This Troper has been dubbed the straight (wo)man out of all the (otherwise male) members one of my favorite forums.

This Troper is usually the insane one of any group he hangs out with. But in one group, he's the sanest. For one, he doesn't randomly burst into Series/DoctorWho roleplay mid-discussion.

I need to join that group, whatever it is.

This troper is a double subversion. Most of the time I am much more practical/pragmatic than everyone else, and there are other times my various mental disorders overwhelm me. I'm a sane insane man.

Similarly, this Troper is a bit of a CloudCuckooLander... well, a serious CloudCuckooLander, what with acting like a freaking cat up to and including playing with yarn (long story) and (accidentally) killing a mouse and all. but still has a point. Why is it that the Egg Carrier was Eggman's only fortress that actually had a bathroom, and why were there so many toilets in said bathroom if he's supposed to be the only living, sentient being there? Is he being GenreSavvy, and if so, is it because of expecting that anything he makes will eventually break, and making a large number of backup toilets, or because he's expecting one of his prisoners to escape (and apparently use the loo instead of just running for it and figuring out where they're going to pee and how they're going to get down off his flying fortress later)? And why are there robot monkeys throwing bombs on some of those toilets, and item capsules floating above others? ''WHY??''

I often fell like the Only Sane Man when it comes to my classmates.

I am not only the Only Sane Man in my group of friends, I've also been designated "The Kindergarten Teacher" for the group. As in, I'm the one who has to tell them to play nice, share, not hit, and not shout obscenities at the top of their lungs. It's a tough job, but honestly, I think I'm one of the few reasons none of us has been suspended from school yet.

In my group of friends, there are 4 nutters, only 1 of which I could call a friend. Whenever I am stuck with these four, I instantly become this.

This troper feels like this in most of her classes, though its more of a variation--less OnlySaneMan and more Only-One-Who-Knows-What-Listen-Up-Means(many of her classmates can't seem to shut up when told, and yes, some of them do have shades of CloudCuckooLander). It doesn't help that most of said classes are taught by teachers who have some qualities of AbsentMindedProfessor. I'm hoping next semester's classes will be better.

Both played straight and averted with me. I'm the resident CloudCuckooLander, and at the same time I'm the only one who won't laugh at a disturbing/offensive/{{egregious}}ly nonsensical joke, question anything odd when everyone else ignores it (such as a normally airheaded friend learning Polish seemingly overnight), and obsessively correct spelling, capitalization and punctuation on {{Facebook}}.

Being TheCynic makes me feel like this trope.

I'm almost always the Only Sane Man in almost every situation I'm in. Though in some cases, it's an inversion, in which I'm the Only Insane Man.

This Troper likes to invert it. If the way humanity generally acts is called sanity, then I'll quite happily be utterly insane, thank you.

Being a person with at least half a brain, it's not hard to understand why Tropers/BTIsaac feels like this on DeviantArt. That place is crowded with the most moronic rabble the internet has to offer. Well, not everyone can be as intelligent and rational as myself.

Despite being a CloudCuckooLander, I seem to be the OnlySaneMan in my school, because I don't actually spread the craziness to others. I just hold it in with myself, and try to calm down the more hysterical people.

Edgy is this to everyone (mostly women) in his life. I seriously need more guy friends who aren't douche bags.

I would just like to point out to all of you that naming YOURSELF the Only Sane Man just makes you sound like an arrogant dick.

I was actually called this by a few of my teachers (they used those words, too). I didn't think it was a very accurate description, though, since I could have my immature/crazy moments, like the other kids.

Everyone at her school thinks this tropette is one of these. Except she's not. She's probably the most insane of them all, but just with major self-control. But sometimes, you gotta be insane to be sane...

This troper, who is a cloud-cuckoo lander with depression (actually, that sounds like Ten), often ends up saying some variant of "You people ''do'' realize that ''I'm'' the sane one right now, right?". His crazy is known (The CloudCuckooLander aspect much moreso than the depression), so this usually results in a recalculation by the guilty party.

This troper finds that whenever ''MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' is mentioned, he's the only sane person.
