This troper actually subverts this trope. He appears to be a humble person, but is really just brutally honest about everything, including himself, and most of the praise he receives is vastly overblown. Give him accurate praise, however, and that illusion of humility goes right out the window.

Or are you just being humble about being humble?

This troper often does good things, but would prefer to not take credit for any of them.He doesn't really take praise too well because he isn't used to it,and even when he is given praise he mostly doesn't plays it down like it wasn't much of anything.

This troper as well. I can act arrogant, but when presented with actual praise, I play myself down.

This troper is described by many as a good speaker for presentations, a fantastic singer, a competant actor and having a very good pitching abiltiy when singing unaccompanied. He actually thinks that he is, at best, about average at all except the singing, which he thinks he is slightly better than average at. He also prefers not to be noticed (the irony is not lost on me), which results in reactions of surprise when people give him praise for the above, as he usually thinks, at best, that he could have done a bit better and, at worst, that he was absolutely shit. Funnily enough, my dad mentioned that my only real problem is my lack of confidence and determination to remain in the background...which he was told by a friend of his who I stayed with for a month almost two years ago.

In an RPG this troper is designing, which is a Reconstruction of the genre, this will be one of the major themes of the story, besides AngstWhatAngst and ThePowerOfFriendship. It will be ''awesome''.
