The highlight of This Troper's senior high school year was the Christmas talent show/concert/dance. There were a number of great rock bands among the skits and performances, including an especially good one consisting of good friends of mine. One of them, the incredibly talented guitarist, wasn't from our school but was well known and a good guy. Anyways, the performances concluded with some talk by the faculty and student council, then the school song before they started the dance proper. Only this year, the band mentioned above started riffing in halfway through the opening verse. It ended with the student council and most of the performers up on the stage singing the song, said incredibly talented guitarist on his knees peeling off an insane guitar solo a la Slash, and the entire audience singing along and cheering. ''Everyone'' - from the hip hop clique of kids to the computer geeks to the ladies from the all-girls school up the street - was going ''completely fucking nuts''. \m/n(>_<)n\m/ It was quite righteous, and a deal better at developing school spirit than some dumb pep rally.

Any metal-heads on here? IF you are, have you ever played the game of scaring everyone around you? I do it all the time. Playing death metal and black metal on an Ipod with the volume loud enough for anyone nearby to hear. Half the people will freak out. I've used this method to clear a seat on the bus once. An old lady sat down next to me and so I turned up the volume. At the very next stop she moved to the opposite end of the bus and I got to put my feet up. It's win-win.

This troper has two tales, one past, one future to relate. This troper used to be an Australian Army Marksman, and as is common, his unit had a "Theme song" of sorts, a heavy rock song that they usually blasted while getting geared up, psyched up, and transported out on exercise. His unit's traditional song to set blasting in the ASLAV? "Shoot To Thrill" by AC/DC

The second tale is about this troper's coming home from two years abroad - his mates have pledged that they shall pick him up in a convoy of Cars, utes, 4x4s and Vans owned by his friends and family, and the lead vehicle will be blasting Spiderbait's song "Four on the floor". This troper's mates are well acquainted with the power of rock.

This troper remembers getting mad at his mum one day, and blasting "Tie You Mother Down" by Queen untill she made him stop.

While jamming one day, this troper and some fellow musicians improvised a thrash metal tune. As he was playing, this troper began to notice a slight pain in the knuckles on his right hand, but thought nothing of it. When the song eventually ended, he glanced down at his knuckles and noticed several bleeding cuts - he had been playing so fast he'd actually ''cut his knuckles'' on his guitar strings. TL;DR: This troper once played metal while bleeding all over his guitar.

This troper would like to inform you that that is the most fucking metal thing ever.

This tropette has specifically designed playlists and mix cds to invoke this trope. Seeing as classic rock/metal is one of my favorite genres, I invoke it frequently, usually when I'm in a really good mood, or want to be in a really good mood. "Highway to Hell" and "Ramble On" never cease to make that first warm day of spring/cool day of fall feel like the highest point of life when you roll your windows down and blast them as you roar down the highway.

This troper has a playlist on his phone consisting entirely of badass songs, positive songs, motivating songs, songs that invoke good memories and other songs that make his feeling gauge go ReadingsAreOffTheScale. The title of the playlist? CMoA. I guess it stands for the other CMoA too, cause that's what this troper feels when listening to Thunderstruck.

One time during AP US History Class, this troper's teacher decided to play some music to motivate us to work. The song he played? "Another Brick in the Wall Part 2" by {{Pink Floyd}}(Ironically, it worked).
