IIRC, there was an instance where a few people in my class were screwing around while the teacher was out, and I think they must have broken something, unless I'm getting confused with a different occasion. Anyway, I don't remember exactly what they did to get in trouble, but our teacher was really pissed when she got back, and asked us who was responsible, saying that all of us would get a week of detention if those responsible didn't own up and stay behind to help her fix what was ruined. Even though I wasn't involved, I stood up and claimed responsibility, because those who did the deed were too scared to own up. But then the ones who were involved also stood up with me and said they did it. We actually became quite good friends after that.

This is not Sparta!, THIS...IS...SPARTICUS! This troper once had a history teacher who would insist on watching movies that had to do with historical events. As you can guess, one of these movies was Spartacus. After we finished the movie, our teacher said, "Okay, now, when you go to (insert 8th period teacher's name here)'s class, you need to stand up and say 'I'M SPARTACUS!', alright?" The class nodded. Sure enough, once 7th period passed, over half of the kids stood up and proclaimed "I'M SPARTACUS!" The teacher just stood there for a second, shook his head, said, "You guys watched that movie with (other teacher), didn't you?" Everyone nodded. Yeah, I was silent the entire time, shaking with laughter.
