CheshireCatGrin

My (sort-of) friend gets this from me a lot. We're sort of like Haruhi and Kyon in the first episode, except I'm nicer and he views the insanity as entertainment. Usually when I'm sharpening a pencil (he does this EVERY. 5. SECONDS. It's annoying.) or when I'm PLOTTING EVILLY (run for it! She'll come out with something as crazy as Kelsier's plans!!!)

This troper was going to take revenge on her mother (We have a good relationship) for dumping an icy bucket of water on her as a prank. #QUOTE# '''Me:''' *holds up bucket of water with ice in it* Mamaaaaaaa. #QUOTE# '''Mom:''' *eyes her daughter warily* This is revenge for that prank I pulled last week isn't it? #QUOTE# '''Me:''' *grins* #QUOTE# '''Mom:''' *slowly backing away* Darling, I love you, but that's my grin. My Oh-you're-gonna-get-it-now grin. Don't use it on your Mama, ok? #QUOTE# '''Me:''' *comes toward her, still grinning* Who am I to deny genetics?

I have a Cheshire Grin for multiple occasions; one of the best being when I discover something bad about someone (that I can use against them). One such situation went like this: #QUOTE# Me: "Really? Oh, I ''see...'' *grin*" #QUOTE# Friend: "Oh no. You're ''smiling'' again."

This troper is often seen walking in the halls, going to meals, and sometimes just talking with what her father and her mother and her teachers call a Cheshire Grin. Whenever this grin is sighted, cue people shifting uncomfortably and trying to figure out what she is thinking or going to do.

And
this troper has been told by his friends to keep his mouth shut when in dark rooms with minor lightsources together with them due to his teeth's whiteness casting off whatever light hits them, sometimes apparently creating a true, seemingly floating Cheshire Cat grin without a "Cat" surrounding it... This request is also quite hard for this troper to carry out as a certain
endaring smile is pretty much his default facial expression.
#21161
This troper was told by her friend that when something embarrassing happens to her, I grin like the Cheshire Cat...unfortunately, she's right.
#21162
Don't worry, You're not the only one.
#21163
This Troper's friends have learned to fear this grin. I once gave a friend (who was, admittedly, playing along) a tiny nervous breakdown in the middle of our English class. It was an akward moment when our teacher asked him to come out from under the table.
#21164
This Troper's friends have learnt that if she's doing her Cheshire Cat smile either a) I have just thought of and am going to say something very perverted, b) they've just learnt another thing about me that's dark, warped and scary or c) they better start running.
#21165
This Troper has a rather huge Chesire Cat Grin, and doing it whenever someone gets one of his sarcastic remarks or too much information or just amused has become a sort of running gag. Sometimes it appears more as a Slasher Smile, though.
#21166
This Troper quite enjoys doing this when she says something unnerving or oddball. Sometimes it evolves into a SlasherSmile, something her friends find quite unsettling...
#21167
This Troper is also a Chesire Cat Grinner (Chesire Cat? Chesire Cat Wannabe?). But when this grin comes out, watch the eyes. If the smile is not reflected in the eyes, or if the expression is more of turmoil, then it's either a SlasherSmile or a PsychoticSmirk. And then...
#21168
This occurs whenever this troper talks about a diabolical scheme, be it past, present, or future.
#21169
This troper has mostly female friends and is known to have a high sexdrive. The Cheshire Cat Grin has become known in the group as my
"rape time" smile.
#21170
This troper smiles like this when she's being deceitful or facetious, complete with EyesAlwaysShut, and manages to achieve the
Gin Ichimaru Effect quite well. The smile also tends to freak people out a bit.
#21171
This Troper, on more than one occasion, has heard 'No! Don't believe her! She's...doing that SMILE thing again!' Apparently it's creepy.
#21172
This troper has been described by friends as having "one of those horrible, too-wide smiles, like
The Grinch". It's usually deliberate.
#21173
I am well aware of my ability to do this, it sometimes overlaps with my personal slasher smile, but i have a degree of control over this. i usually employ the look for entertainment at the reactions of people around me. the most fun however, is got from doing it to complete strangers.
#21174
Let me set the scene...a flat party with a spring/psychedelic theme, complete with strobe and UV lights (and lots of people tripping out). Several people had done paintings to put up on the walls to add to the theme - stuff like lambs, deer, etc. The final touch was putting UV paint on, say, the eyes of these so that they would glow unpleasantly. One of the paintings was Disney's Cheshire Cat, complete with Cheshire Cat Grin. So, we UV painted the eyes and smile. That would be bad enough, but the paint was still wet and dripped down from the smile...suffice to say it was a weird kind of party.
#21175
This troper has one on occasions when I'm planing something or having evil thoughts, what makes it really funny is that my last name is CHESHIER. (not with an 're' but an 'er')
#21176
@/{{Jinxed Blackcat}} is known for a Cheshire grin when I am up to some prank/plot. Hell, half the time I don't even need to say anything about my plan and my victim/friend has a mini meltdown rambling about all the horrible things I could be planning... Or just stammering "NO! No, don't you dare!"
#21177
Hah, this is the troper with the Haruhi comment. My other friends do... THAT EXACT THING.
#21178
This troper does this whenever he's about to indulge in some intentional CloudCuckoolander-ness, or pulling a prank, or just feeling plain mischievous. So, about three quarters of the time.
#21179
It's gotten to the point where when I walk into my friends' apartment wearing this grin, they'll just wait for me to sit down, then ask me if they're going to need to testify.
#21180
This troper's German teacher always does one after she's finished yelling at someone. Always. Sometimes she even yells in Greek, making it doubly hilarious.
#21181
This troper's friend grins whenever she's at all happy... or angry, or in pain, or excited. Her name is also
Catherine, which she shortens to Cat. She scares the crap out of people.
#21182
This troper's
unusual emotional range does not include simple smiles; that makes it all the more terrifying when I actually ''do'' it.
#21183
My ''normal'' smile/grin is HUGE. To the point where people actually notice and say "The sides of your face actually get ''wider'' when you smile, did you know that?"
#21184
This Troper might as well have two examples... She (the troper) sometimes acts a little less than sane around her friends in a psycopathic sort of way, and attempts a Cheshire Grin. Wether she succeeds or not, she hasn't got a clue. And she also owns a few pomeranian dogs at the moment(VERY expressive dogs. I swear they smile!, and her oldest one will sometimes get a smile somewhere between a Cheshire Cat Grin and a Slasher Smile. It's really kind of amusing.
