And schematics, please...

This troper's grandfather has a real sword that was given to him by the Masons. This troper also got to use a sword about two years ago and learned a basic drill with it.

On the same note This spanish troper has a particularly cool sword. It belonged to the french ambassador to Spain during the first napoleonic empire.
Picture here. I think said ambassador was a mason.

This troper has a Flamberge, the sword made with the blade looking like a flame. Its not really that heavy, but it is a BFS. I really want to have a spar with someone...
#24872
This troper's father makes some really good wooden swords that look like they were real blades. He only needs some three to four hours to do one and has already made around fifty of them.
#24873
This troper would like one of those swords, if it is possible.
#24876
I don't suppose you have a website so we can order online?
#24877
This troper has a pistol-grip rapier...
#24878
This troper's brother has a
katana with a hilt carved in the shape of a dragon. He's used it
as a box opener.

This she-troper remembers having to pose with a friend's sword which was draconic in its design as a length measurer. She-troper = 5 feet...dragon-sword: 6 feet. It wasn't that heavy, but the thing would be rather cumbersome in some role-playing game that involved a lot of running.

Even thought This Troper has a
Katana, he prefers the slightly smaller Ninjato. He also has a Wakizashi.
#24881
I think my spadroon is pretty cool.
#24883
This troper's friend has not just one, but about five or six of these. And that's not counting her Masamune replica, or her Zangetsu one. This troper herself has only a wooden sword, which although looks pretty beaten up, actually feels quite like a real one.
#24884
This troper's
grandfather, who travels around the world in his free time, has a small collection of various weapons and swords in his house. Of course, they're decoration only, but it's still pretty scary and awesome.

When this troper entered secondary school there was a shop down one of the streets that sold katanas and such. There was one in particular (a replica of David Carradine's sword from Kill Bill) that he was desperate to get his hands on once he was old enough to buy it. A few years pass, his 18th birthday's coming up in February 2010, he's excited, gets his money ready ... and the city bans the sale of katanas in late ''2009''. Rage ensues.

This troper studies Kendo. Specifically, Tameshigeri. So a katana is pretty much a given. But, this troper has also had some training in ninjutsu. So adds a dozen throwing knives to the pile, along with two kama and twin wakizashi. Oh, and just so that this troper doesn't kill anyone by accident, he possesses a pair of bokken, too.
#24887
This Troper personally owns a Katana (The real deal) a Shinai and a Boken as well as replicas of swords from both Bleach and The Legend of Zelda, oh and a cane sword....and a stick that sort of looked like a pistol grip rapier...
#24888
Oh man. This troper has a custom made dagger, about 5 show knives of various lengths, a 'neo-kris'(similar wavy blade design, but sharply serrated on one edge and with a non-kris handle) and a awesome but impractical Katar.
#24889
This troper has a few cool swords, but my real pride is my knife. It's a Gil Hibben Jackal, otherwise known as Faith's knife from
buffythevampireslayer. It's proudly displayed on my shelf.
#24890
This troper has a crate of swords, cherry picking:katana with dragon motif hilt, flamberge, templar shortsword, paired swords, three blade set(long,short,knife)...

I teach medieval swordsmanship, and I've always been instructed that if you're serious about a hobby, you've got to have kit that looks good, so you'll practice with it more. So one of my favourite toys in the world is a longsword made in the Czech Republic, based on a medieval Spanish design featuring a wire-wrapped hilt, a dark vein of colouring down the fuller and a crossguard resembling the wings of a bat. It's fully functional (if blunted for safety in training) and seemingly indestructible - I've fought with it every weekend for three years now and it's never suffered anything worse than a slight chip that occurred after one of my trainees parried badly, and was easily sorted out.

This troper's instructor for reenactment grade swordsmanship owns a very nice bastard sword (bordering on greatsword due to the length of it.), it even emits an awesome tone when struck against steel. However the weighting is wrong due to the doorknob style pommel so it handles like a brick.
