ThatMakesMeFeelAngry
#122753
This troper intentionally subverted this in a short story she once wrote. The main character stated several times how angry he was about things that had happened earlier in the story. This was for his own benefit, though, as he had been extremely confused and had to actively figure out that the feeling he felt was anger. The reader, however, realised from the beginning that his behaviour (that he himself found irrational but but didn't know how to stop) throughout the story came from anger and hurt.

I've caught myself doing this occasionally. (But, then again, I think out loud most of the time.) The peculiar part is that I'm not very emotionally expressive otherwise, except via the tone of my voice. My facial expression doesn't change a whole lot when I'm feeling emotional, which I suppose makes me a RealLife example of DullSurprise as well.

This troper's friend says this ALL. THE. TIME.

Reading through a play in English class with no attempt at acting (either vocally or physically) from any of the participants naturally leads to this or a variant upon this trope, especially in the romantic scenes of "The View From The Bridge". A particular highlight was when asked something like "do you really love me?" a guy replied in the most bored sounding voice possible "the answer is in my ears - I mean eyes!"

This troper has a complete inability to sound anything but calm and polite even when she is really, really angry or upset. This makes me a good person to have in intense student organization meetings and I'm a great debater. It also makes it very hard for people to take my anger seriously when I look someone in the eye and say "I'm really upset at what you did..." in a pleasant, chill voice despite being genuinely upset. The last time I screamed at someone, however, there was fear in their eyes for weeks.

This Troper's Best friend has moments like this all the time. Especially if she's playing Fruit Ninja. To quote: '''"EEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHH!!!! DAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!'''....That makes me so mad."

This troper's catchphrase is often", "THAT MAKES ME FEEL DEEPLY UPSET, OKAY?"
#122760
This troper sometimes does this when the only other thing he could say was Angrish.

A kid on my bus stated this, word for word, after the bus driver couldn't hear his request to turn up the radio: "She can't hear me...That! Makes! Me! ANGRY!"

Said word-for-word by my Latin teacher, who is easily irritated but relatively expressionless and speaks in a monotone.
