Aversion. The Russian immigrant who moved to my town last year is tall, pale, and as skinny as a bean pole.

My friend is a partial subversion. He's an freaking smart engineer, he weighs 120 pounds, and he's 5'5. However, he plays it straight by having Russian military training, and being able submit me EASILY if we grapple, even though I have 80 pounds on him. One does not need to be huge to be as strong as the Husky Russkie.

Also a partial subversion. This troper is a tiny, tiny girl from a long line of notoriously short and skinny Russians. However, she can bust in doors empty-handed.

Siberian cats, although a lot of it is the massive amounts of fluff.

Heavily averted with this (Russian) troper, who is tall, thin and willowy. Though she is female, so this is forgivable. And no, she cannot burst in doors or something. But she's quite dextrous and can be deadly if given access to some long stick... She justifies it with "only lowly thugs fight with their fists".

This Russian troper is big and large (however not very muscular, just fat), rarely taken seriously when he talks, and seemingly very slow to understand things. Doesn't help that he moved to France where people tend to be smaller and skinnier than himself, and due to some minor culture clashes here and there, he's often out of the loop. Subverted when he reveals himself to be one of the best students in the school at the end of almost every semester, and is currently learning his fifth language.

Subversion. This troper's friend is short, skinny, and a genius ballet dancer. She also falls over a lot.

This troper's physics professor last semester. Bonus points for insisting that everyone call him Vlad (nobody could ever pronounce his last name).

This troper's uncle is tall, broad, muscly, and I suspect he may have connections to the Russian mafia.

This troper's a subversion. My name is Ivan, I'm 6'1, fairly well built... and I'm mostly FINNISH.

Subversion: over two metres tall, well built, deep and husky voice, full beard, disgusted by anything having to do with the States... yet a brilliant political analyst and a ''hairdresser''. Yes, I get my hair cut by a giant Russian bloke called Vlad every few months. Don't ask me how this is possible.

Obviously, this is possible because your life is more awesome than any of ours.

Aversion: this Troper went to school with a Russian foreign exchange student... who was the tiniest girl in the class. She barely topped five feet tall and couldn't have possibly weighed more than ninety pounds, and made this Troper feel like an absolute giant whenever she was around.

This troper fits appearance-wise. She is Ukrainian, a borderline HugeSchoolgirl who is at the same time quite heavy (don't be fooled, it's mostly fat) and is often mistaken for a guy because of her size. Somewhat subverted though as her english has a British accent and she is fairly intellectual.

This troper knows a guy like this: 6'4", 250 pounds of muscle, hairy, husky voiced, tanned, ruggedly handsome, GeniusBruiser, and Russian. His wife, however, averts it, looking like a supermodel

This troper's girlfriend averts it, being average height and fairly slim. On the other hand, her grandfather and all her male Russian friends are wonderful reminders of why you should always treat a Russian girl kindly. Not one under 6' and 200 lbs, most of them well above.

Subverted with this troper's cousin, Vlad. He's tall, slender, and the most timid and polite person I know.

This Troper's judo club has one. Partially subverted in that while the biggest, he is not the strongest or most dangerous guy there. (That does not imply a lack of asskicking abilities, though.)

This troper is a huge and strong, though somewhat overweight (6'10'', 320 pounds) bearded Russian guy fond of drinking vodka. But he is somewhat a subversion. Though physically intimidating, he is almost always calm and friendly. But god help anyone who manages to get him upset. And he wears glasses, has a university education and works as a database administrator.

This troper also offers a subversion, though 192 cm tall, 110 kg, and with a powerful build, full beard, hairy chest and arms. Name is Yuri. Surname is Russian too. But all the traits of HuskyRusskie he inherited from his non-russian mothers half of his family tree, who are ethnic Latvians. Fathers side... Not so much Husky. But makes that up by giving this troper brains of a long line of scientists and engineers.

Subverted with this troper's Russian friend. While she stands at 6'2" and can actually intimidate most of the males in my school with her athletic abilities, she is also remarkably intelligent.
