One of this troper({{Dark Lady Celebrian}})'s RP characters, Risa, has been described as being "afraid of her own arm." Ironically, she is one of the most respected knights in the kingdom.

People refuse to believe this troper has massive stage fright and self confidence issues whenever they see me perform. Given that I play solo guitar and sing, and have long ago learned to channel the massive fear related adrenaline buzz into my performance, this is unsurprising. The problem is that in the half hour before and the moment I step off stage I become a raging bag of nerves who cannot be calmed. (I once threw up before a really big performance, finally convincing some people I wasn't as confident as I seemed.)

This Troper is often nervous before big performances or competitions, whether it be band, quiz bowl, or speech, often to the point where his legs shake quite badly. He usually can suppress/overcome/channel that fear to focus his concentration, so that in the last moments before it's performance time, he's calm enough to surprise himself.

To say that this troper is afraid of his own shadow would be an understatement. However, he once apparently gave a pretty good {{Get A Hold Of Yourself Man}} speech, in front of a crowd, drawing a fair amount of applause. He doesn't remember this at all.
