HotBlooded
#65153
This troper, while normally unassuming or wangsty, tends to have brief moments of HotBlooded, but I'm usually brutally straightforward, like most hot blooded characters.
#65154
I have spent most of my life dealing with the fact that most people consider my Hot Bloodedness a personality flaw at best or a mental illness at worst. I stopped believing in any of what they said pretty early on, and developed {{Determinator}} capabilities to grab the tomorrow I wanted for myself rather than the tomorrow set out for me. Then I got to college and found out that not only do some people really like Hot Blood, someone somewhere had recorded my entire inner life in anime form. Life has actually really improved since the early days, to a degree that pretty much surpasses all previously-held notions of what was possible. I also have BadassBookworm glasses to accompany my HotBlooded nerd-boy personality, but I don't wear them because they make me look like certain leaders of certain terrorist organizations.
#65155
In the non-defense of terrorists, I admit they're pretty HotBlooded themselves. They're just the ''wrong kind'' of HotBlooded, the kind that ends in trying to exterminate all life capable of evolution and progress.
#65156
This troper never thought of it that way, but he agrees. Although they are HotBlooded in the wrong department, (at least to everyone else in the world) you'd have to have some serious heart to do the things terrorists do. I believe in some things strongly, but not enough to the point where I'd kill someone over it.
#65157
I, {{Grognor}}, have enough '''HOT BLOOD''' to prevent sleep indefinitely.
#65158
This troper ''loves'' this type of characterization and has written several characters (who are Americans!) as Hot Blooded. Hell, I created a whole damn ''family'' that's Hot Blooded, the Michaels family. They are a little low-key at times, particularly the oldest son, Scott, but even he can get pretty crazy, particularly in his goal celebrations (he's a soccer/football player). There's a family in-joke that they're descended from Irish hero Cu Chulainn--even though he's from Ulster and they're from Cork, which they're well aware of. The one that takes the Hot Blooded cake, though, is the younger brother Jimmy, who is frickin' ''nuts'' and at times gives Domon Kasshu a run for his money in terms of Hot Bloodedness. And he's a ''quarterback''!

Here's a preview quote: #QUOTE# Jimmy: WE!! WILL!!! NOT!!! LOSE!!!!!
#65160
Also, in my original ''PowerRangers'' fic, ''Power Rangers [=GPX=]'', I actually try to write a hot-blooded Red Ranger. The result is Sean O' Callahan, who can either be a calm leader in one moment to a HotBlooded bad boy the next. #QUOTE# Sean: "I told you! We're! NOT! ''DONE! YET!!!!!''"

NeoSilverThorn: My dad's side of the family runs on this trope. Needless to say, you could probably sell tickets to the lawn darts game at our family reunions.
#65162
Aren't lawn darts illegal?
#65163
Hot blooded types generally do what they think is right or fun, as opposed to concerning themselves with actual laws. It's practically what defines hot bloodedness in some areas.
#65164
NeoSilverThorn: We're aware of the legality issues, but it hasn't stopped us. That includes my ex-cop uncle.
#65165
This troper occasionally lapses into this. Often with disastrous results.
#65166
My friends and I are working on turning this into a viable way of life. Necking multiple cans of energy drinks at once is part of the process. Then comes the step "removal of inhibitions." One must take up public speaking to get used to voicing opinions without shyness or indecision. Then lots of shouting and exercise for endorphins. Shake well, go nuts.
#65167
This Troper is hot-blooded, apparently. The mosquitoes always bite her instead of anybody else...
#65168
I think I'm pretty hot-blooded, too. I always get bitten like crazy whenever I go to the Philippines, and my friends sometimes comment on my "unusually warm hands." Of course, playing too much {{Ouendan}} sometimes adds to some very hot-blooded moments in the traditional sense. #QUOTE# Teacher: What can you think of that engineers haven't helped make? #QUOTE# Me: Burning Human Passion!
#65169
I'm currently writing an Paint Adventures}} MS Paint Forum Adventure that's attempting to paint {{Iji}} this way. Yes, ''Woobie}} that'' The Cutie}} Iji, as a {{Boisterous Bruiser}} {{Blood Knight}} with "Dragon}} Eternity" as a planned {{Leitmotif}}. The adventure's pretty much equal parts parody and {{Reconstruction}}. Would it be a {{Crowning Moment Of Awesome}} for me if I pull this off?
#65170
My answer? ''Yes''.
#65171
Since starting university, This Troper tries to approach ''everything'' with HotBlooded enthusiasm. Some people approve... others think I'm a bit nuts. It's a ''lot'' more fun than being a male ShrinkingViolet, though.
#65172
This troper has traits of this and TheStoic (though he probably leans more toward the latter), as he wears his emotions on his sleeve almost constantly, and is not shy about expressing them, but he also has tremendous amounts of self-control when it comes to his actual behavior. For example, he is incensed when he sees a bully harassing a weaker kid, but refrains from acting on it unless he has carefully thought out the consequences vs the benefits, and if he has figured that it would be worth a suspension to kick the bully's ass, then he does so with an unrestrained fury.
#65173
This Troper writes Pokemon-related material, and traditionally, most of his Fire-type characters will naturally end up behaving like this. In a more real-life sense, he himself does this at conventions, overlapping with being a BoisterousBruiser.
