I happen to like RealLife! Sure, people are impolite, rude and sometimes may even kill you, but it's far better than the alternative! There are so many colourful characters, amazing possibilities and things to explore.

This troper quite likes real life, the graphics are lovely, though they enter {{uncanny valley}} rather frequently, and the plotline experiences {{mood whiplash}} a bit too often. I have met many kind people through real life, though there also seems to be some sort of problem with {{troll}}s, especially in certain areas though the moderators don't appear to be doing much to resolve this.

This Troper can't figure out how to uninstall RealLife.

Plug the "gun" peripheral into the "mouth" port, then run "trigger.exe." This will force a shutdown and wipe your memory. Make sure you really think it over, though. It usually bricks your system.

Real Life is okay. The graphics are awesome but the grinding just ''sucks''. This troper's been a Level 1 Temp for ''two years.''

Not to mention the StatGrinding. It's not even permanent! And don't get me started on the fetch quests, escort missions, overly-complicated dialogue trees, {{NPC}}s, etc., etc....

This Troper actually found a ROM of Real Life, but you ''really'' don't want to download it. There are glitches everywhere, the [=NPCs=] keep telling me to buy the game even though I'm playing it. It gets old very fast: "Get a real life, sheesh!" Every single 5 minutes. However, I applaud the realism of the physics engine.

The graphics aren't all bad, either. The detail level of textures is probably the best I've seen so far. Big minus for the repetitive gameplay, though. Oh well, at least the {{Dream Sequence}}s can get quite imaginative.

Unfortunately, mods are quite severe with cheaters, and you apparently don't have the possibility to restart at an easier level... The only real way to gain bonuses, outside of random events, he's to go with the actual difficulty and try harder. Or not.

Gathering those flat green objects seems to make things easier. But the quests for them take years and require many skill points.

It's been 17 years that I started Real Life, and I haven't finished it yet.

I've only been at it for fifteen years; I hope I won't finish anytime soon! Currently I'm in the risky Crush level, hopefully I finish with a high score.

This Troper has been playing a mind-numbing 18 years. I tried quitting twice, but It didn't work. I'm almost done with the 'high school' level and I'm looking forward to the 'college' level up next. A whole new server! It takes a metric fuckton on money to reach it though.

I've been at it 22.5 years. The college level is the hardest so far, but the bosses aren't too intimidating. It really eats up hit points, somehow, though.

This Troper is 18 and ready to finished the "school" level, and this trooper has signed a contract for 4 years to enter the service and will enter a "PvP Zone" a Game of skill, will and luck, at best this troper may come home with respect and buffs physicaly and connections. Not to break the lighthearted real life streak, but for this admittedly teenaged troper, her unusually high level of intelligence is generally this. Sure, I know tons of stuff and I love knowing the stuff and I love figuring things out, but let me list some of the downsides.

People always assume she's arrogant, thinking that she thinks she has all the answers

If she is the only one pushing a true point (say, an error of fact or pronunciation) in the entire group of people she's in, no one listens to her and she has to agonize over whether it was right to speak up in the first place

Classes full of slightly stupid people seem like endless, torturous hells full of juvenile idiots who are so unintelligent as to seem barely competent in all non-physical matters

Trying to do anything about it comes across as arrogance, even though it's just self-preservation due to a lack of desire to be slowly driven insane

When you ''can't'' figure something out or don't know something, it irks you for a long time. Similarly, if you were unable to figure out something that seems simple, you can't stop kicking yourself about it. In short, the smarter you are, the less likely you are to be wrong, but the less likely you are to be wrong, the wronger you will eventually be.

Which is how I pull of the impression of knowing the answer almost everything. It's a blessed with suck within a blessed with suck, because I'm actually just terrified of giving the wrong answer to something.

Worst, prejudices. People hate your intelligence, envy it, disdain it. You'll inspire disgust and despair. You'll annoy your teachers and piss off your classmates, and I presume the same would happen in a job (with superiors for teachers and peers for classmates). Even people you care about will get jealous sometimes.

One bright side to the bit where no one ever really accepts you is that when someone ''does'' accept you, be it because they're willing to look past your intellect to your personality or because your intelligence fascinates them, you can generally only sustain a friendship with them if they're very close. This means that the few friends you'll get will be very close, very devoted friends, whom you're devoted to as well. There are very few things more rewarding than friendship that close.

There, and that wasn't even touching on the whole scholastic aspects as mentioned in the 'real life' section of the main page.

Well okay. One more thing. Spoilers. I'm very good at finding things out prematurely. Most people, they need a spoiler spelled out for them. Me, I've spent enough time trying to think like a detective (out of sheer curiosity towards my potential), and being good at it for a non-fictional teenager, that I can piece together a spoiler from one or two misplaced words. I'm almost never surprised. Which is why when I am, I tend to rejoice for like a week. Like when my friend's friend impersonated my friend over a chat server, and actually had me going, I liked her a lot. Or when I read a particular short story by Neil Gaiman (the plot twist of which was so epic I won't even tell you which story it was for fear of giving any hint of anything away).

Fuu... It's a relief to know there are people like me (at least in this aspect.) Maybe the rest of my sanity won't slip yet.

This troper found Real Life boring and miserable and wanted to quit the game for a while, but friends said it would get better. It's not as miserable anymore, but still quite boring.

That's the problem with Real Life. Too many of the more interesting story paths carry the most hazard to your character. I'm guessing it's a built-in deterrent to prevent people from becoming trolls, griefers, or PKers. Doesn't stop some people, but what can you do?

RealLife is great sometimes. I mean, there are annoying plotlines and characters sometimes, and the cast of characters is a little hard to keep track of, but ISN'T IT JUST SO AMAZING?!? It's so realistic, and sometimes even so full of depth. You might even say it's like...RealLife. I even have a screenshot of it as my desktop background, I'm that big a fan of it.

This troper finds the stat system incredibly intricate. I'm glad that I rolled a moderately high INT, but my WIS, STR, and CHA are pretty low. Plus, my character was randomly assigned the ADHD de-buff. Fortunately, I also got assigned into a white upper-middle class family and paid extra during the school level to upgrade from the public servers to private.
