#74473
I honestly have no idea what color my eyes are any more. Normallly they look big and brown and Bambi-ish, but other times they look more black than anything, other times they seem kind of hazel-ish, and once I glanced into the mirror to discover they had taken on a deep copper-y, almost red color that almost made me jump out of my skin. It probably has something to do with blood pressure, seeing as they're all variations of what is essentially the same color, but it still weirds me out a lot.
#74474
This troper has plain brown eyes that don't change color under any circumstances that he's aware of, but he's used this trope once or twice in roleplaying games before:
#74475
A supporting character in an older RPG had this trope in spades, with eyes that would cycle through the visible spectrum seemingly at random. It's a subversion of sorts here; this girl's eyes could only perceive light from the astral plane, an ability called the Mystic Eyes of Ether Sight. Ironically it was also her {{fatal flaw}}, since said eyes couldn't perceive light from the visible spectrum and she was totally blind.
#74476
A main character this troper started using recently also has this trope, but it's justified here since said character is a {{shapeshifter}} who regards his/her ability to do this as a neat party trick.
#74477
This troper's eyes change shades of blue seemingly at random, and do not match either of his parents. The strange thing is that the colors don't seem to be changing while you're watching, but they do. Note, they don't change with mood.
#74478
And this trope's mother's eyes change color with mood. Described as hazel, they're often something of a chestnut color, but turn green when she gets angry.
#74479
This troper's do too. They're blue when she's sad, gray when she's bored, and brilliant green when she's happy. People have stopped her in the middle of relating something exciting to say "wow, your eyes are ''really'' green right now."
#74480
Mine go through the blue-green-gray scale usually dependant upon my mood. Let's just say people can tell when I'm feeling a bit randy because they go very emerald.
#74481
This Troper's Green eyes have flecs of gold, but they turn very green under stress or while angry, and wander into EyesOfGold territory when I'm happy.
#74482
So we won't like her when she's angry, then?
#74483
It takes one hell of an effort, but it's overall a good idea to avoid.
#74484
It might not be quite the same phenomenon, but this troper's eyes look like a different shade of blue/green/grey every time she looks in the mirror to try and determine what color they actually are.
#74485
Same with this troper, except it's just blue or green. She also used to have a friend who claimed this happened, but she (this troper) never noticed. She (troper) also seems to have a yellow ring around her pupil.
#74486
This troper has eyes that change from blue to green too, depending on the amount of sleep she gets usually, sort of odd
#74487
Are you me? Asking others has just determined that they're definitely not brown.
#74488
I (original troper) just claim 'blue' on official forms and things, because that's the color I thought they were when I was a kid and paid less attention. (That, and type-2 BlueEyes suit my personality.)
#74489
This troper knows a girl whose eyes go from brown to blue-green at random. One of the many reasons she melts my heart.
#74490
This Troper has eyes of blue, green, grey, or any combination thereof, but the change is based on what she's wearing at the time. It also makes it a pain to fill out those "What is your eye color (check one)" survey questions. She usually goes with blue.
#74491
This Troper has the same issue, though his eyes are green if you look up close. Also, they used to be blue, and have a faint yellow ring around the pupil.
#74492
This troper solved the "what is your eye color (check one)" problem for blue-green-gray color change while doing research for a novel in The Other Wiki. It turns out gray eyes are extremely pale, even though they don't appear to be, and thus pick up blue and green shades from outside influences very easily. So the answer is gray. Although this troper's eyes have enough yellow flecks to have a definite tendency toward gray-green, complicating the issue. Things were so much simpler when she was zero to around eight and her eyes were blue.
#74493
This Troper has brown eyes that seem to range from "basically black" to "a lightish dark brown" depending on the light. Though the lighter shade has blackish...dashes circling the pupil (Like -O- except they go all around), which has scared one friend.
#74494
This Troper has blue-grey eyes (says my passport, but if he looks long enough into the mirror, he thinks there's a bit of green in it too. Maybe even brown.
#74495
This troper knows a girl who's eyes have on occasion shifted between shades of green and brown while he's talking to her.
#74496
This troper's first girlfriend had eyes that changed colour over time, usually taking a week or so to go from one colour to the next, generally cycling through greens and browns. However, this troper wouldn't have noticed if she hadn't mentioned it to him, since his attention tended to be somewhat lower down, most of the time.
#74497
One of this troper's father's blue eyes has a brown dot in it that changes size seemingly randomly.
#74498
This troper's eyes run the gamut from blue, via green, to ''yellow''. -ish. Not quite, but more yellow than green. He just ticks off "green" if asked.
#74499
This troper describes her eyes as 'greenish hazel'. They change, depending upon mood, colour she wears and health from almost blue-green, various shades of green, true hazel, yellow-green with enough black eyeliner, really pale green when crying or sick... and they have gold-ish starburst circles in them. Those stay.
#74500
This troper goes with "hazel" when asked, but has been complimented, to her surprise, on having very bright green eyes occasionally. People have claimed the eye color changes from browns, golds, and greens, and even PURPLE more than once, but the troper in question has only ever seen them in the mirror as various shades of brown, leading her to believe this might be an example of a giant secret conspiracy more than Kaleidoscope Eyes.
#74501
This troper has hazel eyes that shift to a darker color that's almost black from time to time.
#74502
This troper has hazel eyes. They're in that place between an green and a light brown.
#74503
This troper has had two friends claim their eyes change color according to their mood or what they're wearing, but I only ever saw their eyes as brown and gray, respectively. Alternatively, one of my dormmates had the most gorgeous eyes: blue in the center outlined with green, and dotted with brown/green flecks.
#74504
This troper's eyes are kind of blueish-grey. The exaxct colour seems to vary a bit, from fairly bright blue to grayish, depending on the lighting.
#74505
This troper's eyes used to change from blue to grey to green. Now they are just green but they are so dark people think they are brown.
#74506
This troper has the 'one colour around the pupil, another on the border of the iris' kind of hazel eyes, with the former switching between brown and amber, depending on lighting, and the latter between green, foggy blue and sometimes blue-ish gray.
#74507
Almost everyone in this troper's family has blue/gray/green eyes that change colour based on lighting although this troper's are the most noticeable (predominately gray with a yellow ring around the pupil and bluer edges) whilst my sister's are mainly blue with at most a greenish tinge.
#74508
When this troper got his first job, he was unable to answer the eye color question on one of the forms he had to fill out. The person hiring him at first thought he was just being stupid, but in the end it took about five people looking at his eyes and debating amongst each other before they finally settled on hazel. This troper is still not convinced; sometimes his eye look grayish, other times nearer brown, and there's a brown ring near each of his pupils that stands out against the rest of his iris and never quite leaves.
#74509
@/{{Haven}}: I'm convinced my eyes are green, but everyone else seems to say they're blue or grey under different conditions.
#74510
This troper's eyes are dark brown most of the time, but certain kinds of light give them a hint of gold...
#74511
When this troper was younger her eyes were vivid blue. They are now a steel gray. When her BerserkButton gets pressed they turn turquoise.
#74512
Is that when her power level rises over nine thousand?
#74513
Could be. It happens mostly right after BerserkerTears. Interestingly enough I'm also a natural blonde. The {{Yu-Gi-Oh}} fans I hang out with joke that it's my yami form taking over.
#74514
For some reason, @/RadioactiveZombie's eyes go from black to brown at random. A dark brown, sometimes noticeable in plain light, sometimes if you lean in close.
#74515
This troper was born with bright blue eyes and almost white-blonde hair, and it stayed that way until puberty. As he aged, his eyes darkened first to gray, and then to gray with a brown tinge around the pupil, while his hair has changed from bright blonde to almost brown.
#74516
This troper's eyes are liquid-steel grey when you bother to take a good look, but from a distance alternate between grey and blue as the weather patterns alternate between cloudy and sunny. It often has nothing to do with whether or not she's outside, which led her to some interesting lines of thought as a kid.
#74517
Harshaw}} This troper has hazel eyes, that change often between green-blue, grey, and green-brown. His mood, or the color of clothing being worn seems to affect it often.
#74518
This troper's roommate's eyes are normally green, and turn yellow from the outside as he gets angry.
#74519
This troper's eyes used to change, but seemed to have settled on a golden hazel colour.
#74520
This troper has Brown eyes that turn dark red when angry, or look bright red when the light hits them a certain way. Needless to say, I've had people step back in shock for a second when a random red glint comes in my eye.
#74521
This troper has heterochromal eyes. That's not the freaky part. The eye that changes splits down the middle, EXACTLY down the middle. Still not the freaky part. It doesn't even happen all of the time. To save hassle, her license says 'hazel' eyes.
#74522
This troper is Asian, and as such has slanted, narrow dark brown eyes. Under normal circumstances they are so dark they seem black, and for some reason do not like reflecting light, which incidentally makes for extremely intimidating death glares. When she is in a good mood they appear to turn light brown, due to her eyes being slightly wider open than normal.
#74523
There was this kid in my elementary who had blue eyes with a yellow ring around the pupil and a green streak under that. It looked exactly like a sunflower.
#74524
Prudy ^_^
#74525
This troper has brown eyes with a noticeable green tinge to them (when light shines straight into them, they do not turn a reddish-brown, but a sort of greenish hazel). They become a more chestnut-brown when she is happy, and turn green when she is upset.
#74526
People just can't seem to make up their minds what colour eyes this troper has. She's pretty sure they're blue, herself, but she's had every colour udner the sun sugegsted to her, from green, to hazel, to grey to freaking ''cyan''.
#74527
This troper usually has piercing ice blue eyes, but run, if they turn to green! That means he's about to explode.
#74528
This troper's friend has the same thing, only his eyes go ''black'' when that happens. It's pretty freaky.
#74529
This Troper's eyes change from yellow to brown randomly. Usually they're lighter when it's sunny out, but not always.
#74530
This troper's eyes are blue-grey (and also look greenish sometimes) with a darker ring around the edge of the iris, and yellow-brown flecks. Pretty much everything short of ''red''.
#74531
This troper's ex-wife had eyes of completely indeterminate colour, which also changed with her moods. He thought it was just lighting effects until once, when she was extremely angry and staring completely fixedly, he saw them ''flickering blue-white''.
#74532
This Troper apparently has an interesting "true" eye color.. since in biology her teacher had her stand next to a bright light (perpendicular to herself so it shined across them) and suddenly everyone crowded around her going "ooooo". Also she can tell if she needs more sleep (they get green), or if she's having a particularly good day as they turn more brown. Neutral is a sort of "bog water" color. Sluggish brown/green.
#74533
Subverted by this troper. While his eyes' color is fixed, nobody seems to notice they're green until I take off my glasses.
#74534
This troper's eyes are a veritable explosion of colour, going (from the pupil out) yellow-greenish-blueis-grey-yellow ring around it all. Also, they change color at random, generally between greyish-blue and green, but once, he managed to avoid a fight by scaring off his opponent: he later told the Troper that his eyes changed colour to red, and he could see them changing while they were staring each other down. Demon eyes.
#74535
This Troper's eyes started out a bright, pure green, but went hazel as he grew up. They're brownish most of the time, but occasional go back to their old green or even yellow, seemingly at random.
#74536
This troper's eyes are blue. Exactly which blue appears to depend on the surroundings. Only when she wore glasses with multicolored frames did the reason why get revealed: they're full of flecks of dozens of different shades of blue.
#74537
Not color-changing (though they are hazel), but my right eye has a brown splotch in the iris.
#74538
This troper's brother has eyes that are constantly shifting colors over time, between green, hazel, brown, and gray. It's a gradual change, but his current eye color is not the color listed on his driver's license (they're currently gray, the color on his license is hazel). This troper himself is is another for the "guess the shade of blue" club, eventually revealed to be caused by being mostly light blue but with a band of dark blue around the outside of the iris.
#74539
My (I'm not getting known any time soon, but the "this troper" nonsense has to end.) eyes don't change color sporadically like some of the examples on this page (I wish they did, though. It sounds cool.) However, ever since puberty, my eyes have been shifting from a lighter blue-green to their present forest green. I've been told by several people that my eyes are my most engaging feature, so I suppose it's for the best.
#74540
@/EddieVanHelsing has deep blue eyes with a ring of steel-grey around the pupils. The grey ring expands whenever he's sick. The first woman he ever dated had blue-grey eyes, and one of her eyes had a wide streak of bright orange.
#74541
this troper's (@/KurtmanJP) eyes are either teal blue-green or blue-gray.
#74542
This troper has given up trying to figure out what color her eyes are. The closest she can get is to say that the iris in general is a sort of mottled blue/grey/green, with the entire thing bordered in very dark blue, with what look like pale gold bike-wheel spokes crisscrossing the whole thing.
#74543
There was a teacher in this troper's school... It maybe a rumour, but they say that her right eye changed colour AND size when she was angry. Weird.
#74544
This troper's eyes are a light brown in the center and EyesOfGold around the edges. In addition to possible slight central heterochromia, her eyes also turn a dark grayish-green/teal color after she cries.
#74545
Werewolf!
#74546
This Troper has green eyes. Or brown eyes. Or anything in-between, usually some shade of olive. His mother has it too, so he just assumes it's genetic.
#74547
This Troper has eyes that are brown in the middle, with either dark green on the outside or a lighter green on the left and right with cyan below and black above on the outside.
#74548
This troper has a weird version of this. Only happened once. I used to share a room with my sister, and we would stay up late talking. One night, I was in the middle of a sentence, when she interrupted me to shriek "Your eyes just glowed red!" I have spent countless hours trying to convince my eyes to do it again, and have been unsuccessful.
#74549
This troper has blue-green eyes. They change depending on lighting, she thinks, though some of her friends have mentioned that they've changed randomly.
#74550
This troper's eyes are consistently blue... it's just a question of what shade they appear to be. It tends to match or complement the nearest blue object. A pair of glasses with rainbow-tinged-blue frames she wore once revealed the truth: there are flecks of ''many'' shades of blue in them.
#74551
This (new) troper's ex girlfriend's eyes turned green when she was upset, grey when in the "middle zone"/bored and blue when happy. The troper himself can never determine what shade of blue his eyes are, ranging from light to deep blue and seemingly green at times.
#74552
This Troper's eyes are different from her parents'- both of them have extraordinary blue eyes (my father has a brown dot, though) and so does her brother but she has...grey. Which is green, sometimes, and REALLY grey some other times. Her eyes are either classified as blue or grey. Usually.
#74553
This troper had blue eyes when he was born, but at some point they turned brown. That said, this troper apparently has Kalediscope height, ranging anywhere from about 5'11" to 6'5", including be able to easily walk under a door one week, hit his head the next week, and then be able to walk under it again a week later.
#74554
This troper has a pair of (valid and fairly recent) [=IDs=], one claiming his eyes are blue, another grey. They currently seem to be hazel.
#74555
This troper vaguely remembers how, when she was a little girl, her eyes couldn't seem to decide if they want to be green or brown. Now they are a bit of both. And also, sometimes, usually when she hasn't had enough sleep, the green in her eyes turns lighter while the brown turns darker. And ''also'' a couple of years ago a part of the white of one of her eyes randomly turned red and stayed that way for a month. She also may or may not have kaleidoscope ''hair''. She's never really noticed it changing colour, but people have described it both as blonde and as dark.
#74556
The eye color field on my driver's license says "Hazel"; my brother once said that I have "Blond streaks" radiating out from the pupil. Mom claimed that my eyes reflected the color of whatever shirt I was wearing, e.g. blue shirt = blue eyes, green shirt = green eyes. I'm not ''quite'' an ocular chameleon, though, I don't reflect yellow or red.
#74557
This troper's first completely original character's eyes changed from brown to orange when he was excited. The explanation was that he was a werewolf, and his shapechanging was just a little too responsive.
#74558
Everyone in This Troper's immediate family has hazel eyes, which includes her into the mix. This results in her eyes appearing to be either green or amber, depending on the lighting conditions. Here are some pictures of her eyes under completely different lighting conditions.
#74559
This troper's eyes are basically like this, except the brown part is a lot lighter and smaller, only just hugging the iris. And darker blue. In really bright light, ''then'' you can see it. Her brother has light blue eyes with lighter pigmentation appearing gray around his pupils, only his is more apparent in non-intense lighting.
#74560
This troper's eyes are blue, but when her pupils dilate, they seem to turn green because of the absurd amount of flakes of green and a thick circle of it near/under the pupil. One of her friends is similar, but with instead has green eyes with blue flecks.
#74561
This troper's eyes are bluish-green normally. They are blue-gray when the weather is cloudy, and turn a ''very vivid'' sea green after she's been crying.
#74562
This troper's eyes can be gray, blue-gray, or green-gray depending on the lighting. They can also, very rarely, turn honey yellow.
#74563
This troper had blue eyes as a kid, which became greyish-green as she grew older-- not particularly interesting, except for the fact that for many years of her young life she was convinced they turned bright honey-gold when she was particularly happy, because her mother told her they did. Usually when they were somewhere without mirrors. She only realised a few years ago that dear Mum was just trying to flatter her fantasy-obsessed little daughter. On another note, though, her eyes do tend to look much greener when it's raining or cloudy, making it seem like they're greener when she's happy because she loves rain.
#74564
My mum has pale blue-green eyes, which seem to change colour depending on what she's wearing. It's occasionally a little startling to notice that they're distinctly green all of a sudden. You can see why she's annoyed that my sisters and I all got our dad's plain old brown eyes, right? Sometimes my eyes look a little orangey to me, but that may be wishful thinking.
#74565
This troper has greyish green eyes that definitely do not change color but will appear to be more green or grey in different light conditions.
#74566
This Troper has hazel eyes the Green/brown sort but during my childhood I believed they were brown but my mother would insist my eyes were green then my father would say they were brown, which caused me some confusion until much later in life.
#74567
This troper has green-brown eyes, and can attest to the fact they don't "change" color in real life. They may ''look'' like different colors, but they don't change.
#74568
What you most often see (green to brown) is caused by the fact that at different dilations, the areas of the iris either show or are crinkled up like fabric. Look close enough, and you'll see that the two are mixed - but from a distance, people will see it as being whichever color has the most visible surface area. That's also the reason it may vary based on mood, or as one person noticed, lack of sleep. Both of those affect the amount your eyes will be dilated.
#74569
It's rare for lighting to make brown look like a different color, but under certain lights green, grey, and blue can easily look like one another. It's similar to how a car may look like a different color at night or under certain lighting, even though the composition of the paint doesn't change.
#74570
This Troper's eyes are hazel (green/gold.) They turn green when I get angry (which probably has to do with pupil size) or wear green, and they are getting greener as I age. My father had the same shade of hazel eyes when he was growing up, but they are now completely green, so mine will probably end up green as well.
#74571
Go to Wikipedia's article on central heterochromia, and tie it in with the above explanation. This probably describes 99% of what people think of as color-changing eyes.
#74572
My eyes don't change color, but they look quite a bit greener when I cry - prolly cause of the red sclera (the white part).
#74573
This troper has several examples:
#74574
Her own eyes are hazel, but in the day, they have more brown in them. However, at night or really early in the morning, they've got much more green in them.
#74575
My grandma has bright green eyes. My mother tells me that if you wake her up any time she's sleeping, they're an almost startling yellow color.
#74576
One of my good friend's eyes are sometimes blue, sometimes green.
#74577
And finally, a friend of mine's eyes are (get ready) blue, surrounded by green, with a thin line of yellow surrounding the pupil. Needless to say, I always gushed about them.
#74578
This troper's eyes can look brown, hazel, gray, or yellowish, or an indeterminate mix of these. When one color is prevalent, you can still see the others if you look closely.
#74579
Again, several examples:
#74580
My soul sister's eyes are mood-based: she can go from near Golden Eyes to BlackEyes in ''very'' short amount of time. Her usual colour is a golden brown, which shows that she has a yellow ring around her pupil.
#74581
One of our mutual friends has striking GreyEyes (but her personality is far from that) that fluctuate from gold-grey to blue-grey to grey-yellow depending on lighting conditions
#74582
My own eyes are blue-grey with dominant grey, but unfocused they can go from light sky blue to concrete gray, depending on the lighting and how close to tears I am. Eyes focused, I also have a notable yellow ring around my iris, that in the proper lighting conditions makes me look manic because nearly half of my iris is suddenly a greyish yellow.
#74583
This tropes eyes have that blue-gray colour that makes it looks like the eyes change from bright blue, to grey, to green and back to blue again. My pupils are unusually large so when sitting in an ordinary room, my eyes look almost black.
#74584
Some people say my eyes are green, some people say they're blue and some people can't decide the color, causing long discussions about this. Sometimes I look at the mirror and they're leaf greened, but change the ilumination and they turn into a light blue as quick as you say "weird". This plus the fact that, until I turned five, my eyes used to be cobalt blue, has led me to an existencial crisis during most of my life. Worst part? My hair has the same problem.
#74585
This troper's eyes are usually dark green with a ring of cinnamon/copper brown on the inside near my pupils and a dark grey ring around the outside. However, my eyes will, quite randomly, change to bright green, dark green, dark grey, blue, yellow green, yellow amber (wolf eyes), dark brown, dark brownish red, black (those two are great for death stares), and have even sort of clouded over and gone really light greenish grey. Also, my boyfriend, on staring into my eyes, informed me that I have light grey, thin rings "under" my iris, almost like really old scars (the ones that turn white) only they aren't scars, they're part of my eye color. People will stop all the time in the middle of the sentences to a) tell me my eyes have changed color, or b) lean in, look closely at my eyes, and inform me that they are flickering between a bunch of colors, and then say "Oh, they're *insert color* now! That's so cool!"
#74586
This troper's eyes are normally brown in color, and that is the color listed on my driver's license and passport. However I and others have observed that my eyes will vary in color, from brown, to green, blue, and even Golden Yellow like that of a wolf, and occasionally sometimes even bordering of looking reddish brown, but not quite Evil Red.
#74587
This troper's eyes are usually blue with a ring of yellow-orange around the iris that end up looking like green. However, she has been complimented on her eyes with the color defined variously as green, hazel, blue, grey, and on occasion gold.
#74588
This Troper's mother has these. They're usually brown, but when she's being really emotional (one way or another) they're sort of olive green.
#74589
My eyes are normally greyish-green, but in some lighting they turn emerald green, silvery-grey or dark blue. I also have an golden ring around my pupil, and sometimes my eyes turn a goldish-hazel color. My mum's eyes are normally greyish-blue, but when she's angry, they turn steely, and when she's happy or affectionate, they are pure blue.
#74590
This troper's friends usually have a different answer when asked what color her eyes are. some answer dark green, some answer grey and others answer blue, even blue witha yellow rim around the pupil. its gotten to a point where i'm unsure what my actual eye color is,though i suspect its just grey-blue
#74591
This Troper's eyes are a very desaturated gray-blue. Depending on what I wear, they can range from sky blue to completely gray. If my eyes turn bloodshot, they become ''very'' blue.
#74592
I have grey eyes, I think. My eyes don't change according to mood (I've never bothered checking) but rather according to what I wear. Blue, grey, and green will make my eyes match (prompting lots of "Ohmygod that shirt matches your eyes ''perfectly'',"); while warm colors make them look grey. They also tend to look more grey when I'm tan, and using purple/gold eyeshadow keeps them grey.
#74593
This troper once saw emerald green eyes in his reflection in the mirror (they're normally a very dark blue), and he can't figure out why. He passed it off as a lighting trick (Upon closer inspection it couldn't have been) and never spoke of it again. It hasn't happened since.
#74594
According to my birth certificate, my eyes are grey. According to everyone around me, they are blue-grey-green. Different shirt, different colour. One day, the right's more green, another day, the left's more blue. I'm pretty sure people with ambiguously grey eyes are doomed to never be able to identify with a set colour. They're just...ambiguous.
#74595
This troper's eyes seem to change colour seasonally. In summer months, they are a deep green, and in winter months they are closer to a grey-blue.
#74596
This troper has brown eyes. They don't REALLY change color, but when I'm happy, my eyes open wider, making the brown show really clearly. When I'm not so happy, my eyes narrow. Less light, means less brown and more black. This, coupled with my ability to win almost any StaringContest makes for fantastic evil glares.
#74597
This troper's mother has the most frighteningly intense ice-blue eyes that to look at her you'd never expect that she's impossibly nice. This, combined with this troper's father's green, created her brother's head-turning aqua-green eyes that must be SEEN to be believed.
#74598
A while ago some of my friends ended up having a fairly intense argument over whether my eyes were light blue, grey, or dark blue. I was just about to take sides when I realised that I myself had absolutely ''no'' idea. They seem to change colour every five seconds.
#74599
This troper has green/gold eyes as the most regular colours but they will change to mossy or light green, grey, light and dark brown. It seems to have nothing to do with lighting or weather, on the plus side, I seem to have better night vision than most people I know.

This troper's eyes turn from blue to green depending on the time, of all things. They're generally bright blue during winter, and dull green by spring.

This tropette's eyes seem to change colors, but multiple factors have to be taken into consideration to determine the Eye Color of the Day:

Is it cloudy out? Grey.

Are you outdoors? Blue.

Is it dark inside? Green.
#74607

Is your outfit's dominant color anything but Blue/Grey/Green? Blue/Grey/Green ''mix''.

This troper has what she considers blue eyes that randomly change to a sea green or grey, sometimes in between. She figured it was one of those things that depended on lighting or what she was wearing, but she's been told in the middle of conversations that her eyes just changed colors.

This troper's eyes in a default state are stormy-ocean blue, with a pale yellow ring superimposed around the pupil and a deep-blue ring around the edge. Cool, right? It gets better. They function as mood indicators. When I am sick, sad, or upset, my eyes turn pale gray and the yellow really stands out. My mother can look at me and immediately tell if I am sick, just from my eyes.

This troper has blue eyes with a gold ring around the pupils, however in different lighting/depending on what she's wearing, she is told they look green or gray. And she does admit that her eyes look kind of green when she wears green. Also, in a fanfic this troper was working on, the main character had eyes that changed colour due to a curse that she was born with--this same character also could not kill because before she killed anyone or anything, she would always get a vision of the character's family. Her colour changing eyes had to do with when she was having a vision or not.

I have these to an extent. My eyes are normally somewhat hazel, but they can go green, brown, or occasionally even bluish depending on lighting.

Normally, my eyes are dark blue, but they can also look silver in early morning, which, I am here to tell you, looks pretty damn cool. But sometimes, people think my eyes are cloudy gray, and a few think that they're ''green'' of all things, and some people ask, "What color ARE your eyes, anyway?"
