Clearly, Pokemon music beats everything.

This Troper gets insanely pumped up from the rap/war-march he has in iTunes entitled "We Came to Expel the Darkness". On the rare occasion that he gets to kick ass, take names, and generally be awesome, it definitely sums things up. To ''really'' get pumped, he listens to the lead-in track just before it that features nothing but a voice over ''the sound of drums'': "ta ta ta ta ti-ti-ti ta ta".

This troper always listens to music while writing his MazingerZ / NeonGenesisEvangelion crossover fanfic. Any kind, actually, just for the sake of it. But when the time for a massive fight has come... Cue JAMProject !

Going to Pokemon Stadium 2, the music that the game chooses is the "Route 2" Remix. Cue killing off of Star Fox, Toon Link and Ike with ''Olimar'' (with no Finals Either!) in record time.

While "MusicForCourage/ to get pumped up" is really common for this troper, it's probably more fit for this trope the fact that he wakes up in test days with always the same songs ("Morning Glory" by Oasis and "Dead Horse" by Guns N' Roses).

I've made Buried Alive By Love by H.I.M. my theme song. It started playing in my head as I was dashing up some stairs on my way to do this big final presentation, so it's retroactive, but that still counts, right?

I play it whenever me and my BashBrother are going to clear a campaign on ''{{Left 4 Dead}}'', whenever I'm about to walk an epic distance or whenever I just need to feel badass. It works.

After reading that, This Troper made a playlist called Kickass Tracks. As of now, it's 54 songs which consist mostly of video game CrowningMusicOfAwesome, Three Days Grace, and random stuff. Dying too much in Red Mountain? Listen to that playlist (specifically This Machine, Technical Difficulties, Through the Fire, What I'm Made Of, and Get Out Alive).

Okay, might not count, but I recently did a French Higher GCSE. I was finding the Reading section a bit tough, then, SUDDENLY, I understood ''everything''. I then realised that I was tapping out the Sound of Drums from ''Series/DoctorWho''. I now do it all the time, even managing to get it into my friends' heads.

Same troper again. I was having trouble beating the Champion on Pokemon Heart Gold, so I put on "Eye of the Tiger" and kept replaying it. I won to the sound of that song.

This troper recently got his hands on BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger for the PS3. I usually win against my cousin, but now and then he gets in a good streak. My response? Select Ao-Iconoclast for the background music. It doesn't always work, but it still makes me feel like a total badass.

Whether it's for studying, playing video games, or exercising at the gym, Look Back in Anger by David Bowie never fails to get this troper pumped.

For this troper, the song is "Joy" by VNVNation. A sheer blast of symphonic-electronic-industrial defiance and my favorite song of all time. And yes, I could go on about how the lyrics reflect the depths of my soul etcetera but hey, I won't bore you.

A friend of mine was playing in a {{Robotech}} RPG, with the ''SuperDimensionFortressMacross'' soundtrack on in the background for flavor. He was having a terrible rolling streak, and could not seem to hit anything... until the "Dog Fight" theme started playing just as he was about to make an attack roll. He rolled a critical!

This troper gets a hell of a rush when he listens to "[For the Craftworld][[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrzW0PFjsjQ]]", from Dawn of War 2. This rush is enough to earn a significant kill ratio in Counterstrike, even while shooting to the overall slow but inexorable rhythm of the music.

This troper isn't a good runner. Come running day in gym class, and I bring my iPod since we're allowed to use iPods on that day. The first song that popped up on my iPod was my favorite song in the whole wide world, which is Drunken Lullabies by Flogging Molly. I found out that I did pretty good on my run because I had my iPod with me.

This troper was joking with her anime club friends when one asked how the villains always know who the weakest is, to which she answered the attack the ones without theme music first.

He also once got stuck on the E4 in a run of Pokemon LeafGreen and started running through it with Mezase Pokemon Master from the anime playing off my computer, and won without a single KO on my side.

This Troper and his friend once beat an entire Star Wars Battlefront 2 campaign in one go by playing soundtracks from How To Train Your Dragon and Ace Combat. Their skill diminished considerably whenever a track ended, so they had to keep playing more. This Troper still keeps himself motivated with movie and video game soundtracks.

I like to listen to my Ipod while playing League of Legends. I have a lot of Guilty Gear, King of Fighters, and Black Mages music on my Ipod and songs from those series get me going. I once survived a 2v1 with Xin Zhao against a Jax and a Vayne while listening to the Zeromus fight theme from Final Fantasy 4. I felt near invincible afterword.

This Troper was playing a round of ''MarvelVsCapcom3'' as the Weapon X trio (Wolverine, X-23 and Deadpool) and, during one match, started to fumble badly due to a few idiotic mistakes. While trying to recover, my bro had randomly cued up a song he saved on YouTube: "The Meaning of Truth" from the F-Zero anime (the Falcon Punch song). Color myself amazed as I found myself coming back and winning by that. We both agreed it was awesome.

This troper was playing MortalKombat9 and was getting my ass kicked by the final boss in story mode Shao Kahn. Once I played the original Mortal Kombat theme though.
