I'm beginning to appreciate Stratovarius more as a "classical/metal" band now... when I first listend to "The Elements Part 1" I thought it was rather bland and repetitive, but it really has to be listened to in a different way from the others I have - maybe even as just "background music". I still don't know what Papillon is, though. I asked the Oracle and it told me it was a small kind of spaniel. Right. I discovered today that the Chemistry lab won't be open on Monday, so I'll have to go in tomorrow and perform various tedious things like IR spectroscopy (which never, ever works, no matter how you do it) and melting point determination, and other technical-sounding things that in reality are so boring as to drive any normal person insane. Luckily the laundry machines have been "fixed", so I did an emergency wash - I was on the point of having to wear underwear inside-out to extend its wear time. I say "fixed" because the tumble-dryers still don't bloody work - it was only after one hour of tumble-drying that my clothes had been dried rather than just tumbled. I spent quite a while complaining about that on the back of the Residence survey I did this evening, trying to make my handwriting look ornate and important. Still, I went along to the Union after that - Liying/Fanny/Nicole was going to come as well, but she was washing her clothes at the sink rather than face the Melville laundry room so I went along myself, and met Jenny and a few others there. Karaoke was awful even without Benedict's assistance, so naturally I retreated to the games room and gathered quite a crowd around the DDR machine! I beat Paranoia Rebirth. It was all hard. After a couple of tries of the Song of Doom, Jenna turned up and we had a game - she introduced me to Dam Dariram on Difficult, which I have to agree is a very good course. You'll have to try that when we next play, Paul. Anyway, I then bought a bottle of Lucozade so that I would have the energy to walk back here. I've just remembered that I promised Jenny that I would be in the Computing lecture at 9am tomorrow, so I'd better go to bed. 2003-12-11 23:30:00 2 comments |
