CaffeineBulletTime

This troper once drank 3 cans of Monster in under 15 minutes. 1 hour later, he could [++''see into the future.''++]

This troper seems to have become mostly immune or at least desensitized to the negative effects of caffeine, thanks to having been hooked on soda for most of his teenage life. He ditched the soda when he started going to the gym, replacing it with coffee whenever he needs that buzz - which is usually when cramming something. Over the course of 2 days, from Sunday evening to Monday afternoon just this week, he actually drank a total of 16 cups' worth of coffee, staving off exhaustion to the point that he was able to work out for an hour 6am Monday morning. Predictably, though, when he got home? ...He fell onto his pillow, face first.

This Troper and his friends joke about this happening if one friend ever drank anything with more caffeine than coca-cola.
#18104
This troper could swear he experiences a form of Adrenaline Bullet Time in particularly intense sessions of {{Touhou}} - his reaction time shortens and he suddenly becomes much faster at analyzing bullet trajectories. It seems to only happen on Stage 6 and Extra Stage boss battles, though, and in some cases, a single mistake can completely shatter his concentration and knock him out of it, leading to more mistakes and a vicious cycle. This leads to him doing either really well or really poorly on any given attempt at Extra, with very few SoOkayItsAverage runs.

This troper experiences much the same thing playing Tetris late at night. Once, I was playing at 11:00 at night on Marathon mode and got pretty far, achieving a new high score. Trying it again the next day, however, his eyes couldn't even follow the blocks dropping after a certain point.

These might be cases of your brain adapting and boosting your "twitch reflexes", which are just like normal reflexes, but you can almost feel yourself processing information faster. I get that sometimes while playing ''SuperMeatBoy''.
#18107
This troper lives in a constant state of this. Everything around me, Even my computer, seems to be moving in slow motion. I've actually had to fiddle with the refresh rate on it to not see a flicker.
#18108
This troper attempted a CaffeineBulletTime effect... and had a heart attack. IGotBetter. Kids, don't OD on caffeine!
#18109
Jesus Christ, how much caffeine did you have!? Thank god you didn't die!
#18110
This troper recieved a tower of Shock-a-lots for christmas. For those not in the know; Shock-a-lots are essentially M&Ms with coffee beans instead of peanuts on the inside. Chocolate covered coffee beans. There's about 24 packs in the tower. I'm not sleepin' tell New Years. Playing PrinceofPersia (2008 version) while buzzed is very interesting, to say the least.
#18111
This Troper notices that people move slowly when he has had a lot of Coffee. Also, he had Coffee &
Lotsa Spaghetti for
Dinner.
#18112
This troper experiences a non-caffeine version of this sometimes when she wakes up in the morning. Instead of being sleepy or slow-witted, she leaps into consciousness and her brain is racing so fast that it makes her really want to believe in the ten percent thing. This can last for minutes before she goes back to normal. It's actually kind of cool, like being in a dream. Someday she wants to use this hyperawake state for self-induced hallucinations...

A reoccurring plot device in a story series This troper is writing is the main character chugging a bottle of Gatorade; which results in him being able to move and talk very fast, and in one instance, does grant him bullet time.
#18114
This troper oftenmakes himself a cup of tea for breakfast, taken (as
lampshaded by his mom)
like a Victorian Era Englishman. Sometimes, on his way to work, he'll stop in Circle K and buy
this. Tea + Monster Java? Craziness! Subverted in that nothing seems to slows down, but played annoyingly straight in the fact that I'm often speaking about the same speed a chipmunk does around lunch rush and often have to repeat myself speaking at a normal rate.
#18115
This troper does this from time to time. Imagine someone entering the exam room with a huge bottle of diet coke and an energy drink.
#18116
Inverted with
this tropette. Others joke that I would benefit if I ''were'' on a caffeine high. One even offered to bring her video camera.

One time after this troper purchased a bottle of caffiene pills, his brother took 3 pills (200 mg each) and didn't feel anything whatsoever. I figured that since I was smaller and probably had a lower overall drug tolerance, 3 would give me a decent effect. I was twitching and jittering for almost 4 hours, and my thoughts became a lightning fast, rambling stream of multiple ideas at a time which gave me a headache and almost drove me insane. Everything seemed to take way too long, and those 4 hours seemed like a week. Yep, caffiene intoxication isnt fun. I still have no idea how my brother could just ignore 600 mg of caffiene, unless he isn't human.

Happened to a roommate of a friend of This Troper, with a DownerEnding. He would drink coffee in industrial amounts. This wasn't enough, so he went to a chemist and got caffeine pills made. Soon that was not enough, and he got a chemist that would make pills with a higher concentration. This let him stay a long time awake, until one day he suddenly fainted from exhaustion. He has not touched caffeine since them. Incidentally, caffeine has no effect for this troper, which is rather sad.

This Troper is immune to the effects of caffeine if he is fully awake, he can drink a cup of coffee and go to bed with no problems. If he's a bit tired, caffeine will perk him up. However once he'd made an entire french press full of coffee, which holds about 5 or 6 cups of coffee, realizing that he'd no one to share it with he just drank the whole thing. After an hour he was a bit more alert, then suddenly his entire mind and body went into overdrive. He literally couldn't stand still, he had to keep his toes, fingers and eyes moving, and started complaining about how slow the world had gotten. To keep from crashing he drank a can of energy drink, and remarkably came down smoothly without passing out or any such silliness.
#18120
He recently tried to recreate that feeling with an even higher concentration of grounds to water, and was quite disappointed to find that it had no effect on him, barring a slight headache.
#18121
This troper's friend is absolutely HILARIOUS when she's had anything containing caffeine or sugar. You sometimes ''can't understand what she says.''
#18122
Happens to This Troper when I drink a certain amount of coffee (about 3 cups) without eating anything (usually breakfast).
Hilarity ensues.
#18123
This troper consumed the following: a large cup of tea, a 5-hour energy booster, and Vanilla Coke. Despite getting hyper as all getout, she finished her class project WAY before everyone else to the point the teacher thought she was trying to leave early.
#18124
This troper once had a computer animation project, and my group was way behind schedule. In order to catch up, I spent the entire night at the computer lab with a twenty-four pack of Pepsi. Started at 6 pm, and was still going at 9am when the class started. When the professor finally got there, I was so wound up that I was averaging twelve words per second, and answering my own questions as I was asking them. Which made for a ''very'' stark contrast between me and the professor, who has a very slow, deep cadence. #QUOTE#'''Me:'''
HeyisitpossibletotakethisfileandopenitupinanotherprogramsothatIcanaddsomesoundinandnevermindIjustnowrealizedthat'simpossibleandwhatastupidquestion. (Translation: Hey is it possible to take this file and open it up in another program so that I can add some sound in and never mind I just now realized that's impossible and what a stupid question.) #QUOTE#'''Professor:''' Yes. Yes, that was a stupid question.
#18125
To my credit, ''I GOT SHIT DONE.''
#18126
This troper is better at falling block puzzle games (i.e. {{Tetris}} or {{Lumines}}) after he's had some caffeine; he can hold down left or right for exactly the correct length of time to get the piece where he wants it to go.
#18127
This troper had a clerical assistant position at a housing development company as a summer job. A client sent in a gift basket as thanks for something, and it included a fist-sized sweet roll. Since most of my coworkers were middle-aged women concerned with dieting and such, they gave it to me. One minute after eating it I realized that the first item on the ingredient list was sugar. Twenty minutes after eating it I was almost vibrating. Thankfully, I was soon given a task that sent me out of the office and scurrying around
the Loop so that I was able to burn off some of the energy.
#18128
Additionally, I don't drink coffee because I hate the taste, so my caffeine tolerance is almost nil. So when I do drink something caffeinated (such as a Starbucks Doubleshot right before an exam) it has a substantial effect.
#18129
This troper doesn't experience any effects from caffeine whatsoever, such as you'd notice. Except the crashes. Oh god, the crashes...
#18130
To elaborate, he tends to become apathetic, somewhat nihilistic and possibly even a little suicidal.
#18131
Whenever this troper has more than a coca-cola's worth of caffeine, I start talking faster than my brain can think the words and then I have to sit down for a while or I start getting dizzy.
#18132
A friend of
mine once stood awake all night with his friends... without anything to eat, since all shops were closed. They even tried to stop one of those vans/hot dog shop ("Excuse me, could we buy something from you even if you are closed?" "Go. Away."). They found a pastry shop at 6 A.M. 40 or so ?. He started smiling at ''everyone'' and ''everything''; out of three friends, one sweated uncontrollably, another was vibrating and the last was pratically aware of everything that was happening and/or moving several meters around him.
#18133
This troper can't handle caffeine. ''At all''. He's learned that he should not get soft drinks like Coke or Pepsi. Drinking even small amounts of either of them causes this. He's never tried anything stronger.
