This troper shared a University residence with 10 other students, one of which was named Peter. I went almost all of the first semester (after which he moved out) without seeing him. His door was always closed, he never ate dinner with anyone else, I never even saw him in the kitchen, he never came out to watch TV, never appeared at Unit meetings etc. After a while I was starting to imagine either a Captain Tuttle situation, or alternatively that I had seen him and just assumed he was visiting from another unit. Neither was the case - I met him about a week before the midyear break and he was not someone I'd met before.

Me and my roommate's next-year-roommate Blake constantly brings up a guy named Todd, who is apparently one of the most epic people ever. Every story we hear about him has him giving some great one liner or enacting some epic prank, and not once has either of us seen him. Lampshaded by Blake, who points out on occasion it's entirely possible he's making Todd up.

I had a friend who had a boyfriend. This guy was apparently a JerkWithAHeartOfGold, his father was an EvilAlbino who abused him, his mother gave him "bastard" (in German) for a middle name, had like twenty half-siblings who lived with him, and moved to Italy a little after he broke up with my friend. Despite the fact that other friends of mine have met him and say he's an idiot, I never had the chance to meet him. Therefore, I'm not even sure if he was real.

I have a guy friend who had a girlfriend that damn near all of my friends and acquaintances have met. My best friend, who had also met her, said that I ought to meet her, claiming that we had a similar style of dress (I'm a goth, not a really a specific type). Well, my friend had broken up with this girl - or, ''she'' broke up with him, but more because she was being jerk, supposedly. Nonetheless, I don't think I'm ever going to meet this girl.

Recently, I managed to find her on Facebook. I think the only thing we have in common is that we dress in black; she seems more like a otaku J-rocker (judging that the reason why I couldn't find her was because she had some weird Japanese name as her moniker).

when i was in 8th grade, my school had an open house that supposedly a girl who was in 6th grade brought a friend to from outside the school. she told me the next day that this friend saw me and thought i was hot. That girl then became know for the rest of my time at that school as the one who always reminded me that "my friend thinks your hot". and to this day i have never met this friend.
