This troper has a small screwed-up family with a history of clinical depression that includes two suicides. This troper also suffers from {{Only Child Syndrome}}, which may or may not make things better.

This Troper is writing a story that centers (mostly) on a family like this. The head of the household, Kyou, is aging and his identical twin sons Kenta and Katsuro (the older of which (Kenta) lives with him since he doesn't want his elder son moving out) are squabbling over who will get to inherit everything once he dies, and the feud has passed on to their sons, Kenichi (who is the youngest child in his family) and Kaito (who is the oldest child in his family and five months older than Kenichi). However, the family doesn't follow a typical patriarchal structure and instead focuses on seniority, meaning that the real third in line after Kenta and Katsuro is Kenta's daughter Kaori. On top of that, it is hinted that Kaori and Kenichi's sister Kasumi (middle child) is actually some sort of HumanoidAbomination, (her NotSoImaginaryFriend, Violet, who looks exactly like her, certainly is) and might not actually be related to the right side of the family to be an heir. And on top of ''that'', everyone in this world has unrealistically colored hair and eyes and the family follows ThemeNaming (which you probably guessed since all the names start with a K) which they take very seriously.

This tropers whole family suffers from it. Her father is mentally ill and her youngest uncle is a recluse. Her two older uncles, who are wealthy doctors, are arguing over her grandfather's money and inheritance... even though he isn't even on his death bed, but they might as well put him there. Their wives are bitches. Her grandmother is overly critical of herself and this troper, collects every fallen hair of her balding head, compares herself to soap opera actors and can be heard yelling from across the street. Her brother is quite spoiled and racist... even though we are a minority group. Her older aunt is an Extreme Doormat with absolutely no power or asskicking skills at all. Her other, younger half-aunt tends to believe that she's a ninja out to kill off her half-brothers to get their filthy hands off her father's money. Oh yes, and this troper herself is a wallflower with a lot of imaginary friends and absolutely no life. Her mother is dead and her jewelry is being fought over as well. The only people who appear to be halfway decent in the family are a few of the troper's cousins; jolly, good human beings who love their parents, God and life... except that one never knows.
