BeyondTheimpossible

Might as well start this: a recent discussion of a picture of an unusually large ''{{Warhammer 40000}}'' dreadnought on 4chan (check 4chanarchive to find the thread), as a result of this troper suggesting an Ork CombiningMecha, turned into a sort of LensmanArmsRace of BeyondTheImpossible. Gattai-ing gargants, Dreadnoughts driving Titans, and ''attaching Imperial battlecruisers'' had all happened within ten minutes. And then it got bigger, complete with wall-to-wall TengenToppaGurrenLagann references and the phrase "the planet is the mechanical monstrosity. Quick, find a moon to use for the head."

This Troper showed his cousin the movie ''Airplane!'' She only laughed once during the whole thing. It was at the "shit hits the fan" gag.
#13510
Same troper as the above has something like this that appears to be hardwired into his brain. Thinking about solar power led to him proposing the creation of a network of satellites designed to transmit solar energy to Earth with a laser, and thinking about a Mars mission led to him scheming the moon into one giant network of dome cities. Also crosses over with AwesomeButImpractical.

This troper just finished BadViking's Planet Basher on the first round. WITH ONE
FUCKING PLANET.

A behemoth of a vehicle. 300 Miles to go, two hours to 8:00 when the music store would close. The car has a max speed of roughly 100 mph. We make it. Up yours, relativity.
#13513
This troper wants to do an entire year of college in one semester. The only thing standing in his way is trying to get all twelve classes scheduled around each other (and in two cases, a class and its own prerequisite at the same time.) Looks like 27 credits is about the upper limit, but trying to apply MoreDakka to the issue.

This troper may have just figured out how to successfully divide by zero, and get an integer out of it, WITHOUT BREAKING REALITY IN THE PROCESS: (a/0 - a/0) ± x. Assuming that a =/= b, and that a/0 and b/0 are two different undefined numbers, but numbers nonetheless, one can use the rule that n - n = 0 to state the (a/0 - a/0) = 0.
Or did I? Then again, someone else may have thought of this already...
#13515
Subtracting equal quantities will always give 0 (assuming a standard system of arithmetic), although as x/0 is undefined (NaN in computing terms) I wonder whether this is actually sound... hmm, interesting.
#13516
Interesting idea, but it doesn't work. Division by zero makes no sense; it's impossible to define what it means in any
field such as the real numbers. Rules such as n - n = 0 apply when you're talking about numbers, but you can't substitute a meaningless string of symbols such as "a/0" into the expression.
#13517
This troper has successfully unleashed a two-foot tall fauxhawk upon the world. I called it the fauxhawkalypse.
#13518
Not me, but a friend of mine. He claims to have completed Final Fantasy XIII (on the PS3) in 8 hours. He claims to have proof. If this turns out to be actually true, the universe may just implode.
#13519
Someone on a message board that this troper frequented claimed to have played 180 hours of FinalFantasyX in two days.
#13520
This troper has been accused by friends of playing the trope in ''WanganMidnight Maximum Tune'' by creating a new car, tuning it to maximum HP, getting all the dress up parts, and completing all 10-outrun levels in all courses, in less than a week. Considering that (in the latest version, WMMT3 DX Plus), that requires playing over 300 games in a row! (And since this is only available as an arcade machine, imagine all the quarters consumed)
#13521
However, he subverts it in a number of ways: by starting with a "discard" (a "used" car, which begins with some HP already) so less 20 games there, and playing it in older versions of the game, which requires less games to play. Also, not losing any game keeps the game count low as well (losing, particularly in Story Mode and Outrun, means having to replay a game to advance).

This troper's computer has survived upwards of 5 BSODs. without any defragging or antivirusing in between. still working fine. my computer is god.
#13523
This troper's previous computer had the habit of getting the BSOD like every week when the said computer was getting old. And the computer ''kept on going''. But what makes it really awesome is that when the computer really did cease to work for good, it only happened ''after'' I had already backed up all the data I needed. If there is proof that machines can feel affection and love, that computer is it. Even at death's door, it never ceased to give me my gaming or internet browsing experiences.
#13524
ThisTroper has had a several BSOD's almost one after the other. Including a BSOD inside a BSOD.
#13525
This troper has a computer with a hard drive with a factory defect that was slowly killing it. It would occasionally crash games every so often and need to be rebooted, but it got worse as it went along. By the end of that hard drive's lifespan it would BSOD every 20 minutes of being on, and not reboot for several hours after crashing. It kept working though, and we even managed to get all our data off of it.
#13526
What's worse is that my Dad ''refused to replace the hard drive for six months,'' instead insisting that I had too much on C drive, and should start moving stuff off of it onto D. A partition of the same physical drive. Aside from the fact that using partitions to "decrease on C drive's overload" makes no sense, We had over 700 GB left on it. Unless that thing was of uncannily low quality (aside from what was effectively Hard drive cancer, it wasn't) using only 42% of a hard drive would not cause it to fatally malfunction.

This troper and his lab partner tend not to get the best results during our chemistry lab mods. Sometimes there's a screw up, or some miscalculation, but one time when calculating our error percent for the experiment we got under (that's father) NEGATIVE ONE THOUSAND PERCENT ERROR! And the flaw was not in the math.(I don't know how but we did both pass the class anyways.)
#13528
How many more tabs can this troper cram onto one window? How many more expensive things can he break? How many injuries can he get before dieing of blood loss?
#13529
This troper's great-grandfather was an artillery colonel and infantry brigadier general (spanish army). He wore the artillery insignia in the sleeves and the infantry ones in the shoulder. He once encountered the minister of war at an official reception and the minister asked something like " Why in the holy fuck are you wearing two ranks?" and he answered that he was an artillery colonel, but due to war merits the General Staff decided (unanimously) to appoint him infantry general(war merits don't exist for artillery units).

This is what described the experience of reading ''CerebusTheAardvark'' for this troper. While the first half of the story definitely had more than its share of dull parts (slogging through the massive author tracts was both fascinating and extremely tiresome), it was the "Rick's Story" arc - featuring Cerebus as the owner of a bar - that caused me to throw up my hands and say "This couldn't be any more boring." And what do you know, the series outdid itself for each successive arc by going BeyondTheImpossible with
decompression, other time-wasting nonsense and sheer irrelevance. "Going Home", Sim's odious love letter to F. Scott Fitzgerald, was somehow even more boring. I was convinced it couldn't be topped. "Form and Void", a partial retelling of Ernest Hemingway's biography, was ''even more boring''. No, it just couldn't get any worse... "Latter Days" at last caused me to start skipping chunks of the narrative. But that was surely rock bottom, right? Wrong! Against all odds, "The Last Day" was '''even more boring'''. Only the very final chapters were something of an improvement...

This Troper still has his original Xbox 360 with all its original parts, and it has survived two or three stints with the Red Ring of Death...
#13532
This troper will do you one better. I still have my original 360, I took it to Iraq with me (which is notorious for completely fucking electronics), I've moved several times and dropped in from a six foot high shelf. The thing still works, and has never given me the RROD. I love my xbox. I named it lucky.

Today on Minecraft, we got the Beta 1.3 update, meaning the server I play on reset and went to vanilla. someone somehow managed to get his first 8 diamonds in the first 25 minutes (diamonds are among the rarest materials in the game) . He somehow had 320 (5 stacks) by 2 hours time.
#13534
Today, I fixed a PS2 with a spork and a refrigerator magnet... Apparently, I am also MacGyver.

Once when playing Pokemon SoulSilver, I had caught Entei with a ultra ball at full health on the way to catching Lugia. Then, I found a shiny Tenacool, which I caught. Then, the Lugia was shiny, and I caught it on turn one with a Pokeball.
What.

In this troper's larp system body vampires (vampires inhabiting physical forms.) are amongst the most powerful enemies in the game, being immune to most damage and having hideous abilities. This troper's character managed to kill one with only a silver dagger and a size 1 shield, equipment available at character creation that have the lowest damage and defensive coverage respectively.. To repeat: I held a vampire down with my buckler and knifed him to death.

This troper is a big {{Stan Lee}} fan. When I found out that he was writing two mangas, I was really excited. When I found out that one of those mangas was already getting an anime({{Heroman}}), I freaked out. Then, in one of the trailers, someone commented that the main character was actually a girl. Then I said that she/he had a female love interest. Then the other person said that Heroman could have been a yuri. Then I said that this was uncharacteristic of Stan Lee. Then she said that it was uncharacteristic of him to get an anime. We wound up going into this massive argument about whether the main character (who's name is Joey Jones--and I used that fact in the argument) was a guy or a girl. Our responses got gradually more and more ridiculous until we both just gave up.

This troper listened to
Caramelldansen on repeat for half an hour. And was perfectly sane afterwards.

I have a friend who can run the first Crysis at max settings. WITHOUT ANY BIT OF LAG AT ALL.
