This troper is guilty as well, some of his fellow classmates didn't really appreciate his jokes about gun violence at school after the Winnenden school shooting. He didn't mind though, he had expected, almost wanted this reaction. And some laughed as well...

This Troper has an example that is actually somewhat amusing- her school had recently put on several performances of Little Shop Of Horrors, and all enjoyed it immensely. We were all saying that we would be so bored after the show finished, because we wouldn't have rehersals anymore. A month or so later, a musical theatre group formed, and in one of the early sessions, our teacher began to play the titular song, to which we all dramatically cried, 'too soon!'

ThisTroper recently encountered an incredibly oblivious, immature kid who thought it would be really funny to do a bad Steve Irwin impression, mime getting stabbed in the chest by a stingray, say "Crikey!" in a terrible Australian accent and then fall over dead. ThisTroper took advantage of him being on the floor by kicking him in the balls.

Which makes you the worse person in the incident. He offended you, probably unintentionally, so you physically assault him in a particularly bad way? DisproportionateRetribution much?

When one our teachers stopped teaching our Life Drawing class, we were being given lessons by our model for the day. Everyone was joking around and being generally happy, saying that we loved how she was presenting our lessons. Finally, someone yelled out "You're way better than [former teacher's name]!" There was a small beat where everyone stayed quiet, before someone in the back of the room yelled "Too soon!".

Back in 1999, my school's drama club was planning on presenting a couple of short plays based on scripts by it's members. One was going to be a murder mystery spoof set at a high school (well, the script was intended to be serious, but had a good deal of {{narm}}y dialogue and absurd plot elements, and it's writer was enough of a good sport to be willing to let us turn it into a comedy). A week or two after we started planning this, the Columbine massacre happened, so naturally a comedy about multiple murders at a high school no longer sounded like such a good idea, so the whole thing was canceled.

This troper went to a college Halloween mixer in 2006, only a couple of months after Steve Irwin was killed. Three people who went as a group dressed up as Steve, a crocodile, and a stingray. I don't know if they got their asses kicked that night, but they ''did'' receive more than a few dirty looks.

This troper once derailed a club meeting at her school by pointing out the shirt that the GM was wearing. It was a New Orleans shirt that read "I drove my Chevy to the levi...but the levi was gone." Everyone stopped, read the shirt, and we all agreed that it was horrible. We still laughed anyway, because we're just sick people.

Tropers/{{JET73L}} has made jokes TooSoon, but only by the ill luck of making a perfectly random and in other situations not offensive joke without knowing which famuous people happened to have died recently. This is how the troper learned of several major disasters in foreign countries and celebrity deaths over the last decade or so. For an example of intentional TooSoon, a classmate of this troper was acting like an idiot during what was supposed to be a moment of silence for a classmate who had died the previous day (and ''the troper'' got yelled at for nervous, shocked, choking "laughter" at the sheer inappropriateness of the action, while the clown was completely off the hook! Life isn't fair).

This troper recently (as in, less than half a day after the event) posted a comment on Facebook that wondered whether Rahoul Moat would make Rothbury a tourist attraction (I live about 20-30 miles from Rothbury), in complete seriousness (think about it: we still have trails of Jack the Ripper's murders, so...). A friend said, "Too soon, (troper's name), way too soon." That being said, he did agree with it. This troper is relieved he didn't suggest trails for the murders in Cumbria back when it happened (not that I would: I only mentioned the first case because Northumberland is almost considered invisible to the majority of the general public).

Same friend who admonished me just posted a comment aimed at the producer of Glee (me and him don't like Glee much) which said this (copied from Facebook, speak marks added to prevent confusion): "Dear Producer of Glee, I personally think it would be really cool if the next episode was based on the cast having a trip to England, during which they had to sing songs by English rock band The Police, whilst in authentic uniform. For the location, I hear rothbury is nice at this time of year." I found it quite funny, but VERY harsh.

Talking of Raoul Moat... while the search for him was going on, one of this troper's Facebook friends posted the status: "If they haven't found him by Saturday, they should double the reward and call it a Raoul-over." [Different troper from the above, incidentally.]

"Should've Been a Better Best Friend" from ''PhineasAndFerb'' was probably not intended to be very funny in the first place, but the episode it's in came out literally weeks after a particularly nasty incident which resulted in the loss of a close friend of mine. It struck a bit too close to home.

I took a half-semester course in High School about computer graphics. One day we were shown a video about photo manipulation software (could have been Photoshop in particular, I don't remember). And in this video they showed how you could remove things from a photo. So, of course, they demonstrated this by taking a picture of the Manhattan skyline and...editing out the World Trade Center towers. Everyone in the class gasped and groaned. The video was obviously made before 9/11, but they showed it to us in 2002! That teacher was notoriously dopey and it was obvious that she didn't even watch the video beforehand.

This Troper's teacher prides himself in that he waited a whole ''five minutes'' before making a Michael Jackson joke after learning he had died.

As soon as This Troper learned Gary Coleman died she pulled out her Ipod and played "It Sucks to Be Me" and "Schadenfreude" from Avenue Q.

This Troper joked that I was sitting on his coffin at a party. After a few seconds, they realized that I was sitting on a Coleman brand cooler. Fortunately, since my family loves all kinds of comedy, they laughed at the joke.

Recently, my 4-year-old nephew, who just got into ProfessionalWrestling, came to visit. I promised I'd give him one of my old action figures since I can't say I had any plans for them. Before taking any, he picked up two figures to play with. They were ChrisJericho and ChrisBenoit. At first I realized he'd blindly picked out one of my favorite feuds ever, but the Benoit thing was a little creepy. I brushed it off thinking "he's little, he doesn't know about anything like that." He then had Benoit screaming at Jericho "I'm gonna kill you! I'm gonna kill you!" so I figured "OK, OK, that's creepy, but it's something two people fighting would yell at each other, I guess." He then stuck Benoit's head between the rungs of a prop ladder and had him scream "MY HEAD! MY HEAD!" and I had to fight off the urge to stop the creepiness.

Considering the tension currently over there and considering the Australian city of Darwin (not anywhere near his location but still close enough) could potentially be nuked by North Korea, he is quite irate about being worried unnecessarily.

Immediately after learning about the 2011 Sendai earthquake and tsunamis, my brother exclaimed something along the lines of "God's probably sick of all their porn". I called him out on it, but I'm not in the right either as I whined about Reitaisai 8 being canceled above all else. Needless to say, we're kinda disappointed in ourselves.

Within a day or two of the 2011 Canterbury earthquake, my Facebook feed came up with a young friend of mine liking "Double Earthquake! So intense!"

This troper had two 2011 earthquake/tsunami ones in one day. First, as I was listening to the radio, "Letting the Days Go By" started playing (Letting the days go by/''Let the water hold me down''). Second was a movie channel playing TheChinaSyndrome (which is already on HarsherInHindsight) just as the news said that one of the Japanese nuclear power plants is likely to partially melt down.

According to this troper's ''AxisPowersHetalia'' fan of a friend, right after the earthquakes and such, some fans started cranking out hurt/comfort fanfics of Japan/Kiku being comforted by whoever they ship.

This troper still thinks it a bit early to joke about Sony's recent legal woes over the PlayStation3 despite their recent victory in one battle. An example of an offensive joke would be "Gook stole my PS3!", in reference to LG's attempt to confiscate already-bought [=PS3=] models.

This troper's father did the MrsDoubtfire impression...a few days after my grandmother passed away. To make things worse, my mom was right within earshot of him. "Too soon, dad! Too soon!"

When my mom was a kid, her mother used to threaten that if she was bad, she would be sold to the gypsies. Then there was a news story where a kid was actually sold to gypsies. She didn't give that threat to my mom for years afterwards.

My brother and I went to a showing of Ponyo (featuring drowned countryside among other relevant scenes) only a few days after the Sendai earthquake and tsunami with the explicit intention to get the whole too-soon-thing over with. A few days later still we watched SummerWars. In it there's the threat of nuclear disaster and meltdown, and this time we didn't intend for it to, though… It felt uncomfortably funny.

I watched ''{{Bolt}}'' during the last days of my dog's life. The scene where lies down by Penny and the movie fades to black as they succumb to smoke inhalation was still pretty powerful, even though intellectually, you know that, hey, it's Disney; they're not going to the girl or the dog die, let alone both. As my dog's death was expected to be near, I decided to watch it then rather than wait and maybe not be able to watch it at all. TooSoon narrowly averted.

I once wrote a short story about a group of ineffectual supervillians. One of them was an alien who named himself 9/11, only for his co-workers to call him on this. (The character was partly meant to be a parody of the Marvel supervillain Holocaust.) He quickly apologized and came up with a less offensive name. Later, his boss mocked him for this by suggesting they renamed themselves "9/11 and the Katrinas." In turn ''she'' was quickly called out on this.

Also, I worked at a theatre camp for the summer. During an improv game, the main conselor suggested the subject "missing dog" for me to act out. What he did not know was that my dog had been missing all day, and I was very concerned and depressed about this due to his old age. I pulled him aside afterwards and explained it to him, making it clear I was not mad because I knew he did it unintentionally.
