This troper parodied this once. Playing SSB, The person he was fighting made up names for all the attacks. Every time I asked him to stop, he got louder and more ridiculous. So, we were both at 100% damage, 1 life, and he kicked and yelled "SUPER KICK!" This troper dodged, Kicked back and said, ""Regualr kick"" Killing him.

This troper once thought about saying what he was about to do out loud in a very dramatic and anime-esque fashion. But then he remembered that he was actually existing in real life, not an animated show, where such things are treated as naturally as musicals treat spontaneously bursting into song instead of seen as a sign of a severe psychological disorder, and he thought better of it and never, ever, did it after that. It seems to have worked out OK.

Every time I summon the Rush Super Armor in MegaMan 7, I have to shout, "DOG...JETPACK!" (Mimicking Mega Man's fist-pump during the summon/combination animation is optional.) Oddly enough, I don't seem to have this problem with MegaMan 6.

This Troper during dodgeball, randomly shouted random names like BALL...OF JUSTICE! or SUPER BALL TOSS OF MEGA POWER!

This troper knows one person, near the top of the SuperSmashBros circle he moves in, who announces his move whenever he performs one when playing with the lesser-skilled players. He claims it helps us learn to read other players and react.

This troper had a habit of doing this during a snowball fight with some friends. After discovering that this troper's long range skills were... lacking, a much simpler method was devised: simply sneak up behind a distracted foe, and smush a snowball into the back of their head. Of course, this was accompanied by the phrase: "Can you say... SNEAK ATTACK!" It proved surprisingly effective, due to picking targets that were already distracted and blind siding them so that the attack call went unnoticed.

Ooh, learn to throw your voice! That would ''really'' throw them for a loop!

This troper once had a long discussion with a friend about Super Smash Brothers before we got...well, smashed. He blacked out, and the other guys in the group would get interrupted mid sentence with someone yelling "FALCON PUNCH!" and tackling them.

Whenever this troper has to (try to) achieve something in P.E., she finds herself yelling "HYPER STARLIGHT KICK!" or a variation (if the "KICK" can actually be replaced with what I'm doing). I'm currently waiting for the day someone gets it.

This Troper's DungeonsAndDragons 4th edition group has a superstition: if you say the name of the ability you're using, you will miss. Invariably, you will miss. Especially if it can only be used once per day.

This troper, after learning that his friend yelled "KNEE OF JUSTICE" when using Captain Falcon's aerial forward A, decided to name Ganondorf's very-similar-but-differently-animated attack "FIST OF DISDAIN." Oh boy that's some fun times.

I personaly believe that if you are about to set off an amazing combo in a game, you should yell the name of each action, gradully getting more and more epic, with the last yell held.

I tend to do this a lot. As in, a HELL of a lot. Not just calling EVERY attack in EVERY fighting game I get my hands on (StreetFighter, GuiltyGear, DeadOrAlive, you name it), but also calling victory and intro quotes as well.

This troper does this frequently when playing fighting games like ''Tekken'' and ''Mortal Kombat'' on the playstation 2.

This troper eventually shouts "GIGA... DRILL... BREAKER!!". ''While serving during volleyball matches''.

And this one does the same thing with "Force Palm", although it kept being misheard as "Force Ball".

This Troper tends to do this, especially when playing MagicTheGathering and I pull a trump card out of nowhere that will win me the game.

This troper often calls out his attacks when playing Warhammer40000. Especially when rolling for the number of attacks fro his Chaos Lord's daemon weapon. Since he's started doing it he's been rolling mostly 5s and 6s, so it seems to be working.

When playing as Captain Falcon in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, this troper commonly shouts "Knee of Justice!" when landing his forward aerial. He's also known prone to using "Limit Break!" for Final Smashes and "C-C-C-C-COMBO" whenever appropriate.

I was grappling with my friend and said I'm gonna take you down right now! Needless to say, I found myself on the receiving end of a guillotine choke when I went for the takedown.

This Troper invoked this trope in his tabletop RPG game. Since the setting was very highly influenced by anime, he would regularly call out different attacks from the ones he would use. Needless to say, the [=NPCs=] didn't like this at all.

This troper's character in my buddy's Marvel Superheroes campaign loves to call her attacks. And taunt.

This troper has observed that about 50% of the Groin Attacks people make are usually accompanied by something along the lines of "Ball-Tap!" or "Roschambeu!" or "Cunt-punt!".

Oh wait... *FacePalm* That dictionary is kinda limited, and any words outside of it are covered up by animal noises (ItMakesSenseInContext). But I could still use that list elsewhere... This Troper calls ANY ATTACKS he does. Even in an FPS game. So it'll be SHOOTING!!! HEADSHOT!!! RELOADING!!! (although the latter actually used in a game). V.A.T.S!!! VAULT-TEC ASSISTED TARGETING SYSTEM!!! CRIPPLING SHOT!!! CRITICAL HIT!!! Bonus points for using katakana accent.

''Butterscotch''. Yes, this troper was five years old and used that for literally the most powerful attack that my character knew. (The idea of it being "butterscotch" was that it'd distract people while they get covered in molten lava. TakeThat.)

Uhhh....''SPAGHETTI!!'' This is from BeavisAndButthead. You know, that episode where their spanish teacher asks the two "Como es Juan?" and Beavis responds with "uuuuhhhh....SPAGHETTI!!!". Conveniently I did that ith the same idea of the Butterscotch attack where it would distract people. It worked once when I suddenly threw someone with the Sacred Turnip.

The... interesting children this troper babysits are known for doing this while playing Super Smash Bros Brawl. Naming Donkey Kong's spinning punch "Power Punch", arrows fired as Link Kirby "Power Arrows", Samus' charged laser "Iron Cannon" and its fully charged ball of energy "Power Force 5". And we can't neglect to mention such classics as calling King Dedede's hammer a "banger". This troper found it difficult to keep a straight face when the kid said, "''Let's be Penguin! We both have bangers! We can bang people with them!''"

I call my "Shinigami Chop". People ''never'' expect such an attack and are utterly confused by the gratuitous Japanese. Also, given that I practiced Kenjutsu, my chop actually HURTS. Never tried the "Maka Chop" yet, because it needs a very specific kind of book...

This Troper, her cousin, and her cousin's friends are all major D&D nerds. We regularly yell out attacks and hurl crumpled up sheets of orange paper at each other, then roll for damage.

This troper once had an epic battle against his older cousin in the backyard of our grandmother's house one Christmas eve. Seeing as both of us where gamers, we where calling out our attacks; with names like Universe Bomb (The older cousin's version of Sephiroth's Supernova), Shooting Star Summit (My rapid spin attack, named after a major location from VideoGame/PaperMario), Hadouken (Pretty obvious where that one came from), and Salamander (A fire elemental attack; getting it's name from the lizard that Charmander was based on).

This troper's brother started a trend at his primary school for games like that.

This happens this troper and his friends all the time while playing Super Smash bros. Brawl. Whether it is the standard "Knee of justice" and "Wall of pain" to some really silly ones including "Farucon... PAAAAWNCH", "Scraaaaatch" (Link's spinattack) and "Jiggly... punch". It's pretty hilarious and should be done more often.

This troper does this in any MMO that allows macros hotkeyed to the skill bar, with CityOfHeroes being the big one. She has one for almost every attack, including a truly OUTLANDISH one for Brawl, the weakest attack skill in the game. Something like "Super Skull Breaker PUNCH!" ...for what amounts to basically a slap. HOWEVER! I have, on occasion, used it outside of video games. Such as shouting "Head shot!" when I punch someone in the face or calling out the body part I'm aiming for as I start the attack. "Knee! Leg sweep! Solople* connects* xus! KIDNEEEEEEEEEEEEY!" Mostly because, while not ''strong'', I hit fast. It's basically to make any fight sporting, since they're only training matches. ^^

This troper often says "SHAZAM!" when he is about to accomplish something awesome, and will always say "FALCON PUNCH!" when aiming for the face.

This happens all the time to this troper when playing Pokemon. Frequently things like, "Now Totodile, finish him! USE WATERGUN!"

This Troper will do this in certain games. In Mass Effect 2, my main weapon of choice is an assault rifle with the incendiary ammo. While I normally like to conserve "ammo", when facing large enemies it is a hobby of mine to slam the trigger down unleash the entire 500+ stock while yelling "RAIN OF FIRE!!!!!" Also, in SuperSmashBros, I yell "Falcon Paunch!" when using Jigglypuff's punch, and of course "Donkey Punch!" with D.K.'s charged punch.

Not quite played straight, but hilariously similar. Back in this troper's gradeschool days, soccer games, particularly defense, were played with a very ridiculous tactic - when the ball was getting too close to the goal, the defending team went out in swarms, all yelling a continuous wail ("YAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"). They called it the ''MX Missile Attack'' (don't ask why).

Almost shot in ice or floor or field hockey has an attack phrase from Super Robot Wars attached to it.

This Troper sometimes play bandy, but he does it hilariously poorly. However, the higlight of his matches is when he sends the ball flying in a completely random direction, accompanied by the shout "SCHRODINGER... SMASH!"

This Troper has a tendency to hit people with books when they really annoy him. SoulEater is my second favourite anime (after NGE). Book Violence+SoulEater=Maka CHOP!

This Troper uses the U.S. Artillery's warning ("SHOT, OVER" and "SHOT, OUT") whenever sending something on the way. Uses have included everything from tossing a wad of paper in the trash to sending a friend a file via IM. Usually said in a calm voice, as artillery units generally aren't under attack when they're delivering a fire mission.

In our D&D game, a friend had the feat Stunning Fist, which he would announce in this amazingly campy baritone ''Stunniiiing... FIST!!!'' combined with punching the air very slowly. The friend is no longer in the game due to the advent of children, but this has become a bit of a catchphrase for this troper.

This troper has done this in, of all things, chess. "''Ra7, fool!''"

At a Pokémon event, this troper watched a young boy battling another player. He was using an Altaria, and when it used Giga Impact he yelled "GET READY FOR '''GIGA IMPACT'''!" at the top of his voice. It did about 5 damage and his Altaria went down on the next attack.

While playing ResidentEvil5, this Troper and his brother noticed that for a 'superhero', Chris doesn't have any catchphrases. Cue references: CHRIS KICK!!, CHRIS BARRAGE!! and general silliness: CHRIS SPEED!!, CHRIS SNEAK!!, ...Chris fall. We were a little disappointed when he appeared in MarvelVsCapcom3 with generic military sayings for attack-calls.

While sparring, this troper told his sparring partner "I'm going to throw a lot of punches, and if any of them hit you, it's not my fault." It totally wasn't my fault.

While using a Bakugan Battle Gear's ability to win the game, this troper yelled "TERRORCREST ACTIVATE FIELD COMBINE DARKUS ABILITY ENGAGE!" a phrase which he made up on the spot. He was a little disappointed when it turned out he couldn't use the ability.

Having just signed up for a membership at the local Laser Tag place, once I earn abilities, I may have to call my attacks. If you got a chance to shout, in the middle of a pitched laser battle, "NUKE STRIKE!!!!!" wouldn't you?
