Believe it or not, it's not an ImprobableHairstyle at all, as this troper has one of these. This is definitely a subversion, though!

This troper often has do deal with this, thanks to having a double cowlick. It generally looks like a small cranial explosion rather than a tuft.

On the right-hand side, you've got spiky hair going sideways. On the left, it curls upwards. On the front, it looks like criss-crossing hay. And to top it all off, this troper has a receeding hairline, a developing bald spot and thin hair overall. And yet, despite all this, it matches perfectly with his personality.

This troper's hair is naturally curly. It requires extensive pruning to avoid IdiotHair, and he keeps it long so it falls into controllable ringlets instead of a nest of curls.

This troper tends to have a random 'hairstyle', changing every day, and it's more like morning hair that lasts the entire day. This rarely results in a 'pure' IdiotHair, as oftentimes the rest of the hairs would join the idiocy or it'd just be something else altogether, but there have been some more 'pure' instances of this.

This troper has relatively short dreadlocks. There's ONE, DAMN, DREAD, that has the tendency to stick straight up in the air... it's really annoying.

This troper's friend got a hair cut that looked like a bowl cut over a shoulder length cut. She put rainbow extensions in to fill it out because she thought it would make it look better.

This troper has long, straight hair. However, every time she brushes it in the morning, her bangs end up looking very teased, even if she tries to avoid it. She ends up having 80s hair.

If this troper isn't careful about how she blowdries and straightens her hair, it will all come out as a huge puffball that only reduces after a couple days if she doesn't wash it. She usually does straighten it, but there's ''always'' that one little wisp of hair that '''never''' seems to want to straighten properly, and is too darn short to do anything with it except clip it back and hope it'll stay.

This troper's planning to make a webshow, and is going to wear a wig to help with the whole anonymity thing that would otherwise be sacrificed with the use of visuals. Anyhoo, the wig chosen was supposed to be just a short blue one but, when taken out of the packaging, it revealed these lovely idiot hairs sticking out that probably ''could'' be settled down, but it's actually helping with the characterization of said troper's alter ego...so, they stay. ''Durrrrrrrr.''

I have very wavy hair, and it used to be pretty long. Never tried to straighten it, but those wisps were still very irritating. Especially when I wanted a ponytail or otherwise pull back my hair. Cutting it to shoulder length has lessened the problem a ''lot''.

This Troper has mostly straight hair... but there'll be hell to pay if she's rained on. Curls all over the place, sometimes sticking out in a 90 degree angle from her forehead. Dito one single strand of hair which grows out of a scar on her forehead, which is curly no matter was she does. It looks idiotic to say the least.

This troper has hair that grows pretty quickly and thickly. Add gel everywhere in an upwards motion, and he becomes some sort of Lion/Clown thing.

He's a pretty weird looking dog over all: he's an Irish setter, so most of his fur is red, but for whatever reason (he's supposed to be a purebred; this troper has papers certifying him as one) he looks a lot like a red-haired Afghan rather than a setter. The weirdest thing, though, is that all the hair on the top of his head is ''blonde'' and a lot longer than it should be. It can look pretty hilarious sometimes—Idiot Hairs are among the least exciting things that go on on top of his head. This troper, also, used to have one when she got her hair cut (or rather, was ''forced'' to get her hair cut). It was just long enough to put into a ponytail, but there was this one lock that has he misfortune of being just slightly too short to be tied back and being part of a cowlick (which this troper has many of, causing her hair to want to go straight forward and get in her face).

This is so me whenever I wake up. DANGIT HAIR CAN'T YOU SEE I'M DRESSED FOR GOING OUT IN PUBLIC.

I've been working on a {{Manga}} version of {{NCIS}}. I give Abby one strand of this, and I give two strands to Tony.

This Troper has long wavy hair which tends to stick out in all direction if it's cut any shorter. Once a bit of hair at the back of her head got burned in an unpleasant accident involving a candle. It looked kinda idiotic until it grew past my shoulders.

This troper's hair changes ahoge spots every day (when it's not in full AnimeHair mode), but wherever it appears it's impossible to flatten. On the day of editing, it's two spots above her ears. She also enjoys pointing out ahoge on others, especially if it's the classic spike on the whorl.

This Troper's hair does that too. Her short bangs on her forehead can't decide whether they go left or right, so they stick up. Sometimes she gets couple in front her ears, too. This looks unintentionally hilarious when she is on her stoic mode.

This troper has side bangs that look quite cute when they're laying how they're supposed to... and whenever she gets hit with wind one flys back and the other flys UP, giving her idiot hair. This prompts her to force them down and dart inside where it's safe.

The shortest strand of hair from this troper's bangs tends to stick up like this, especially when it gets windy outside. Although she is quite intelligent, it fits the bunny ears lawyer aspect of her personality.

Whenever I put my hair up in a ponytail, This Troper sometimes has one or two hairs sticking out, barely above her ear. They curl up a little, too, so whenever one of my friends sees it they say, "You have an Italy curly-thing today!"

Whenever this tropers hair gets to long, he gets awful cowlicks after he wakes up that stick out in all sorts of directions. Played straight, considering I am a bit of a ditz.

I have long side-namgs that curl -into- my face, and on the other side of my head, have an Italy-style curl that sticks straight out, and unlike my bangs, can NOT be conveniently clipped out of the way.

I invoke this at times either by hair gel or just bad shampooing. In either case, the definitions sticks.

Zanreo I occasionally get these without even having done anything. Sometimes it's just a strand of hair blowing in the wind, other times it stays up.

This troper has just recently managed to obtain a single thin strand of hair somewhere near the top of his head which sticks up before bending under its own weight and forming kind of a small loop up there. It's really hilarious to him, but all his friends don't care at all. Hmph.

This Troper has one. It's a strand of bangs that sticks straight up from my scalp and then falls to the right. Sometimes it falls in with the rest of my bangs, but only if I put anti-frizz serum on it and blow my hair dry, and then only for a few hours. I had this while my hair was long and frequently worn in a braid, making me look like Ed Elric. (Which sounds desirable, but really, on me, this look said "ditz who can't brush her hair" rather than "badass alchemy prodigy.") A few months ago, I had the braid chopped off in favor of a soft asymmetrical bob with long bangs. It should look classy, but with the idiot hair, and the bangs never parting in the right direction, I just looked worse. My hair has finally gotten long enough again that I can pin it up in back and brush the bangs to the side. If my hair looks like any FMA character now, it'd be closer to Hawkeye. Except for the (bleeping bleepity bleep) idiot hair.

I have two kinds of idiot hair, depending on how short my hair is. If it's very short, I get a cow lick over to the right of my forehead. If I have it longer, the hair on the top of my head goes feral due to my double crown, affectionately called the "cockatiel" look.
