ThisTroper (Ambar Son of Deshar) once drafted the outline for a ''{{Yu-Gi-Oh}}'' fantasy AU/ DarkFic in which the major villains had come together to form one of these (yes it's as bad as it sounds). Looking back, it had the FiveBadBand set-up almost to a tee. It was set up as follows:

TheBigBad: Viscount Maximillion (Pegasus). masterminded a civil war in order to gather enough souls to bring back his wife.

TheDragon: Captain Ryou (Bakura), ScarilyCompetentTracker, EvilCounterpart to one of the heroes' friends (the real Bakura), and collector of souls.

TheEvilGenius: Marik Ishtar, provider of {{Magitek}}, and keeper of the dungeons; eventually leveled up into a PersonOfMassDestruction OmnicidalManiac DragonWithAnAgenda following Bakura's death.

TheBrute: Odion, who was immune to magic, and Marik's dragon.

TheDarkChick: Ishizu, who in this fic was kept sedated by her brothers, and used for her fortunetelling powers.

SixthRanger: Noah Kaiba, TheUnfavourite step-brother of TheRival, and a ruthless (though not PsychoForHire) mercenary contracted by Maximillien after Bakura's apparent death.

In a bizarre series of short stories this troper is writing, the protagonists are a FiveBadBand in training, attending a ''school for supervillains''. Said characters are:

TheBigBad: Kuriko X, light-manipulating OnlySaneMan and Evil Princess

TheDragon and TheEvilGenius: Ywen, bomb-throwing TeenGenius who has the hots for Kuriko

TheBrute: Punch, a none-too-bright beefy guy with some surprising insightful ideas

TheDarkChick: Waspy, a insect-mind-controlling Perky Androgynous Minion

From the same troper as the above, Kuriko's group's less-seen rivals (but not PsychoRangers):

TheBigBad: C. K. Shun, Kuriko's superior and more loved but terminally ill older sister who she was TheStarscream to, with darkness and light at her beck and call

TheDragon In Chief: Beastly, a mercenary and Shun's not-quite-starscream who can can mutate parts of his body into that of various animals, but is obviously a "freak" due to a recent ModeLock

TheBrute and TheDarkChick: Hush, a perfectly normal GenkiGirl whose dinosaur mount puts the "badass" back in BadassNormal

TheEvilGenius: Teridax, a particularly handsome GeniusBruiser alien with CombatTentacles (and tail, hair, and tongue), whose only real concern is his archives

I've got several, so I'll list them as is. First are the Seleucids, a warrior-like empire that's a merge of the Arrancar with the Mandalorians. They act as the first major antagonists for the first half of the series, having started an imperialist war that ruined the majority of the world:

BigBad: Salvatani Solustro, the Supreme Imperator over the Seleucids and their most powerful fighter, and although he was a straight-up thug in his youth, Solustro's mellowed out rather considerably, maintaining a sense of honor and respect for his opponents. At the age of 185, Solustro acknowledges that he's lived a full life, but in an era of peace, he realized that if he continues lazing around as a ruler, he'd die a "boring" death and be remembered as the "do-nothing" leader. To get a more fulfilling end to his life, he chose to declare war on the Rangers and their Directors, leading a global campaign of imperial conquest all over the world expand his empire and provoke the Rangers to mobilize for war.

TheDragon: Jiolo Vetralga, the Vice Imperator, leader of the entire Seleucid military, just after Solustro himself. Youthful, almost effeminate, Jiolo started off as a shy, polite CuteShotaroBoy, who eventually grew to become a cocky, sarcastic snarker of a muscular {{Bishonen}}, that still retains his shyness and has a rather outgoing demeanor. Extremely quick at learning, he adapts easier and faster to most situations than many other Seleucids.

EvilGenius: Jhermu Gullondoh, the Field Imperator (commander of the infantry and artillery), known for quick thinking and accelerated learning capabilities, so he's the main tactician for the Seleucid military overall.

Wemphem Diorliyern, the Aerial Imperator (commander of the air force), an excellent dogfighter with quick-thinking kill tactics, but his strategies don't work as well when he's surrounded by enemy dogfighters.

Enthrack Televenue, the Naval Imperator (commander of the navy), a master at ship-to-ship combat tactics, but the slow-moving Seleucid battleships tend to take too long to get into position, so his strategies end up requiring near-perfect conditions and surroundings in order for him to win; he has good ideas, but bad timing, so it's usually draws or stalemates with his battles.

DarkChick(s): An AmazonBrigade of {{Stripperiffic}}, Imperator-level DarkActionGirls. Put bluntly, these lovely young ladies are the most likely replacements for the current Imperators, in the event that any of the current Imperators were killed. Nireddel Siqueires, Asceli Seddaloh, Sunsayu Coussoule, Miela Sakhule, Amalia Tesirie, Ciruyu Trinslec, Seyly Naulvurhn and Lilynette Kiyasai.

TheBrute(s) - The heaviest hitters of the Seleucids' EliteMooks: Puhm Dolvyu, Neph Andrecus, Hosch Kubreumue, Sedren Vuhlslhar, Treme Dundretch, Pplo Hunnurlu and Sahne Gengruel.

Same troper as above. Next is the pro-establishment director cabinet. Although they've already made their moves decades before the Seleucids marched along, these guys take over as main antagonists once things slightly calm down with Solustro:

BigBad: Daniel Devlin. A textbook racist doubling as a greedy money-lover, Devlin is a paranoid, but cunning corporatist, who manipulated his way to the top and carefully made sure that he stayed in power for longer than his term allowed. Think President Clark merged in with the amorality and greed of corporations in the states, Dick Cheney's cunning and callousness, RushLimbaugh's incendiary remarks and hypocritical projection, Cornelius Fudge's paranoid fear, and GlennBeck's crazy conspiracy theories.

TheDragon: Ashley Naedrenth. More intelligent, powerful and proactive as a fighter than Devlin, with an extremely strict, cold and professional demeanor.

EvilGenius: Benjamin Hopplendale, the one that did all of the manipulations and plotting for Devlin in order to get the latter promoted, as well as the one that maintains the power and influence of the Devlin Cabinet. Doubles as a DragonInChief.

Matthew Nosolen, a well-mannered neat-freak that prefers not to get dirty by fighting on the front lines, acting as the main battle tactician.

TheBrute: Richard Vodusten, an impulsive, merciless LeeroyJenkins, with crooked cop tendencies, that prefers to use MoreDakka than actual tactics.

Marvin Achelope, another GeneralRipper that acts as the primary enforcer, either as a peacekeeper, DrillSergeantNasty or a battle combatant, for the Devlin Cabinet. Wallace McCraynle is another greedy, moronic, desperate shill, who cheats a lot to maintain power and pretends to be for the people in order to gain support.

DarkChick(s): Brenden Tupulani, a powerful and arrogant, but paranoid egomaniac. Mitchell Anoretti, a cheating coward with an egotistical, borderline narcissistic streak. Evan Quarreler, a moronic, self-important proxy leader (think GeorgeBush merged with SarahPalin), meant to rally the general public into supporting a supposedly populist commander, when he's actually just a greedy, moronic shill.

Same troper as above; next are the Scimitars, a secret society of vigilante EmpathicWeapon users. Their goal is to restore peace by wiping out every single major warring faction in the now-CrapsackWorld of Earth, while persuading the public to discard leadership branches (government, corporation, religion and military) and go only for a more community-based society. Unlike most of the other bands here, these Scimitars are more complex, even likable, but aren't extremist - just somewhat misguided:

BigBad: Arvelle Thrincher, a stylish, flippant and jovial young man, who serves as the main ringleader of the Scimitars.

TheDragon: Steven Dronheld, the main spy, with a HandsomeLech demeanor that allows him to recruit female members. Known for leading the group when Thrincher is unavailable, acting as the unofficial ringleader in public to throw their enemies off of Thrinchers' scent.

EvilGenius(es): Kaname Sekulow, Dronheld's girlfriend. The female leader and main tactician of a criminal organization that serves as the Scimitars' main attack force. Thraqour Veschroom, a well-mannered, charming gentleman with elemental manipulation.

DarkChick(s): Seiryu Satsuishi, Arvelle's girlfriend. A sadomasochistic sexpot that acts as the main recruiter for male members, but with some insecurities about relationships in general. Luxa Quadrille, a calm, laid-back young woman that seduces men and women alike for information, but she ''does'' care for her 'customers' and colleagues well-beings alike.

TheBrute(s): Randy Roholhu, a cocky, short-tempered snarker with the best offensive physical strength. Jatsuchu Kutsuemon, a brutal and ruthless BloodKnight, but spiritual and honorable swordsman.

Same troper as above, with the final FiveBadBand: Marauders. These guys are the resident HumanoidAbominations, where they end up taking the already dark series even darker.

BigBad EvilGenius: Zayosuke Azaran, an intelligent and manipulative scientist that studies and experiments on Seleucids and Marauders, thereby developing ways for them to advance and evolve, while simultaneously finding ways to get his own power as a Marauder under control. Through his experiments, he was the one that 'created' the Seleucids as a new evolutionary line for Marauders. Furthermore, he was the one that allowed Solustro to become Supreme Imperator, but the latter was ''not'' an underling; the two were in a BigBadDuumvirate stage. Even further, he founded the same corporation that the pro-establishment Devlin initially worked at before taking the helm, and while he took advantage of how badly Devlin screwed things up, Azaran ''loathed'' Devlin's inept policies, absurd prejudices and dickish personality traits.

TheDragon: A NeutralEvil HumanoidAbomination, think of Aarnalu Rothage as an EvillyAffable merge of Aaroniero Arruruerie with Donquixote Doflamingo and Marshall D. Teach. Adding in an attractive humanoid form and an alluring voice, plus a dash of mock politeness with amicable charm and wit, and you've got a nicely baked contender for EstrogenBrigadeBait.

EvilGenius: Jagreque Henthelew is a half-human half-insect abomination with an insatiable hunger; flesh is his preferred dish, while plants are eaten to stave off starvation. Something of a virus, Jagreque instinctively scans the DNA of what he eats and applies useful evolutionary upgrades to himself, ensuring that he grows deadlier with each victory. In fact, the more people he eats, the more of a personality he can develop. When alone, Jagreque serves as an infiltrator, blending in with the environment to keep hidden; he uses these tactics to sabotage structures and cannibalize individuals one at a time. In a straight-up fight, apart from excellent strength and speed, he can quickly adapt to whatever situation he's thrown against, and learn from whatever he experiences (or sees his opponents experience), incorporating them into his tactics. Outside of combat, given his aptitude for quick learning, Jagreque acts as a scavenger, salvaging and crafting raw materials for Azaran's machinations.

TheBrute: Vaunedor Zhaletch is a sadomasochist that deeply respects pain, to the point of finding it "sacred". However, he only harms an individual under a specific set of circumstances: liberally harming people out of spite, threat or thrill is viewed as a stunt for amateurs to him, for example. Instead, when he harms someone, he's marked them for what he views them to be, from worthy enemies or good allies, to superiors or underlings, and equals or lessers, depending on the amount and level of pain inflicted. Before he injures a person, he briefly takes on a praying stance and chants a short phrase ("Astride upon them the greatest gift of divinity."). Refusing to get injured is seen as sacrilegious by him. Vaunedor views combat to be the "most divine" form of inflicting pain; in his view, combat is a form of expression, and what a person's views on their opponent is determined through the amount and level of pain inflicted. However, he finds it extremely low for someone to inflict pain emotionally or psychologically, as it "perverts the mindset of an individual and corrupts the practice of pain."

DarkChick: Nacquinna Telaudae and Anraiyyel Crowsehlu.

SixthRangerTraitor(s): Rusoldo Rupert Alemdrake, the only one that regrets participating in the Marauders' Crusade, seeking to redeem himself by helping those that he helped to harm in the past, but he keeps his status as a Marauder a secret, to avoid being executed.

In this troper's story, he has the following FiveBadBand of VillainProtagonists. They are working for a "Eurasian alliance" in a war against America and its allies in the year 2103.

BigBad / EvilGenius: Dr. Alexander Hsieh. An AsianAndNerdy ManipulativeBastard scientist in his fifties, he controls a secret government research facility.

TheDragon: Lt. Sergei Andropov. He works for Hsieh as an Elite MookLieutenant, in command of the West Russian Special Forces elite division of soldiers.

TheBrute: Col. Ana Flores. A Centroamerican colonel, she doesn't really fit most of the Brute stereotypes–but she's the one with the guns and men, and the others pretty much consider her dumb muscle.

DarkChick: Lance Cpl. Nguyen Thi Kim. She was captured by Partisans seeking to retake Texas from the Eurasian Alliance, and was tortured, raped, and starved for six months before EAA soldiers rescued her. Hsieh hopes to use this against the Americans, as he believes she will want revenge.

TokenGoodTeammate: Sgt. Volody Dyakov. A WRSF medic, he is one of the few genuinely good people, putting himself in harm's way to try and save a fallen comrade and trying to comfort Kim.

TagalongKid: May Wu. She signed up in order to help the EAA win the war, but wasn't really right about what that entailed...

This troper, in creating one of her (many, many mostly unfinished...) stories, accidentally created on of these. See, first I had a villain with electric powers, then I needed another villain for my protagonist to defeat, so I made a guy with earthquake powers. Then, one of my friends gave me a suggestion for another villain to add when I told him about it (orginally a demon, changed to a human possesed by a demon), and his character fit in surprisingly well. But then I decided that the demon guy wouldn't really be evil, but was being controlled by another guy, the real BigBad. And ''then'' I needed to give an example of another person in my protagonist's school system having been taken away by the government and being sent to the BMAHS (Bureau of Metahuman Affairs High School), and I decided that the other girl, who had fire powers, ended up being a villain. So, in the end we have:

Skoteinos: the BigBad, a telekinete and mind controller. He wants revenge on basically the whole world for rejecting him, which stems from his mother having to give him up for adoption as a baby.

Inber: TheDragon, a shapeshifter with some control over water. A fourtheenth century Muslim alchemist, who, in his studies, accidentally released a demon which fused with him when he tried to exorcise it. Now effectively immortal, and in complete control but with a demonic appearance, he searches for a way to release the demon from himself so that he can finally die. Has a HeelFaceTurn in the end, after Rosa (the protagonist) snaps him out of Skoteinos' mind control.

Seismos: TheBrute, he can cause earthquakes, both small enough so as to be barely noticeable, and the huge kind that can cause hundreds of deaths and millions in property damage. Needless to say, he likes the second kind better. He's really kind of lazy, though, so he doesn't do much villaining unless he needs to.

Dr. Ohm: TheEvilGenius, with control over electricity. He actually killed Rosa's father nearly eight years before, which I am planning on using for a PrincessBride shout out, as her last name is Montoya.

The Phoenix: A girl about the same age as Rosa, with control over fire. She used to be a popular girl who went to the same school, but when she got sent to the BMAHS, she decided that she didn't want to be a goody-goody sugar-sweet heroine, and did a FaceHeelTurn. She's going to be a DarkerAndEdgier counterpart to Rosa, whose superhero identity is La Aguila, Spanish for The Eagle.

I've actually tried to come up with a possible FiveBadBand where it looks like all the members seem to fit a cetain role but really fit another. It's rather simplistic right now, but here's what I have so far:

TheBigBad - EvilOverlord and the official leader of the group, but mostly uses force and fear-tactics to accomplish any goals and as it turns out is really little more than a puppet of his so-called subordinates (Really TheBrute, but at least an aversion of OrcusOnHisThrone)

TheBrute - Appears to be a menacing bruiser type, but is really a GentleGiant only working with the group against his will (Really TheDarkChick, with traits of TokenGoodTeammate and SixthRangerTraitor)

TheEvilGenius - ManipulativeBastard ManBehindTheMan (Really TheBigBad)

TheDarkChick - JokeCharacter (Really TheDragon)

All that leaves is some way for TheDragon to shift to EvilGenius

I really don't want to put the "Nerd Pride Gang" of my school up here, especially considering I'm one of them, but to tell the truth, we REALLY don't fit FiveManBand...

TheBigBad is Tomasz, who's the nerdiest and the least liked by the others. He gets this spot as no one really dares challenge him to a nerd-off. Simon and I hypothesize that he's really a killer robot - he certainly doesn't display much emotion. He's very arrogant, and his personality is along the lines of AIIsACrapshoot. He's also TheRival to me, as we constantly try to outdo each other in lessons.

TheDragon is Robbert, a total Otaku and the most socially awkward. He's not especially bright, but he does play along with Tomasz' crackpot schemes and ideas. However, I'm beginning to wonder if he actually supports Simon's plan for world domination. In the end, though, I'm sure that I can convince him to stay on my side...

TheEvilGenius is Simon - a cynical, megalomaniacal boy with glasses. He's determined to take over the world and install a "Simocracy", making him TheStarscream as well as TheEvilGenius. He also veers into TheChessmaster occasionally, especially during Religious Studies lessons.

I'm TheDarkChick. I'm a balance of all of the others - maths nerd, otaku and science geek. However, I'm ALSO CrazyPrepared and a WalkingArsenal - I can turn anything in my pockets in a weapon, I'm DangerouslyGenreSavvy, and I have a sword in my bedroom. None of the others know it, but I'm a CovertPervert and a YaoiFangirl too.

Finally, TheBrute is Dark. She's more of an Otaku then a nerd, but she still counts. Why is she TheBrute? Because she's the tallest and strongest, and could definitely take any of us in a physical fight - so long as she doesn't let me get my weapons.

We're not especially organized, as none of us except Robbert take any of Tomasz's ideas seriously, Simon's too insane for anyone to listen to, Robbert's easily lead, Dark tends not to get involved, and I just let things happen. And yes, there DOES appear to be a plot with us! It's mostly Tomasz having stupid theories and daring us to do the impossible, Robbert going along with it, Simon working towards the Simocracy, Dark's mysterious illness, and me... well... getting annoyed by all of the shipping that seems to go on with us... I mean, it's not as if I LIKE any of them... especially not Robbert...
