I thought it would be an isolated one or two at first, but I wonder the same thing every time a new topic starts - why do so many of the Freshers on the Sinner boards type like complete morons? Things are not looking good for the new year of students. It's only recently that any of them have managed to get the spelling of "accommodation" right.
The inevitable has happened - someone had to be taken to hospital while I was working in the kitchen. Ha, that was just me being dramatic - he was in fact hit right on the forehead by a golf ball, in an incident entirely unrelated to the fact that I had made his sandwiches previously, and was knocked unconscious. I would imagine that it can't have been pleasant. (I meant the being hit, not the sandwich, but that can't have been very pleasant either because it was cheese and vileness, i.e. pickle.)
I got the chance to try out Doom 3 this evening. I'm not trying to be contrary for the sake of it, but I wasn't very impressed with it. It certainly looks pretty (especially the bit near the start when you go through the airlock and are suddenly outside) but it feels like id attempting to do a crossover of Half Life and Metal Gear Solid, and not like a traditional Doom game at all. The early ones were about huge numbers of monsters coming at you as you tried to fend them off with only your pixellated shotgun, but the new game involves a lot of creeping about in the dark and wondering where it is you're being shot from.
I've recently realised that although I do spend most of my free time writing music or creating other things, I never really mention it in my LJ. So to correct that for the time being, here are some early screenshots of a game currently only known as "Custom Movement Advanced Project", and a take-off of The Granstream Saga, a game which only four people on LJ have listed as an interest, but some people may find it amusing nonetheless.
