This Troper has a somewhat and Softer}} comedic example of this. One day at school, This Troper was hanging out with her friends in the library during their lunch break. One of my friends puts a note - since she was participating in the National Day of Silence for gay rights - on the table asking us if she could borrow somebody's calculator for Geometry, which was her last class period for the day. I gave her my calculator, but, then, I had a big {{Oh Crap}} moment - It was Friday and This Troper's Geometry class (which is her first class of the day) was going to finish a test on Monday. I then told my friend who borrowed the calculator, and she said that I can pick it up at the front gate near my last class of the day after school. So, after my Biology class wraps up and i'm walking up to the front get of the school, and I don't even see my friend. So, now, I had to wait at the library that Monday before school just to get my calculator back.

This troper would like to elaborate on the scene of treason, and Shirley's death in ''CodeGeass''. The first instance was really before Lelouche's string of bad luck happening whenever something was just going good for him! Both were some of the most traumatic and shocking relevations in anime on television of that year! After this, I know of many friends who vow never to see either of these episodes ever again!

This troper doesn't know where to start. In August, he was thrown out of college for a semester because he missed ONE financial aid form. In October, he broke up with his committed girlfriend of four years who he was planning to move in with, but, ''at her request,'' still tried to be close friends afterward - only to catch her going behind his back telling her friends she wished he would leave her alone because she was tired of his shit. She apologized profusely after this troper showed her the hard way that being lied to and talked about is his BerserkButton, but he still doesn't know if he can deal with her anymore. Fortunately, he got another very attractive girl's contact information at a recent con and was able to have some really good conversation with her. Even though she'd also just gotten out of a bad relationship and didn't want another one yet, he was planning to ask her out at a better time... That's when his ex, out of pity for him (he'd told his ex about her during the "friendship" period), messaged the girl on Facebook begging her to give him a chance. Now he doesn't even want to talk to the girl for a while because his intentions are too obvious now. At this point, his performance on his job sank to new lows (to the point where he almost lost it) because he was having serious problems focusing on life in general at this point, and he had to get counseling. Now, one of his friends is in the hospital for unknown reasons and the one class he desperately needs to continue his education is closed for ''another'' semester. This troper is just... very tired. And he has no idea what to do now.

This troper had a similar experience to the troper above. In one of my classes I had been struggling, and at the last minute, I realized I had to drop to avoid lowering my GPA since it affects financial aid. I dropped it, and later was hit with a fine for dropping the class. I had to pay back some of the financial aid money for dropping the class, which is understandable. Except the fine came a month later without any warning save for an email on Christmas, the one time of year I actually shut off my laptop of respect for family members. I received no letter about the fine, and it went for five days without me checking my classes. It took two days for me to get the money to pay and two days for it to be processed, so the classes I registered for the upcoming semester were dropped (school policy is you are dropped out of classes after seven days if you have a fine or hold). A week later, my long time unrequited crush was dumped by his girlfriend and then the girl flaunted her new boyfriend in his face by sending him pictures. I comforted him like a good friend, but he was emo and heartbroken. It pained me to see both him feeling down and the powerful effect she has on him. Three days later, I noticed all my clothes (especially my interview clothes) had mysterious holes in them, when a rat jumps out of my blankets. As if having rats in my bed was not enough, my family and I got an infection, went to the doctor, and discovered that our health insurance was not active for some reason. Then I got a follow up letter on my school situation saying that because I was dropped a class and am absent for the semester, my financial aid eligibility is now being terminated. But hey, at least I turned twenty last week?

This Troper experienced this in the span of a decade. First my Mom died when I was just 13. Then two years later my favorite auntA died. Two years after that my Dad died. I just up and disappeared from school after that because I couldn't cope. Losing both parents meant that our auntB 'took care of us'. It turns out that she was only in it so she could control our inheritance so we ran away. My younger sister had a mental breakdown from all the events and was hospitalized. After that our uncle took us in and everything was okay so we decided to return home and fight for our inheritance. Then the house burned down. And people wonder why I'm so pessimistic.

The March 11th 2011 earthquake in Japan. Huge earthquake shakes Tokyo but is far enough away that Tokyo and surrounding environs hold up somewhat well - earthquake engineering wins the day and everyone just needs a drink to settle their nerves and, possibly, needs to figure out how to get home without transportation... then the tsunami hits and is worse than anyone could possibly have predicted. 30 foot high waves, coastal cities are pretty much decimated including places that thought themselves immune to tsunami due to seawalls etcetera. 25,000 people die. And then it gets even worse than that - the earthquake had damaged the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, and the tsunami damaged it further. A nuclear meltdown and ongoing nuclear crisis resulted.
