This troper has a bit of a thing for this trope. I've always had a thing for taller guys, and it's only become more noticeable as time has gone on. In middle school, the guys had 3-5 inches on me. In high school, when I hit my peak height of 5'3" (give or take a few fractions of an inch), all of my love interests were 6' - 6'4" (and built like linebackers to boot). this troper is 6'8 and weights 110 kg (about 240 lbs i think), all muscle. as you can imagine, all of the women i know are shorter than me. i has a few friends and girlfriend that were "merely" a foot shorter than him, but somehow most of my girlfriends are below 5'5, or in one case 4'11. she weighed about 45 kg. i could lift and hold her with on hand.

This Troper (5'4) is dating a guy around 6'2 who can wrap one of his hands around both of hers. In addition her friend, a guy about 5'10 is dating a girl who is 4'9. Both the girls must stand on something in order to attain a proper hug. Slow dancing is rather awkward to look at.

This troper isn't exactly huge, being just 6'0 tall but well built. On the other hand, I've dated more than my share of women who were at least a foot shorter, including one girl in his martial arts class who was probably 4'8, who accompanied me to a match.
