BrainySpecs

I was fairly young when I started wearing my lens-less "Molly glasses"real name is nothing like Molly, I just associated glasses with the names Molly and Emily for some reason), after finding them on the street, but until I was an adult I didn't think of an appropriate response to remarks on how "childish" this habit is. My reasoning now runs like this: ''People wear all sorts of clothing just for how it makes them look, why should glasses be strictly because you '''need''' to wear them?'' So now I'm over 30 and will occasionally wear my glasses in public (say, while shopping) for no reason but that I felt like it that day.they're mostly like a thinking cap for when I want extra incentive to write.

This troper occasionally dons a pair of reading glasses simply because she thinks they look cool. Usually, they're worn on the top of her head, instead of over the eyes... because it looks cool.

This troper has glasses, but they're weak--+5 in one eye only--and I mostly only put them on when using a computer or trying to look authoritative. And especially when I don't want people to question what I say. Believe it or not, it works!

This troper was ''thrilled'' when the optician told her she needs glasses. Or not actually ''need'', but they would be ''useful'', I do after all have a vision problem that makes lectures tiring. ''This is gonna be awesome!''

This troper's friend found a pair of glasses lying on the counter in our center, and decided to wear them. She has been wearing them for about a month and no one has stepped up to claim them yet.

This trope is completely inverted for This Troper. He rarely wears the glasses he only slightly needs, and when he does wear them, they make him look like a complete ''idiot''. Especially given that he is a very good student near the top of his class.

This troper's piano teacher has a brother in Australia who has had laser eye surgery. Sometimes he wears glasses that don't change his vision just for fun, and when he does, he remarks that people seem to respect him more.

Everyone says my brainy specs make me look like a nerd. Mission accomplished. (That and I'm blind without 'em.)
