This troper's sister was 5' 6" when she was NINE

This 13 year old troper is 5'8" and still growing. I think I might also have the...ahem... Most Common Superpower. I've gotton these thoughts the most from people...I'm 18, I'm a freakin' BIKER CHICK, or I'm a bully. I can understand 18 but, a BIKER CHICK?!

{{Truth In Television}}. I know I'm one, for example. 5'10" and rather broad-shouldered for a girl.

This troper is 5'10" and has a lot of trouble buying shoes.

Likewise: 5'10", (US) shoe size 12, and to top it off, bras in larger band sizes but smaller cups are also fairly thin on the ground.

Holycrap, story of my life. I have to wear weird brands of shoes as well, because I have exceedingly long, tall, thin feet. Like a clown.

So freakin' true. Only 5'9" with size 10 feet. But about the only shoes I can wear comfortably are Birkenstocks, flip-flops, and certain running/hiking shoes (anything with a tapered toe kills these duck feet). Add broad shoulders, a large frame, and being flat as a board. Let us commiserate.

This troper is in the exact same boat as the above troper, to the point that it's only the shoe mentions that ensures her that she did not write the above example (as she's worn pretty much nothing but running shoes her entire life, and has a high tolerance for foot pain). Add to the fact that she's fourteen and possibly still growing, and you have a somewhat unhappy troper. At least she isn't alone!

Once again 5'9'' and size 11 feet. At least I'm a pretty standard size eleven but those are still hard to find. Been around this height since middle school and was taller than my sixth grade math teacher.

This troper's wife is six feet even - she used to be extremely self-conscious about her height, until it was pointed out that it was a CharmPoint. She still ends up having to shop in the men's section of clothing stores half the time, though.

Not really. She's of fair complexion, light brown hair, and still a bit self-conscious about her size when out in public. She also still has a couple behaviors which show she wishes she was shorter. She just deals with it much better these days.

This troper is the uncle of two six-foot-tall nieces. Fortunately, their grandmother was once a professional seamstress and taught them how to modify their own clothes. But this hasn't dampened their love lives. The younger one even became a cheerleader. If anything, they're TOO attractive (Both mothers before they were 20... oh my heart... ).

Subversion: At 5'5.5" in middle school I was the Huge Schoolgirl surrounded by 5'0" friends, and everyone thought I'd be 5'9" like my mother, or maybe as tall as my dad (6'4") once I was fully grown. It turns out I was fully grown already and my friends were taller than me by the time middle school ended.

What is it about 5'5.5"? This troper had exactly the same experience and final height. It can be tough being an early developer.

Same here! This troper isn't completely sure if she's 5'5.5" or 5'6", though, having not actually measured herself for a while... In any case, this troper is inclined to blame her awful sleeping habits for her failure to gain any more height, though, rather than mere biology, since she was consistently tall all through childhood and then stopped growing at about 14, approximately the same time her sleep cycle went from slightly night-owlish but essentially normal to ''completely bonkers''. (As in, it became about 26 hours long rather than 24, causing it to move around relative to conventional Earth time, and I developed a penchant for staying up anywhere from 24 to 40 hours on a whim.) Of course, her dad is pretty short for a guy, and her mom is only slightly taller than this troper, so it's possible that it ''is'' genetics.

One more (Hazuki) for the six-footer brigade! It's kinda fun actually. I like mens' clothes too, so wearing mostly jeans and t-shirts doesn't bother me.

Throughly averted at my school, much to my disdain. Most are barely the same size I was in 6th grade. Now, most males don't want women taller or stronger than them, but I'm on the opposite end of the scale entirely.

This troppette was 5'6"... by ''2nd grade.'' Add that to the fact that she was a total spaz with no impulse control, and the end result was... well, kind of horrible. ...Now she's 5'9.5", and very broad-shouldered.

ThisTroper was acquainted with a huge schoolgirl before graduating towards university. I never got exact measurements but I'd estimate around 6 foot. I hear she's training to row for the UK in the 2012 Olympics now.

Absolutely TruthInTelevision. This troper is an assistant teacher at a Japanese middle school, whose new freshman class this year contained TWO Huge Schoolgirls, both well over 170cm. Being towered over by twelve-year-old Japanese girls was quite an unusual cultural experience, as were seeing the sports teams fight over them - only to have one join a sports team outside the school, and the other join the band. (The same class also contains an even bigger Huge Schoolboy, who did join the kendo team amid much rejoicing. However my hopes that he would team up with the 141cm. senior girl to battle the forces of evil are yet to be realized.)

This Troper is 5'11", the tallest woman in her family, and was always the tallest girl when she was in school. Looking for pants that REACH YOUR ANKLES when you are that tall is a real pain in the butt. Also, she is very ... curvy. Bra shopping is also a nightmare, since her back and shoulders are broad enough to allow her to comfortably wear men's shirts (which she does sometimes).

In This Troper's high school, there was a girl on the JV cheerleading squad who was almost twice the size of every other girl on it. Not only was she tall, but she had the physique of someone who would have StoutStrength rather than a traditional cheerleader frame. In other words, she was chubby, didn't fit into her cheerleading outfit, and being twice the size of the other girls really stood out.

My little sister is 13 in less than a month and 5'9. We're a pretty tall family in general though.

In his senior year in college this troper met one HugeSchoolGirl one year his junior (don't know her actual height, but she was definitely taller than every other girl who stood next to her), who was a real hottie too. He knew a girl in high school who was considerably taller than him, but he found her cute anyway, what with her pretty face and GenkiGirl personality, either in spite of or partly because of how tall she was.

If I were anywhere else, I think my 5'10" height wouldn't be so bad. The fact that I'm in Taiwan and the average height is 5'3" makes me seriously depressed. That's a good 7 inches over pretty much everyone (except for the Americans.)

Reading this page made me jealous like you wouldn't believe. Recently I've stopped growing at 5'5", but since I was about nine I've wanted to be six feet tall. I wouldn't even mind learning to alter clothes or wearing men's clothes -- I think I'd make a pretty sweet {{Bifauxnen}}. I've also always wanted to have really big feet so I could wear men's shoes.

My younger sisters and I were and are really tall compared to others (I'm even taller than my parents!), but it was awkward in grade school when I was not only one of the tallest girls in class, I was the most developed. My female classmates did not ignore this.

I'm not this trope. However, I have a friend who used to be and she says that getting shoes isn't too hard if you know where to go. This troper is well aware of how subjective this trope can be: During middle school, I stopped growing at about 5'8", but was actually close to the median height for the girls in my class. Skip forward a few years (and a school transfer): I'm the same height, but now I'm taller than most of my female friends (who average about 5'4") not to mention a good portion of my male friends as well.

Same here! She almost always gets mistaken for being OlderThanTheyLook, and once she got to the Philippines, she was once mistaken for being ButNotTooForeign (also in part due to me only speaking English.) When questioned about this, I always said I was just growing early, and I seem to have stopped.

This troper is a transgirl, and a teenager, but I skirt the line between 6'3" and 6'4", Normally this would suck, but I only have size 9 feet, and have wide hips and small hands, and no Adams-Apple, the only bad thing this brings is a minor case of man-shoulders. This currently 16 year old troper had random growth spurts throughout her life, and was always mistaken to be at least a few years older than she really was (heck, the doctor predicted she would be 6'4 at full height!).
