BlueAndOrangeMorality

I seem to be about the only person who can understand why Gilgamesh of Fate/stay night is classified as ChaoticGood rather than ChaoticEvil. In fact, most of my issues with his representation have to do with him being too ''lawful''--his belief that humans need a ruler, etc. Similarly, I judge myself as basically good (though certainly imperfect--mostly prone to Wrath), while most describe my general behavior as unpredictable or enigmatic.

This Troper leans this way. For one thing, he doesn't believe that people should blindly respect and follow authority for a shallow reason, and that respecting ones parents just for giving birth for you, or just because they're your parents, as one of those shallow reasons. He also finds that valuing the Law over someone that you claim to care about, is also morally reprehensible. As is changing one person's character just to fit your ideal. My odd sense of self-righteousness/ InferioritySuperiorityComplex stems from the fact that, because I can admit my flaws and shortcomings, means that I am a better person and morally superior than those that don't, or do but continue to demand respect. He also doesn't believe in senority, scoffing at people who think they should gain respect just because of age. And that's just the tip of the ice-burg.
