This troper has only seen a couple of episodes of the new ''BattlestarGalactica'' and doesn't even like it that much, but the word "frak" entered her vocabulary sometime during the summer of 2008 and refuses to leave. This troper had a German (both her nationality and subject) professor who inverted this trope, cursing exclusively in English instead of her native tongue.

English seems to be a favorite language to swear in, though personally ThisTroper has found German to have a number of satisfying cuss words. This rarely got around the censors in the better schools, where most the teachers were broadly educated enough to know that much language, while in the worse schools they could only recognize the intent and suspect the words.

English curse words are by far the best I've ever heard. Half the time you can tell they're obscene just by listening to them. German curses sound weak in comparison.

This troper's friend, an exchange student from Brazil, ''loved'' cursing in English. He peppered his sentences with F-bombs, and when I asked him why, he said that it didn't mean anything to him and he loved to freak everyone else out.

This troper also has a foreign exchange student friend. He loves to curse like no other, even using words in completely nonsensical situations. To balance this out, several of my friends and I learned curses in his native Italian (even down to the regional Northern words) to freak him out. It worked exceptionally well because he didn't know we were learning any until we broke them out at lunch one day.

As a {{Transformers}} WebComic maker, this troper has used several TF-related curses, including: "Slag" (Shit), "Pit" (Transformer {{Hell}}), "Gears" (A certain pair of male body parts), "Slagged The Predacon" (ScrewThePooch, naturally), "Flak" (Slightly less version of the F-bomb) and, much more rarely (In that a single character has used it), "Vok" (PrecisionFBomb).

This Quebec troper, while anglophone, still loves to let loose with a nice "Saint osti de Calice en tabarnak de ciboire en Crisse!" when he's feeling particularly vexed. Very theraputic.

On Roblox.com (sorta like virtual Legos, but waaaay more customizable!), this Troper loves to let loose with some Japanese on occasion. Usually as a comeback after getting bloxxed. (Roblox version of a frag. Variations exist, like Spawn Killing and Blown to Bits.) Favorites include "あなたはとてもばかですよ。" ("Anata wa totemo {{baka}} desuyo", lit. "You are a huge noob!") and "あなたのおかあさんは(adjective)です。" ("Anata no okaasan wa (adjective) desu.", "Yo mama a (adjective).") Sometimes, I also use just normal translations of what people would normally say in the game. HilarityEnsues as five other players chat "wtf" simultaniously. (However, due to the limits of the Roblox Game Engine, particularly the font used, speaking Japanese is limited to romanji. Which kinda blows when you have to say something that would be [=SafeCensor=]'d, like "Eigo o hana''shit''e kudasai." ("Please speak English," usually said to 1337 speakers.)

This warsie troper is fond of using StarWars expletives and slang in application to the real world. She sometimes replaces "hell" with "chaos", "ass" with the ''Mando'a'' (Mandalorian) word ''"shebs"'', and uses "stang" and "stanging", repectively, as a strong expletive and modifier. She also tends to follow up cursing in English with "Pardon my Alderaanian" or "Excuse my (insert random ''Star Wars'' dialect here)" or something to that effect.

Ditto with this troper. He favors Mando'a obscenities in an attempt to dial back his normal English usage of obscenities as punctuation. This leads to amusing occasions where he starts ranting on and on and gradually switches from English with Mando'a obscenities to near full-on Mando'a. Why? Call it a very boring senior year in high school and access to the Big Book of Mando'a.

I have done this using Trope-speak before. Very satisfying.

Being Czech, I have picked up a habit of cursing in Slovak, English, and made-up words from TV shows ("smeg", "frell"). Not to mention about the only Hungarian words I know (but don't actually use - if for no other reason, then because it's too long), from ''Švejk'': #QUOTE# Baszom az anyát, baszom az istenet, baszom a Kristus Máriát, baszom as astyádot, baszom a világot!

I'm a Hungarian, and "astyádot" is not a word in our language.

This troper, being Norwegian, uses the f-word quite a bit while speaking in Norwegian. When around non-Norwegophone English-speakers, he falls back on his Norwegian curses, mainly because - let's face it - the English vocabulary of expletives is rather tiresomely dull and unimaginative. "Satan steike helvete innst inni kukskolten, grønne halvfeite rævkjørte fettskalle av en nedtråkka utpult jævel!" There's nothing quite like a ''proper'' curse...

Happens to Da_Nuke when speaking predominantly Spanish or French. In the former, he sometimes lets go French French expletives (e.g., if he hits his hand against a corner, he says "¡Ay chingada verga, bordel couille de putain, me acabo de pegar bien cabrón!"). The opposite goes when speaking French, in which case he reverts to his native Mexican expletives.

This troper only speaks two languages, but can curse, insult and blaspheme in an additional nine, and tends to use made-up expletives from various tv-shows.

This troper does *not* speak Klingon. Unfortunately, his high school chemistry teacher not only spoke it fluently but became convinced that I spoke it too. As a result of him addressing me in Klingon, the entire school ended up believing that I did as well despite my non-response.

This Troper used to invoke {{Gosh Dang It to Heck}} before being introduced to {{Farscape}} in middle school. This has since become her primary use of swearing, ''especially'' around her family. The term "frell," however, has maintained its general purpose as an F-bomb substitute (as she refuses to actually employ the F-bomb) and all-around curse substitute at school, to the point that she has gotten at least two or three friends to say it in recent years. And a new one, if it counts - while playing Shanghai with my godfamily and the younger godsister's grandparents, she wound up getting ''really annoyed'' with the grandfather. The first thing that came to mind that came out of her mouth? "Galbursten it, you s'wit!" The player to her immediate left (the grandmother), commented, "You tell 'im, girl."

In order to annoy an ultra-religious colleague who insisted that I couldn't be an atheist because I used "God" and "Hell" as expletives (thus apparently proving I believe they actually exist), I got into the habit of pluralising them ("Oh gods" and "What the hells?") and explaining I was just quoting fantasy novels. Somehow, via ''DungeonsAndDragons'' mythology, this ended up as swearing by the Nine Hells and then eventually just using "Nine" as an expletive. It sounds stupid but I just can't stop...

This troper has an inhibition against using stronger American English obscenities. Instead, he has adopted "frak", as well as various British obscenities.

This troper is Australian. Bizarre Curses, insults, sayings, and extremely colourful descriptions are par for the cultural course. Even a lot of the colloquial language that isn't necessarily explicitly offensive is euphemistically so.

This troper is a bit of a language aficionado, and therefore knows bits and pieces of several languauges. In order to cut down on my profuse swearing (at least in American English), I started learning swears in British English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Portuguese, as well as Klingon and Sindarin. In sixth grade, before profuse swearing became the norm, this troper referenced insults and curses of StarWars and ArtemisFowl fame, including [but not limited to] D'arvit, chubba, kriffing, sleemo, barve, barvy, bloah, and borked. This troper had his first experience with this when frak from BSG replaced most of his cussing. Then I came upon this site which led me to Farscape. I think it is impossible to go through that show without it affecting your language. Dren, Frell, and farbot have so completely replaced the actual words in my mind I have to make a heavy conscious effort if I want to use the actual words. I get a lot of strange looks when I'm heavily cussing because to everyone it seems like goshdarnittoheck.
