Not imitating ThoseWackyNazis per se, but in this troper's fiction (based on a "TheWarOfEarthlyAggression" story idea in the past), the Tellurian Union is intentionally designed in imagery to resemble UsefulNotes/NorthKorea, especially in uniforms and iconography (the Tellurian flag looks exactly like a North Korean flag with an astronomical symbol for Earth instead of a red star) and somewhat in ideology (though the story is more based on TheAmericanRevolution with a Martian Republic as the American revolutionaries, this troper, being Australian, didn't think a slightly corrupt and bumbling monarchy was a topical or scary enough villain type - also since Australia was part of the British Empire once - so the Tellurian Union are characterised as an initially democratic society (hence the name) but became totalitarian as time went on, thereby giving the Martians (human colonists, not the creatures from the original WarOfTheWorlds or any EdgarRiceBurroughs works) reason to go to Mars, but the old 'no taxation without representation' reason is also brought up for the Martian rebellion.

Also: if this troper somehow became Prime Minister of Australia, he would order that the police uniforms of all Australian police uniforms in each state and the Federals alike to be redesigned to have a similar design to the older militaristic-looking People's Republic of China police uniforms (except with minor Australian motifs as opposed to PRC ones) - but as a tactic to keep White Australians, Indigenous Australians and migrants alike in line by, for starters, making the police look scary in a jackbooted-looking manner as opposed to even the NYPD-lookalike uniform reforms by intentionally Putting On The Maoist Chic. It's a crazy idea but it's in line with the Prussian fashions of New Jersey cops mentioned in this trope's main page...

This troper finds himself trying to avoid this trope in his fiction, with the exception of course of anything in actually set in WWII, and his other stories set in a shared alternate universe, It's more like a mix of earlier Prussian system tempered by an uprising, leading to a different type of Reichism.

This troper has written a story in which all officers in the Eurasian Alliance wear uniforms that look like a combination of Soviet and Nazi dress: peaked cap, armband, etc.

This Troper is running a GURPS game where the players are soldiers of a fictional nation's army, and their uniforms, names, ranks, and equipment are based off of the Imperial German Army and the Wehrmacht. The country itself is actually a constitutional monarchy, and though it has quite a laundry list of flaws, being authoritarian or evil are not among them.

This troper is writing a Sims 2 story that takes place in a pseudo-medieval land, but she found a way to make the evil (they're more brainwashed and scared of their leader than evil, though) army's armbands have the red, white, and black color scheme of the SS armbands and they still look okay with the uniforms. Their leader even has similar goals to Hitler (she wants to "clean up the kingdom" as she calls it) and uses words and reasoning that would not be out of place in a eugenics argument. Goosestep back to {{Putting On The Reich}} On The Reich}} here, ''German}} Kamerad.''
