TeensAreShort

This Troper is 16 and even her ''12-year-old brother'' is taller than her
#122365
Even as far back as high school This Troper noticed this.
#122366
This Troper has been a solid few inches taller than both his parents AND his older brother who's 10 years his senior. Since the age of ''twelve''.
#122367
Played straight with this troper, who's eighteen and the smallest member of her family. Her brother though, looks to be on the way to be pretty tall.

My roommate is 5'10", which is pretty tall, so you wouldn't really expect this trope, right? But her parents are both ''over six feet tall''. It kind of startled me that even though she's an adult she looks kind of like a kid compared to them, because this is totally not the case in my family. My mum is the shortest person in my family and my younger sister is very nearly as tall as my dad and might still be growing.

This troper is the tallest person in his family at 5'10" (or 5'9"...or 5'8", should probably get a definite measurement one of these years) and my older sister is 5'. Throughout high school just about every guy was taller than me and the majority of girls were the same height as me or taller. So long story short I'd argue to the troper above me that 5'10" is not pretty tall.
#122370
This teenager is 5'0 feet tall and every adult, most teenagers, and quite a few kids several years younger than him are taller then him.
#122371
This troper is an 18-year-old girl at 5'0". Not only are my parents taller than me (both are around 5'5"), but most everyone over the age of 12 towers over me. Although that really just makes me an anomaly and indicates that, actually, Teens Are Freakishly Tall.
#122372
This troper is 19 years old and hasn't grown an inch ''for years''. Her height at this moment? 4'11''. Most people in school are pretty damn big and my mother is only a few inches taller than me. My brothers (who are both in their 20's) also tower over my dad who's about an average height for a male.
#122373
Sadly averted, as a teen I was very tall for my age. And now with twenty, I've completed my transformation in a 6'7'' freak of nature.
#122374
I'm a seventeen year old girl who is 5'8"/9" (one of the two anyway!). Therefore I'm pretty tall for a girl, but I'm actually the shortest one in my family. My brother is 5'10", my mum is 5'10"/11", and my dad is about 6'. My step-dad is also over 6', though my step-mum is shorter than me.
#122375
Averted by this 17-year-old troper, who is around 6'3 and taller than most people he sees. Not very fun, either.
#122376
To a few of the above Tropers, this troper's high school's recent batch of freshman have some that are unusually tall. Two notables are 6'5'' and 6'9''.
#122377
This troper is 15 and only about 4'8". Though some people said that it's good because she looks younger, she thinks it's like a NotAllowedToGrowUp thing
#122378
Subverted at this tropette's middle school. Half the kids are shorter than her, and the other half are a head taller. There's also her older brother, who is 15 and 6 feet tall.
#122379
Half averted by this troper, who towered over her mother when she was thirteen, but was (and still is) almost a head shorter than her father (who is very tall). Now I know where I got the tall genes.
#122380
This troper is in her late teens and short enough that under-the-knee socks are ZettaiRyouiki on her. And she's noticed that every year, the young'uns just keep getting taller and taller. It was particularly jarring when she was in her final year of school and the pre-teens that were just starting out were already the same height (or taller) than her taller peers.

When I was a teen, this trope was played straight, I was the shortest in the family exept my (then) little brother. Now, when I'm an adult and he is a teen, the trope is inverted, since he's grown taller than us all.
