and possibly broke my back on a stump. But I got better when you GUYS LEFT ME!"

My grandfather has been diagnosed with skin cancer, run over by a truck, fallen off a twelve-story building, shot in the face, fallen into a two-month coma, and bitten by rabid dogs.
He got better.
#68239
I like your grandpa, he sounds nice.

This Troper, while never diagnosed, acted insanely OCD when a young child, and still has to be careful with obsessive tendencies. She got better.
#68242
this troper was born 6 weeks early, and was half the size of her twin brother. doctors told her family she would die. she got better.
#68243
as a result of being a premie, her brain is wired a bit oddly. specifically, she isn't supposed to be able to read. obviously, she got better.
#68244
no you just got really good at typing, the same way that one dude of pirates of the Caribbean taught the bird to talk.
#68245
my mom was very sick when she was pregnant with me, most of the time she was bedridden, of course she got better.
#68247
This troper's neighbour had/tried to have an abortion a few years ago. The baby grew up to be a very lively little girl.
#68248
Doctors told my parents I would never walk ever. My first memory was -of- walking. Take that!
#68249
This troper spent most of the first 6 months of his life in and out of hospital, regularly teetering on the edge of death. This might also provide a subconscious reason for this troper being something of an adrenaline junkie.
#68250
This Troper was suffocated, castrated, decapitated, diagnosed with cancer, AIDS, and typhoid, stabbed repeatedly, shot repeatedly, bisected, trisected, hanged, poisoned, and watched 2 girls 1 cup. He got better, naturally.
#68251
This troper's human LARP character was stabbed 27 times in a single encounter on his second adventure. He was dumped into a healing pool and resurrected via a shocking grasp spell. He is approaching the high points, is banging the fae summer queen (daughter of Oberron and Titania) and is about to storm a castle owned by the current evil overlord of a small town from the retreating mists. He's completely mundane bar a bonus to armour from an exploded amulet.
Really sinks in once you write this sort of thing down.
