This Troper has a friend, who is 5'1'' and not really sensitive about her height. Yet many people think they can pick on her because she won't even be able to talk back. One day a guy tried to pick her up and made unpolite statements about how her height corresponds with the quality of her sex life. She broke his nose.

This troper has a small, 10-pound toy poodle who once ordered around a 120-pound Labrador Retriever by simply ''barking'' at him and forcing him in a corner. She also attempts to chase away anyone who enters a room she's in without warning.

This is a breeding thing. Smaller dogs were bred for cute, puppy-like features, temperament be damned. Larger working dogs were bred to follow orders and be laid back, so it's quite common for little dogs to be in charge of bigger ones. Doesn't stop the funny, though.

Not only is she that bad that the fact she is still employed there in his opinion merits enough usage of the dreaded AtomicFBomb to reverse global warming only to cause a nuclear winter, she is that up herself that I hope she'll have an appointment with a Catherine wheel when she finally reaches what I hope is her eternal reward - this troper will if he ends up turned away by the bouncer at the entrance to a far much happier afterlife (unless of course it's actually a case of the man upstairs being a Jerkass anyway) only be facing an extremely unattractive masseuse armed with massage oil combining foul-smelling, sulphurous compunds that are then set alight afterwards for what has apparently dethroned Sloth as this troper's favourite deadly sin...

This troper is not tall, and doesn't like to be reminded of that. It's mainly her sister that teases her about being vertically challenged, and that sets this troper off even more because she has to ''live'' with her.

The retail store where this troper works has a district manager who's both short and given to barking lots of useless orders. Unfortunately, since he's the district manager, we have to pretend to listen to him.

This troper's sister is 4'10" (about 9 inches or so shorter than me) and is a spunky horseback rider who WILL knock anyone who smacktalks her on their ass. Horses know not to mess with her either.

However, if you insult me I'll kick your ass and make your life miserable. I recall one case, when one of my JerkJock classmates (6'25' or at least close, he was really HUGE) started to pick a fight with me to show "that who's the boss around here." He didn't expect me to be quite aggressive defender, so that was a quick fight.

Certainly TruthInTelevision for this troper, who at not quite 5'3" is at a serious disadvantage in crowds. This made changing classes in high school particularly difficult, as I tended to get shoved around like a pinball until I started kicking people in the shins. I spent a lot of years with a massive grudge against Fate, because the world simply isn't designed for short people (I have trouble reaching things on the top shelf at the grocery store), nor can I find pants that aren't too long, even in the petite section. This grudge has eased over the years, but tends to flare up again every time I have to ask someone to get something down for me in a store because I simply can't reach it. The last person to make a short joke at me also got a kick in the kneecap. I'm just a wee bit oversensitive about it even now, though once while (admittedly drunk) in college I informed the world at large that I was "proud to be storage-compatible".

Oh, you poor dear. This troper landed roundly at five feet (yes, she is the "spunky horseback rider" mentioned above, and would like to note that her dear brother is exaggerating slightly) and was therefore able to duck between people. This troper used to work in an assisted living facility mainly staffed by short-to medium height women. After being publically called names, screamed at, and saying nothing i got written up by my 5'5 male boss for being "disrespectful," and for "standing too close" to people, never mind i worked alone and stationary while everyone else was free to go about as they pleased. Also got written up a second time because I refused to work through my lunch break.

This female troper is 5'6", technically making her taller than the average American woman, and indeed taller than a fair number of women (and men!) in the world. However, because this troper hates high heels (or, really, anything thicker than a sneaker) and tends to hang out with tall, lanky guys, she ''feels'' short. Also, there's the fact that growth charts predicted she'd be 5'9"-5'11", but puberty had other plans and decided the growth should go to the horizontal girth of her pelvis rather than the vertical length of her legs. That's right: estrogen robbed her of her height. She hates her ovaries and uterus. They are evil.

At 22 years and 5'3", this Troper has been surpassed in height by both her younger sisters (20 and 5'6", 14 and 5'5"). My 11-year-old brother is still a head shorter, but I seriously doubt it will stay that way.
