This troper knows several friends who actually flat out ''refuse'' to even rent games if they don't score above an 8. Yes some of those games are fun and nicely designed, but this troper told them that if one lets reviews determine what games they get, they can easily miss a lot of games they'd have probably liked. Not to mention, reviews have been subject to biases anyways...I read several that made me wonder if they even ''played'' the game.

Subverted in the case of this troper with Resident Evil 4, I got the game because I hadn't heard anything bad about it at all from anywhere, however I didn't form an opinion until I actually played the game it was good.

I wouldn't call this person a friend, but there is a person in my Chinese class who will talk on and on about games that got good reviews and some that got bad reviews. It actually gets to be a little bit unbearable at times. Granted, he does have AspergersSyndrome, but it is still annoying as hell.
