BigBrotherComplex

After an incident where a girl's boyfriend attacked her dog with a chainsaw, my brother mentioned casually, "If you ever get a boyfriend, I'm going after HIM with a chainsaw." Awww, love.

This troper is highly protective of both his older and younger sister. Any slight against them is sure to press my BerserkButton, and I will meet such actions with an immediate DisproportionateRetribution. Occasionally this protection will extend to some of my closer female friends. Funnily enough, one of my friends did dub this my big brother complex, years before either of us had ever heard of TV Tropes.

This tropette is rather fond of her little brothers. She is the only one allowed to bully them. If anyone hurts them, they might find that this ShrinkingViolet can be quite the BadassBookworm when necessary. I'm sure that copy of ''The Sword Of {{Shannara}}'' doesn't look so innocent anymore to the bastard who hit one of them for sneaking into his yard to get back a lost frisbee... Also, one of her best friends has always been like this in regards to this troper, even though this troper is technically a few months older than her. When we were in preschool and a boy made this troper cry by popping her balloon, her friend punched him in the face and broke his nose.

This Troper has a fierce big brother complex...and little brother complex for many complicated reasons. Borders on Knight Templar Big Brother on occasion.

@/{{Phrederic}} is the youngest in the family, but since he always wanted a younger sibling, he instead acts super protective towards his brother who isn't a brother, and his friends, and his bro who isn't a bro's younger brother.

This troper is extremely protective of his twin sister, who is TECHNICALLY about ten minutes younger. Hey, I say it counts!

This here troper is actually the ''younger'' brother, but very protective of his 15-moths older sister. Also, chubby bearhugs of brotherly affection.

Averted and played straight with this troper. I think that getting beat up every now and then is good for my little brother. On the other hand, I was the one who taught him how to fight.

This female lurker is ''fiercely'' protective of her "soul sister"/best friend. I'm literally the ''only one'' allowed to mess with her. This becomes a problem, however, seeing as I am very HotBlooded HorribleJudgeOfCharacter and she is a chronically depressed ExtremeDoormat YamatoNadeshiko with Mentally AbusiveParents who doesn't like to talk about her problems. Oh yeah, and she's two months older than me.

This troper is a very protective older sister. Having only one younger sibling (a brother), a strong sense of family and a bit of a martyr complex, I would do anything for my little brother, whether I wanted to do it or not. At one point, an old friend threatened my brother and I had to intervene with my own threats before a fight broke out. I was fully ready to beat the shit out of someone I'd been good friends with since second grade because he threatened my brother. The kid annoys the crap out of me, but I love him no matter what.

This girl has a younger brother who is always getting in trouble. He has Attention Deficit and I am 8 years older than him, so I always overprotect him.

This troper's (slightly) autistic OLDER sister (by about 3 years) is very naive and far too trusting, and I'm not gonna let the world bring her down as long as she's happy. I know I'm overprotective, but hey, when she came home with a frown on her face because the people in her college played pranks on her (locked her out of her dorm room, twice) I quickly became the protecting YOUNGER brother I am for her now.

This troper used to have a terrible relationship with my younger brother, but we're as close as hell now and I love him to bits, and seeing him cry tears me apart. Although I can be critical of him at times, I get defensive when people outside the family say bad things about him.
