This Troper was looking through a magazine in which an article about this trope appeared. At one point it involved a discussion that was basically about the truth of this trope, and asked a number of contributors their opinion. The majority of them said yes, babies do make everything better.

For me, babies do make everything better--in my case, they prompt me to be a better role model for kids. There are babies at my church, and one in particular takes to me like an uncle.
