The guidance counselor at my school always wears a bow tie.

We have reason to believe that the teachers all watch Doctor Who during lunch, because of the TARDIS in the teachers' lounge.

*incoherent splutter* How can I transfer!?!
#16391
At my high school formal, through sheer quirk of the suit rental, I was the ''only'' one wearing a bow tie. I got quite a few compliments on it.

The head of the chemistry department at this troper's university is a tiny, wizened old man with thick glasses. He's never seen without his flannel shirt and colorful bow tie.
#16393
This Troper, despite being a girl and having nothing to do with this trope, compliments the wearers of bow ties (yes, even strangers. Everyone likes unsolicited compliments on their appearance.) in an attempt to singlehandedly make them popular again.
#16394
This troper actively wears bowties to any nice occasion, because they look so fancy and makes me feel so damn cool. For anyone interested,
here's where I go to look at new ones.
#16395
GodDAMMIT Troper, what have you done to my wallet?!
#16396
This Troper's old technology teacher was, to put it mildly, an eccentric old chap who wore a bowtie every day without fail; he also wore braces and thick round glasses and had a pocket full of pens at all times. I like to think he's a retired Time Lord.
#16397
This troper wants a bow tie so he'll be his favourite version of a
certain Time Lord
#16398
This Troper had a high school anthropology teacher who always donned a bowtie and {{nerd glasses}}. When teaching us about Stone Age hunter-gatherer societies he demonstrated how to ''throw a spear the entire length of the football field''.

About a year or so ago, this twentysomething troper thought it'd be cool to have at least one bowtie. I watched a few videos on [=YouTube=] to learn how to properly tie one, and I went to a local thrift store and found a nice red one. I later wore it with a blue shirt and sleeveless sweater to a substitute teaching job. Compliments abounded.

This Troper had a Chemistry teacher last year who was a human computer of Series/DoctorWho knowledge. He also wore a bow tie and came into school on the last day before the Summer wearing a fez and carrying a mop.

I am this trope. I was in a play this year. I was initially playing as a character who wore a suit and tie. When offered a different part which wore a bowtie, I leapt on it. Also, I used to work at a movie theatre. All staff members had to wear bowties. I was literally the only worker excited about it.

This troper's middle school's upper band uniforms are black from the waist down, white tux shirts, bow ties and cummerbunds. The black ones were pretty nice looking (though none of the girls could pull it off), but the "middle" band's dark forest green were...
ugly.

At this troper's alma mater, all the grad students in the philosophy department wore sweater vests. One day they all decided to wear bowties, too. Geekiness abounded.
#16404
This troper's {{Adorkable}} former
conductor (the orchestra kind of conductor).
#16405
This troper had a high school Chemistry teacher who wore bowties everyday. At the end of the school year, he brought in a bunch of extras and had the whole class wear one to take a class photo (the first and only time this troper has ever worn one.)

This troper had an instance of this trope that also qualified as a GeekyTurnOn at a disco. It was my friend's eighteenth birthday and, as we were told to dress smartish, I wore a shirt, a tie (specifically, a Wallice and Grommit tie), jeans, trainers and a black coat. My friend's 20 year old sister admitted that she was an old fashioned girl and was into men with ties.
Apart from my friend, I was the only guy wearing a tie. Cue minor {{Squick}} when I was informed of her age (I thought she was about 18) and, near the end of the disco, when she said, "I love you." I'm aware there are larger age gaps (I've read on this wiki of age gaps 10 years and beyond), but, when you are 17, having a 20 year old hit on you is hardly a comfortable thing, especially when you are in love with another girl who is at the party.

This troper's insanely awesome orchestra teacher. Wears a bowtie every day. 'Nuff said.
#16408
Don't know if it counts, but...this female Troper wore a bowtie as a hair accessory on a regular basis a few years ago.
#16409
This troper's father wears bowties on a regular basis, and, hilariously, this trope describes him to a T.
#16410
This troper's entire middle school upper band wore black bowties and cummerbunds for performances. Also, at concerts in high school, her band director wears a bowtie and looks almost exactly like a penguin in his suit. Yes, he's a total {{Nerd}}, quotes LordOfTheRings and StarWars, and thinks his bowtie is awesome.
#16411
Do you go to my school?
#16412
My husband (in his late 40s) is fond of bowties, as is a younger man at our church (he's in his late 20s).
#16413
This Troper's elementary part of his school has "Bowtie Fridays," where instead of the teachers wearing regular ties, they wear bowties.
#16414
This female troper loves to wear bowties, especially colorful ones.
#16415
Taking inspiration from this trope and
The Doctor, this troper attempted to get a whole mess of people to wear bowties to our high school graduation. About a handful of people did, so it was a moderate success.

Interesting note: i was the only one with a non-clip on. It was a orange-blue plaid.
