This troper once made a video called, "What the..." It was just him messing with Windows Movie Maker, slowing down a clip of Light Yagami laughing maniacally. He also made anime music videos, fandubs, parodies, etc. He made some much more quality work on that channel and others after it. When it came to making that video, he spent all of 2 minutes. Guess which one, that was up before the account got closed, had over 10,000 views and plenty of five star ratings. He decided to not upload videos unless they were done in more than an hour or so, and of quality.

For a class assignment, I wrote a screenplay that I hated (since A: it was a comedy with next to no humor, and B: it was a ripoff of an old, non-mainstream arthouse film). However, since I had nothing else to turn in, and since nobody seemed to care that it wasn't totally original, I had to use it for the class assignment of making a short film. My resentment grew when I had to shoot the movie ''twice'', due to one of the actors cutting his hair before the movie was finished.

People have claimed I'm a great writer. I don't see what's so special, in fact I see it as amateur-ish, lacks a sense of style, and sometimes cringe at the memory of them.

Hold on guys, they say that the artist is always their own harshest critic, so there could be some validity, but you're too hard to see. This doesn't quite sound like CreatorBacklash proper to me.

This troper plays a character on an internet roleplay that has become inexplicably popular and well-loved, far beyond any of his other characters. Problem is: he absolutely loathes the character (the troper himself is negative and snarky, while the character is ditzy, naiive, and unendingly happy, making him incredibly hard to play). His desire to drive a pickaxe through the character's chipper, "adorable" little face grows stronger every post.

In my spare time, I like to {{MST}} fanfiction. ''My own fanfiction''.

0dd1: For a while now, I've been mulling the idea of [=MSTing=] a SoBadItsHorrible AbridgedSeries...one that I myself made (similar to the above troper). (A link to it shall not be posted in order to protect the innocent.)

0dd1: Also, I was once an avid maker of YouTubePoop videos, and while I still enjoy watching YTP, I've grown to resent my own ones. I look at them and think they're stupid. (The fact that I made most of these videos when I was 13 or 14 [during my pretentious preteen phase, no less!] doesn't help; my guess is that I've just matured since then, but it's probably just gas.) I've especially grown to hate my most popular one on my current YouTube account (though thankfully not my actual most popular video, which I feel is deserving that crown), but that one is mostly due to ArtistDisillusionment resulting from a MisaimedFandom of Complete Idiots. I am outright hostile to some people in replying to comments on it and I THANK people who say it sucks. Similarly, there was one person who decided to steal the video and post it on his/her account. I've taken to mocking the people commenting on it that are ''defending '''me''''''. I am ''that'' sick of that video.

I can identify with 0dd1 above. On my previous YouTube account, RockinAmadeus, I had a video titled "YouTubePoop: Spongebob Watches a Really Bad YouTubePoop" that was one of my first videos ever. Three years later, I realized the irony of the title when I rewatched the video for the first time in a long time...and ''hated it''. (I could have passed that off as the very point, but I hated it too much to even try that.) Meanwhile, over 50% of my viewers had seen it, and the total view count very well could have broken one million. Being banned may have been the best thing to happen to me, since now I can peddle my DJ skills and show off more than three albums' worth of popular songs mixed with video game tunes. Turns out I still can't win; hardly anyone watches the music mix videos, "My Brick" is my greatest musical embarrassment, and I have never attempted to make a mix with Flo Rida's "Right Round".
#28463
I actually hated some of my older poops and videos to the point where I deleted many of them. A couple of bad ones I left up, but put a gigantic annotation over them. Most of my videos before "kermit dicks himselph" suck.

This troper recreated the 'Tundra Rap' from TheMightyBoosh using TheSims 2 in about fifteen minutes and uploaded it to YouTube. It wasn't exactly that 'successful', but it did get far more views than her 'serious' machinima. She now hates the video and created a new channel just to get away from it.

When I began writing fanfictions, many people enjoyed reading my stories and I garnered many favorites and watches. A few years later, my writing has drastically improved from the beginning, but the fics I make with higher quality writing gets shoved to the side by others and my older hideously written stories still get more fame. Especially the one with the beyond poor writing, SelfInsert, CharacterDerailment, JumpingtheShark chapter, and uncalled for GenreShift. I'm currently rewriting it with my current style, but I honestly think some of the readers will cry blody murder on me.
#28466
I have the same problem. The oldest fanfic on my account, a crappy Mpreg which is not only 100% OOC, but doesn't even have consistent fabricated personalities for all the chracaters, and had each plot element thought up as I typed it, is at least 50 times more popular than anything I take the time to plot out, put the care of keeping characters in character for, and actually have nice, non-squickish plots.

This tropette once uploaded a trailer for an upcoming TV special. I should add that the method of recording said trailer was to hold my iPhone in front of the TV and that I only did one take because I wanted to get it up ASAP. It ended up getting over 5k views, even after the special aired.

For a {{LOST}} RPing site I frequented about a year ago, I created a female character who was one of Ben's closest subordinates, and happened to be hopelessly in love with him. Within a week she became a {{Fountain of Memes}}; when the site imploded, her memetic status made me want to never pick up her character again. I just recently revived her for a different RP, where she talks much, much less, to avoid meme-making.

This troper found an old fanfic of hers staring a complete MarySue in her desktop. She deleted it on the spot.

This troper once wrote an {{Inuyasha}} parody in the style of BoredOfTheRings for a school project. Looking back, I consider it a massive failure, despite it ''somehow'' getting an A for my grade, because the story followed a bit ''too'' close to the episode it was parodying, and the jokes weren't funny at all, some bordering on SeltzerAndFriedberg levels of bad. However, after seeing other high quality parodies like TheAbridgedSeries, EightBitTheatre, Airplane! (which one of my classmates said my story should have been like) and BoredOfTheRings itself, I'm willing to take another shot at an Inuyasha parody one of these days....right after I destroy all the copies of my first story my professor made me print and give to the class for their opinion.

Over the years, This troper has begun to hate the prequel to one of his stories. At the time of writing it, I though it was pretty good considering it was my first attempt as writing something DarkerAndEdgier than my usual works; which are usually light-hearted and comedic. Looking back on that nearly 5 years later, I honestly can't stand it anymore; it relies too much on poorly-executed {{Wangst}} to make it seem dark, while the ending was so wildly different in tone that it falls under being a BigLippedAlligatorMoment.
#28472
This Troper once made a Sims 2 machinima that, at the time, she liked. Now, she views it as a childish first experiment and has gone on to writing WorldOfDarkness and {{Warhammer40000}} stuff. (Other factors may have been her complete flip-flop in background music taste and not being able to watch many of the earlier videos without cringing.) Of course, the machinima still has fans... which is why she never bothered to delete the account. She still won't tell you what it was called, though.

Tropers/{{Excel-2010}}. There were guys called Excel 2004, Excel 2005, Excel-2006, and Excel-2007. It is generally agreed that Excel-2008 is the first incarnation that made an active effort to be important.
#28474
Tropers/{{aishkiz}} goes through this in what may be record time, coming to hate any piece of writing or music he finishes almost immediately after it's finished. Or before it's finished. It's extremely rare for me to like anything I produce (unless it's the thing I'm working on at the time, which will ''totally'' be SoCoolItsAwesome and make everything else I've ever done irrelevant once it's done).
#28475
I looked back at my old fanfiction. I cringed at the content, then cringed at the many reviews.
#28476
This troper knows all about that. There is a fanfiction, still on my Deviant Art page, wich I wrote some time ago. Looking back at it, I know I dug myself into a plot hole wich there's just no getting out of, and stopped. To this day, people are still adding me to their watchlist and demanding that I pick it back up.
#28477
This Troper violently cringes when reading his pre-2010 Fanfiction but can't bring himself to delete any of them.
#28478
I caught wind that the creator of TheUglyBarnacle page is apparently totally hates it now. I don't know why I think this is situation, but I do. -Dr.Starky
#28479
This troper looks back to his older fanfiction and can't believe he wrote them. Horrible grammar, bland jokes, abysmal plot, all the characters acted the same, and they were mainly a gateway to write about his fetishes (that he didn't know were fetishes at that age).
#28480
This troper can't bring himself to think about '''any''' fanfiction written between 2001 and 2006, the latter year being the one where I actually started getting my own ideas. From incredibly lame writing, to borrowing too heavily from fanfics which inspired me (even if I was considerably younger at the time, and not really aware of the fact that it'd be considered borderline if not direct {{plagiarism}}), I think...gah, I damn well hope I'm the only person who even remembers they ever existed. The things I'd give to be able to go back in time and retcon my life, so none of those were ever written...
#28481
I wrote something online that I admit I find funny. It's not that people don't like my other works, but it's the most viewed of my works on that site and gets the most comments than anything else I do by a considerable margin. I do follow-ups of that one just to see if it'll get more attention than an average work of mine. But even its sequels are overshadowed in terms of comments and stuff. I'm not particularly bitter about it, but I do wish people would notice my other stuff.
#28482
I so greatly grew to despise a certain character in my literary universe that I completely retconned him out of existence, along with his entire species. This meant deleting several stories, as well as editing out huge sections from a NanoWrimo novella. Back down to 30,000 words, alas.
#28483
Once upon a time, this troper submitted something to DeviantART; it was an emoticon of two little dudes playing DanceDanceRevolution. I woke up the next morning with an inbox full of comments and favorites. It was nice for a while since it was the first time anything I'd uploaded had gained so much recognition, but after a year or two I was still getting comments on my ''user page'' like "I love your DDR emote!" and eventually I took it down because I was tired of my other artwork, that I put actual effort into, going unnoticed. A similar thing happened with another emoticon I made, one that apparently started a whole emoticon trend. I legit had one person say they wanted to kill themselves when I deleted it. Dude, I'm sorry, I'm just tired of my other work being ignored in favor of little pixel guys that took an hour ''at most'' to whip up in Photoshop.
#28484
This Troper actually enjoys her old fanfics...except for the blatant {{Self Insert}} {{Mary Sue}} characters. Years after realizing what she had done, she started a {{Darker and Edgier}} fic where one {{Mary Sue}}...changed.
