Any other Teetotaler tropers out there? I practice but don't advocate. Not really a Bad Ass, but have something of a Dark And Troubled Past (due in large part to the drunken father - truth in television!). And I do like to keep my wits about me. I DON'T prefer a spot of tea, nor even the milk so often favored by The Phantom. Diet Cola will do just fine...\\ \\ Said past did include one Crowning Moment of Awesome. Dad's drunken "friends" dropped him off (literally) in the yard late one night. I went outside to express my displeasure to them sporting a Badass [[strike:Longcoat]] Jacket and a shotgun. One of the drunks was terrified because he thought I was my uncle...who had been dead for some two decades!

This troper is also a type A.

This troper really dislikes the taste of alcohol be it Wines, Beers, Lager or Spirits with the sole exception of Bailey's Irish Cream and really hates its effects on the body and mind when drunk in excessive quantities. Not to mention it's a source of some evils in this world such as drink-driving and fuels domestic abuse in some cases. Nah, I'll stick to my fruit juices thanks.

I never drink for three reasons: one, I dislike the taste of alcoholic drinks, two, I'm afraid of losing control and doing things I normally wouldn't and tree, I'm afraid of throwing up.

This troper is also teetotal, and has kept to that strictly for almost nine years now. Thing is, I ''don't'' have a deep personal reason for it; when I used to drink, it was only ever moderately, and my family are also moderate. I just abstained for two weeks as I was recovering from flu, and then decided not to go back.

This Troper's father's family consists of drunkards and Teetotalers, contrary to her Teetotaler relatives (all due to not wanting to be like the drunkards) this troper is a Teetotaler mainly because she dislikes the taste of alcohol.

Hell, this particular troper was born and raised in '''''Ireland''''', and I don't drink. My brother lasted until ''just'' before his 18th (the legal drinking age here), but that's a damn sight longer than most here can claim.

This Troper's dad - not for any particular reason other than he was getting older and couldn't handle the mornings after drinking anymore. Also my brother is expressing a wish to be this; he didn't even drink on his 18th, poor kid! I'm hoping to change his mind with fine Scotch when he comes up to visit me in Edinburgh.

This Troper has abstained from alcohol for medical reasons (alcohol triggers my depression) for over a year. I don't miss being drunk in the slightest, but I still love beer and cocktails for the flavour. I have become something of a specialist on non-alcoholic cocktails, and have found several brands of non-alcoholic beer that are well worth drinking.

I was trotting merrily down the path to the same alcoholism that plagues both sides of my family until one night making an ass of myself, passing out, and puking all over my bedroom made me realize I had better cut that shit out but good, after which I've been entirely sober.
