This troper once went to a website that has a ''whole section'' built on this trope. In their mind, they were some major force to be reckoned with on the internet, and by "force to be reckoned with" I mean "prick." To make it even sillier, they put, in big letters, "'''DON'T FUCK WITH US,'''" with a picture of L directly below it. Way to keep it classy, guys.
#71266
Let's be honest: everyone. Even more so in this wiki, often overlapping with ADarkerMe. There's a point when it's not even comic relief anymore.
#71267
Say that my face, Buddy. You'll go home in a fucking ambulance. Uh, as long as you don't have Skype...
#71268
This troper fails at being one. The closest she's ever gotten to is being a Smug Snake, and Stepford Smiling the crap out of trolls to intimidate them away. It was either that or trolling trolls.
#71269
This troper used to be friends with one, as documented in detail on the SmugSnake TroperTales page. However, this Smug Snake Internet Lawyer was twelve/thirteen at the time, he lived with his parents and was homeschooled (online via worksheets) out in the country far away from anyone who could give him the support he needed (he had either Asperger's Syndrome or Narcissistic Personality Disorder misdiagnosed as it), was heavily and ''very'' poorly medicated (which this troper, who is also aspie, largely blames for fucking up his mind), and he threatened to arrest this troper for the things that he was guilty of (that is: make cyber-threats, threats against this troper's family, and even a couple death threats, harassment, libel), although he never did take legal action (because he knew that then he would be guilty). This troper was still friends with him, though, through most of it, because she thought that she could change him. However, he just kept getting worse and crazier, and eventually it got to be too much for her, even beyond her capacity to forgive, and she began to feel like the guilty and crazy one. She is no longer friends with him, and hasn't paid attention to what he's up to lately.

When DickRichardson is bored, he'll troll internet tough guys on YouTube for trolling practice (he's a shitty troll, anyway). One such FlameWar led to a shitty "revenge" video involving a speech-to-text saying "[my account name] is a faggot, fucking motherfucking shit" over a crappy MIDI DNB rip. It's hilarious, but the moron took down the video.

This troper collects and publishes a HUGE list on his blog.

Oh, you're saying I won't go crazy and kick everybody on earth's ass at a moment's notice? You want some of this? Wanna go? Well just come on down to my grandma's basement before my bedtime at 9:00 and we'll throw down.
#71274
Well then I'll be right over! I ain't scared of your punk ass!
#71275
I'll take the both of you faggots down with one finger... if my mommy lets me stay out past 8!
#71276
This troper pretends to be one just for kicks.
#71277
This troper woke up to find a failed attemt at someone trying to be this in his inbox one day. The message only said "i hate you. you stole my tmnt rank on the leaderboards." Needless to say, this message made this troper's day.
#71278
If you play Mitadake High, watch out for "Darknessed1427". He first threatened to punch someone through the internet. then he threatened to shoot them, then he threatened the HOST WITH THE SAME THREAT. AND EXPECTED NOT TO GET BANNED.
#71279
This troper is one, mixed with LovableSexManiac. He doesn't act like this in real life. He isn't sure which of his personalities is real.
#71280
This troper ran into one threatening to "find" people who said something he didn't like and saying "You better run," to me when I got tired of dealing with him. To be fair, I was acting like an ass at the time, but he was way worse.
#71281
This troper once observed a forum discussion which degraded with every single post. Complete with all the usual idiotic forum behavior. But this is where things really got ugly: The two most vocal opponents in the thread got so angry that they decided to "settle this in person." This led to one person actually ''posting his home address in a public forum'' so the other guy could drive out to his house. So, what subject could possibly be so important that it's worth revealing personal information online and/or risking potential real-life violence? '''''Dumb}} An argument about whether Apocalypse and Dr. Doom are overrated villains.'''''
#71282
This troper was once a Billing and Account Representative for Blizzard's World of Warcraft. Anybody who had been actioned for using foul language would spout the first ammendment. And anybody who was actioned for any reason was inevitably a lawyer or a relative of a lawyer. Threats to get me fired were also common - despite having only done my job, and having no authority over account actions.
#71283
Don't you love it when people use the First Amendment for everything, despite the fact that by playing the game they agreed to its private rules, and also despite the fact that Americans aren't the only ones who use the internet?
#71284
This tropers friend had a fairly memorable reply in a arguement between two Internet Tough Guys: "Internet Tough Men Fights! I need an adult! I need an adult!"
#71285
This troper is a customer service rep for an online gaming company. If they gave me a dime for every time I have personally read a threat of a lawsuit or shutting down the company I could retire to the Bahamas now.
#71286
This troper once got into one of those 'P2P is bad/it isn't/yes, and you are an intellectual property thief' flamewars. Complete with someone which '''always''' misunderstood anything I said, and that threatened to sue 'everybody in the forum, as they were all thieves'. Detail: the same guy actually used a "stolen" picture on his avatar. Needless to say, pretty much everything he said became Narm.
#71287
This Troper's friend was one til he met me. After being nice to him whenever he was nice to others, and we found out we had a lot in common. I talked to him for a few months about the things we both liked, I talked to him about the forums, and why he got so angry about things. I eventually got him to realise that I didnt like how he acted on the forums, cause I saw what a nice guy he is when hes in the right mood. He wanted to impress me as I was the first friend he ever had, so was nice to everyone, and ignored people who wound him up. He realised that people liked him better when he was nice, so decided to stay like that. Now he has been a year without getting banned. He did troll when drunk a few times, but now tries to stay away from the computer when drunk. He is a bit of a Tsundere now, only showing his angry side very rarely, and people like him now. I am an awesome admin.

I once had the pleasure of dealing with a troll who seemed to think we actually gave a damn what he said about us. After calling him a 400 lb virgin who hasn't left the safety of his mommy's basement in several years (this was several pages into a huge argument where he kept acting as one would expect a troll to) he threatened to come to my house to kick my "faggot pussy dick ass" (I have no idea what that is and have little desire to find out). After calmly reminding him that (A. He doesn't know where I live and probably doesn't have a means to find out, (B. That he has explicitly stated that he lives somewhere far away from me and thus will have a difficult time getting here, and (C. He's probably a 13 year old who likes to feel like a tough guy by threatening others and who probably isn't allowed to stay out past dark he decided to go back to calling me names.
#71290
So you were arguing that he was 13 years old AND making fun of him for being a virgin?
#71291
I once had an ITG threaten to "pound me into the ground," so I jokingly said that if she tried it, I'd report her to the Internets. That just made her more angry and she replied with something like "oh yeah? Just try it, bitch!" I hope this person was a troll and not just too stupid to live.
#71292
When dealing with an amature troll (which usually qualifies as one of these with no skills beyond name calling) it's fun to calmly snark the hell out of them and watch them slowly get more and more desperate to find ways to piss you off. It's also a great way to study the psychology of a troll (though it doesn't work with any troll with sub-par trolling abilities).
#71293
This troper encountered a tough guy claiming he'd beat up anyone who actually burned an American flag, he kept this up for a while and I eventually said (paraphrased) "Funny thing is, I can legally burn a flag and if [user] starts to assault me for it, I have a legal right to shoot him. Ain't this country great?" He didn't say anything after that.
#71294
All those poor Boy Scouts he must've accosted while they were simply trying to dispose of old American flags in the most proper of ways.... Seriously, the only proper way of disposing of an American flag according to national statutes set in place long ago is to burn it.
#71295
This Troper carefully avoids BioShock 2 Multiplayer matches where people boast harvesting the Little Sisters. When such a confrontation is unavoidable, I quietly post a link to the wiki pages which show just what plasmids, etc. they can earn from Tenenbaum/Eleanor's gifts.
#71296
I used to have this joke where whenever somebody went all tough guy on me and threatened to come kick my ass, I'd give them a false address in downtown Detroit, and ask them to show up at night wearing bright, primary colors. I thought it was a fairly obvious joke, but you'd be surprised how often people took it seriously. I'm sure none of them ever actually went there, but hey, I can dream.
#71297
Depressingly, on this very wiki. Look at the Troper Tales for Yandere, Heroic Sociopath, and most other insanity/violence related pages, and I GUARANTEE you will see a whole bunch of people saying shit like "this troper is a psychopath who dun give a fuck about killing".
#71298
This troper tried. Really, she did. She tried so hard. But the best she could manage was "eccentric," and everyone manages that. She can't even manage a proper BewareTheNiceOnes. If anything, this troper becomes ''nicer'' when online. This troper fears she may never become a true internet badass. Oh the shame and indignity of it all. *weeps*
#71299
This troper is a troll who loves jerking people around on the internet but now I just want to give you a hug and tell you that you're fine just the way are. If you yourself are some kind of troll-hunting internet Van Helsing, well played.
#71300
I'm sorry, you are just so adorable!
#71301
This Troper also becomes nicer when on the internet. I think the ability to think things over before you say them helps a lot.
#71302
This troper, a former troll, specifically targeted these kinds of people. His favorite line to use was "What're you gonna do, buddy? Kick my modem?"
#71303
I used to be one, or at least looked like one. I've always had a short temper, but I never wanted to hurt anybody(no matter how much they deserved it), so as a way to calm down I would make threats about doing horrible things to people. The resulting horror and disgust at what I was saying usually cooled my boiling blood enough for me to think properly, but it still scared the shit out of people who heard me saying "I'm going to cut a whole in that five-year-old's throat and have sex with it if I don't find my fucking pencil in twenty minutes!" under my breath. Naturally, when I first came to the internet, I tried to take that practice there. It didn't go so well, so now I've found other methods of calming down(like smoking pot).
#71304
I am personally ashamed for how I acted on the internet a few years ago. It may have been involved this behavior.
#71305
The popular formula these days seems to be hysterical tweener + Justin Bieber + Twitter = Internet Tough Guy. Anyone who doesn't like him (or even if they do, just ask Selena Gomez) is dogpiled with Tweets and YouTube videos threatening extreme violence and gory death. I think someone needs to spend some time in the Harmony Hut.
#71306
Asked a simple question about a Ball}} DBZ dubbed theme song suddenly this guy replies with a wall of text flaming me for liking the dub and of course the usual die in a fire line. His avatar was a drawing one of my friend's OC's and I replied to him. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't kick your ass after class Ced?" His reply. "I was just joking! I swear J!"
#71307
This troper plays an online RPG, and was threatened with death by an overzealous player who's friend was pwned by this troper. He changed his tune when he realized we were in the same city, and that I'm a US Army Staff Sergeant that likes guns and martial arts :)
#71308
Does it count if the person threatens legal harm to someone for bugging someone ELSE? Justifiably? And actually goes through enough to be able to follow through with it at a single phone call? Because if so I have quite a story to tell about a friend of mine...
#71309
This troper used to troll {{Newgrounds}} quite frequently just to watch these guys freak out. Literally, all I ever had to do was mention Runescape and they'd freak out, with all kinds of laughable threats and curses.
#71310
This troper was this as a preteen and teenager. I recall telling some guy " suck my dick" in some stupid argument about whether "rock stars" spend too much money, which I was wrong. I'm ashamed
